- The disclosure and prior art relates to apron devices and more particularly pertains to a new apron device for facilitating private breast feeding in a public location.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising an apron that may be worn during breast feeding. The apron has a pair of openings and each of the openings is aligned with a nipple on a breast thereby facilitating an infant to breast feed. A pair of first straps is each coupled to and extends away from the apron and each of the first straps is selectively tied around a neck. A pair of second straps is each coupled to and extends away from the apron and each of the second straps is selectively tied around a waist.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a front perspective view of a breast feeding apron assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a back view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new apron device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 4 , the breastfeeding apron assembly 10 generally comprises anapron 12 that may be worn by a mother during breast feeding. Theapron 12 has a pair ofopenings 13 and each of theopenings 13 is aligned with a nipple on a breast. In this way an infant may breast feed when theapron 12 is worn. Moreover, theapron 12 is comprised of an opaque material to inhibit the breast from being visible during breast feeding. In this way theapron 12 enhances the mother's privacy when breast feeding in a public location. - The
apron 12 has afirst surface 14, asecond surface 16 and aperipheral edge 18 extending therebetween. Theperipheral edge 18 has a top side 20, a first lateral side 22 and a second lateral side 24. Each of theopenings 13 extends through the first 14 and second 16 surfaces and each of theopenings 13 is spaced apart from a center of theapron 12. Theapron 12 may be comprised of a deformable material such as cotton or the like to enhance comfort for the infant when the infant is breast feeding. Apocket 26 is coupled to theapron 12 and thepocket 26 may store objects. Thepocket 26 is positioned on thefirst surface 14 of theapron 12 and thepocket 26 has anupper end 28. Theupper end 28 is open to access an interior of thepocket 26. A valance may be coextensively coupled to theperipheral edge 18 of theapron 12 for decorative purposes. - A pair of
first straps 30 is provided and each of thefirst straps 30 is coupled to and extends away from theapron 12. Each of thefirst straps 30 is selectively tied around a neck to secure theapron 12. Each of thefirst straps 30 is positioned on the top side 20 of theperipheral edge 18 of theapron 12. A pair ofsecond straps 32 is provided and each of thesecond straps 32 is coupled to and extends away from theapron 12. Each of thesecond straps 32 is selectively tied around a waist and each of thesecond straps 32 is positioned on an associated one of the first lateral side 22 and the second lateral side 24 of theperipheral edge 18 of theapron 12. - In use, the
apron 12 is worn for breast feeding in a public location. Each of theopenings 13 in theapron 12 is aligned with the nipple on a breast when theapron 12 is worn. In this way the infant may breast feed when theapron 12 is worn. Moreover, theapron 12 conceals the breasts when the infant is breast feeding. In this way theapron 12 enhances the mother's privacy when breast feeding in the public location. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
