Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Baby bibs are well known in the art. Bibs are mostly provided for wear on babies to prevent spills on clothing. Usually a bib is used to cover the chest or under the chin of a baby or toddler to protect the clothing, but the present invention is used for a carrier. Babies wear bibs frequently when they are teething. Bibs are used during feedings to protect clothing and also throughout the day to keep clothing free from spit up and drool. It is normal for babies to drool especially if they are teething. Drooling or dribbling is when babies produce more saliva than normal and gums may begin to itch from teething. Teething is the process of teeth trying to break through the gums. Teething can begin when a baby is 3 to 12 months. The present invention is for the bib to be worn on a carrier for protection. Prior art baby bibs are for a baby or toddler to wear on their body and they have not addressed the need for protecting a carrier by use of a bib from drool, germs and stains. A method for securing a bib to a carrier is needed as more and more people use baby carriers.
  • FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The field of invention relates generally to bibs for babies or toddlers, and, more specifically to a method for securing a bib to a carrier.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In accordance with the present invention, methods are disclosed for effectively securing a bib to a carrier that is used to carry a baby or toddler and protects clothing from drool, spit up and stains. Embodiments are disclosed wherein attaching buttons, snapping buttons or hook and loop fasteners therein for closure to secure the bib to a carrier. The present invention is made of breathable cotton, polyester or any suitable material and can be made using any fabric, style or colors.
  • The purpose of a bib on a carrier is to protect it from drool by a baby that causes germs and stains when the baby is being carried. When parents carry their babies for prolonged periods of time in carriers the baby may spit-up or press their mouth on the bib as a way to ease teething pain. Babies are always looking for something to put in their mouths. The present invention will help ease teething pain, allow drooling and also keep the carrier dry so it can be used on a daily basis.
  • In a preferred embodiment a bib would be a 3-piece set made of cloth and also have snap buttons for attaching the present invention to a carrier and is worn on a carrier with the baby inside the carrier with his head facing the protective bib cover.
  • In another embodiment a bib is worn on a carrier with the baby inside the carrier with the bib and carrier on the same facing side with the bib close to the mouth so the baby can press his gums on it.
  • In another embodiment a bib is made of elastic stretchable material and attaches to a carrier by hook and loop fasteners.
  • It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a method for securing a bib to a carrier that has protection from drool, stains and germs and will keep the carrier dry that comes in different styles.
