Description

    CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application claims priority under 35 U.S.C. § 119 (e) to U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 62/586,789, filed on Nov. 15, 2017, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference.
  • FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a travel tray, and more particularly to a travel tray that can be used as a shoulder or hand bag.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Recently, people pay more attentions to the child safety, and in the United States, the safety seats become a requirement by law when children are on board. Usually, children are seated in the rear seats of a vehicle, and they tend to make noise and lead to distraction of driver if they are nothing to do. Thus, a travel tray is needed when travelling with children. Generally, a conventional travel tray has a board which enables children to have drawing or play their toys thereon. However, it is inconvenient to carry this kind of travel tray from place to place. Also, when the travel tray is not used by children, it is barely useless for adult. Therefore, there remains a need for a new and improved design for a travel tray to overcome the problems presented above.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention provides a travel tray which comprises a main body and a board. The main body has two foldable side pieces extending from two lateral edges thereof, and a length-adjustable strap has two ends which are detachably and respectively connected with two ends of a top edge of the main body through a manner of male and female buckles. Moreover, two ends of the two side pieces are configured to be coupled and secured together through fastener pairs to cover a front side of the main body. Additionally, each of the two side pieces comprises a plurality of first pockets at an inner surface thereof for carrying items such as pens, papers and other necessaries. Moreover, the main body has a back piece, and a foldable lid secured at a top portion of an outer surface of the back piece is configured to be folded along a top end of the back piece. Furthermore, a U-shaped edge configured to connect to two lateral edges and a bottom edge of the back piece protrudes from an inner surface of the back piece, and the U-shaped edge is configured to secure with the lid to enclose an interior space therein through two L-shaped zippers. The hard board is formed on the inner surface of the back piece for use as a table when the zippers are unzipped and the lid is opened. Moreover, a plurality of second pockets are formed on the outer surface of the back piece for a user to put items therein.
  • In one embodiment, the two ends of the two side pieces are configured to be coupled and secured together through male and female buckle members.
  • In another embodiment, two inner lower portions of the two side pieces comprise male fasteners, and a front side of the lid has female fasteners at positions corresponding to the male fasteners on the side pieces, such that the two side pieces are configured to be secured together and with the lid through the male and female fasteners to create a third pocket at the front side of the main body for a user to carry more items, wherein the positions of the male fasteners and the corresponding female fasteners are switchable.
  • In still another embodiment, two sliders of the two zippers, which can be formed on a periphery of the lid, the U-shaped edge or respectively on the periphery of the lid and the U-shaped edge, are adapted to respectively be zipped in a L-shape and a mirrored L-shaped toward the two ends of the top edge of the main body, thereby enclosing the interior space.
  • In a preferred embodiment, the two sliders of the two zippers, which are configured to be formed on the periphery of the lid, the U-shaped edge or respectively on the periphery of the lid and the U-shaped edge, are adapted to respectively be zipped in a L-shape and a mirrored L-shaped from the two ends of the top edge of the main body to enclose the interior space.
  • In a further embodiment, the main body only has one zipper which is formed on the edge of the lid or the U-shaped edge and configured to be zipped in a U-shape from one end of the top edge of the main body to another, thereby enclosing the interior space.
  • In still a further embodiment, the lid is detachably secured on the top portion of the outer surface of the back piece through a pair of hook and loop fasteners.
  • In yet a further embodiment, the board is an alphabet play pad or other educational pads. In a particular embodiment, a cushion pad is movably mounted on the strap to reduce a user's shoulder or hand pressure.
  • In still a particular embodiment, the back piece and the lid are formed integrally. In some embodiments, the back piece and the U-shaped edge are formed integrally.
