  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The present disclosure describes a cosmetic eyewear applicator device. The applicator applies a temporary tattoo of eye makeup to an eye area of a user. The eye makeup may include eyeliner, eye shadow and eye brow shaping. To apply the eye makeup using the eyewear applicator device a user peels off a front side adhesive strip, places the tattoo in a desired position, and peels off a rear side adhesive strip. Once the rear side adhesive strip is peeled off, air activates a self-moistening agent therein which causes an application of moisture to the rear side of the application sheet which causes the ink from the tattoo to adhere to a contact surface (e.g., the positioned eye area). The temporary eye makeup tattoo remains on the eye surface for a few days.
  • As illustrated in FIG. 1, the cosmetic eyewear applicator device 10 includes an application sheet 12 having a transferrable pigmented image 14 printed thereon, a first adhesive strip 16 and a second adhesive strip 18. The first adhesive strip is attached to a front side of the application sheet to protect the pigmented image. The second adhesive strip is attached to the rear side of the application sheet and it applies moisture to the rear side of the application sheet when a self-moisturizing agent therein is activated upon exposure to air. The agent is exposed to air when a user peels the second adhesive strip off the rear side of the application sheet. The moisturizing agent may include any suitable agent that generates moisture upon air activation.
  • The application sheet includes a moisture absorbent substrate which transfers a pigmented image printed on the sheet to a contact surface to which the pigmented image is in direct contact with when an application of moisture to a rear side of the application sheet occurs. The application sheet is made of any suitable material, such as, for example, plastic, cloth, paper or ceramic. In a preferred embodiment, the application sheet is a decal.
  • The pigmented image printed on the application sheet is a temporary eye makeup tattoo. The image may come in various designs, sizes and shapes. In a preferred embodiment, the pigmented image is an eyeliner image. The eyeliner image may include both the upper eyelid and lower eyelid or alternatively the upper eyelid or the lower eyelid. The image is pigmented with a colorant, such as, for example, a dye, ink. The colorant is non-permanent.
  • In another exemplary embodiment, the pigmented image is an eyeshadow image.
  • In another exemplary embodiment, the pigmented image is an eye brow image.
  • The adhesive strips are peel off strips and may be made of any suitable material, such as, for example, plastic, paper or cloth.
  • In an alternative embodiment, the tattoo is completely encased in a plastic pouch, and the tattoo is air activated (i.e. transferred to a contact surface) when the pouch is opened.
  • While embodiments of the present disclosure have been described for eyewear makeup, the applicator device may be used with other types of pigmented images for tattooing to the human skin.
