Abstract

- This application claims priority of U.S. provisional application Ser. No. 62/583,865 filed on Nov. 9, 2017, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
- The present disclosure relates to a toiletry article, and more particularly, to a cosmetic compact that has an innovative structure for implementing desired functions.
- Conventional cosmetic compacts are designed for accommodating cosmetic powder. Each of the conventional cosmetic compacts is normally designed to have an individual shape. The individual shapes of the conventional cosmetic compacts are usually not well-suited for easy alignment with each other to form a desired pattern. In addition, when a user carries the conventional cosmetic compacts, the conventional cosmetic compacts may be scattered in a toiletry package, thereby occupying an excessive amount of space in the toiletry package.

- One aspect of the present disclosure provides a cosmetic compact that has an innovative structure. The cosmetic compact comprises a body and a cover pivotally connected to the body. In some embodiments, the body includes a depression formed in a side surface of the body that is opposite to the cover. In some embodiments, the cover includes a protrusion formed on a side surface of the cover that is opposite to the body. In some embodiments, the depression of the body corresponds in both shape and size to the protrusion of the cover.
- In some embodiments, the cosmetic compact further comprises a coupling member mounted to the body and a fastening member mounted to the cover. In some embodiments, the cover is pivotable between an open state and a closed state, such that when the cover is in the open state, the fastening member is distal from the coupling member, and when the cover is in the closed state, the fastening member is proximate to the coupling member.
- In some embodiments, the body further includes a base and a platform mounted to the base. In some embodiments, the base includes a base wall, and a base surrounding wall extending from a periphery of the base wall to the cover and including a section recessed to form a pivot portion. In some embodiments, the depression is formed in a side surface of the base wall that is opposite to the cover. In some embodiments, the platform includes a platform wall including a portion recessed to form a pivot groove, and a platform surrounding wall extending from the platform wall toward the base wall of the base and defining a body accommodating hole. In some embodiments, the cover further includes a cover wall, a cover surrounding wall extending from a periphery of the cover wall to the base surrounding wall of the base and defining a cover accommodating hole communicating with the body accommodating hole, and a pivot block extending from the cover wall and the cover surrounding wall through the pivot groove of the platform into the pivot portion of the base.
- In some embodiments, the platform of the body further includes a supporting fin extending from the platform wall to the base wall of the base.
- In some embodiments, the cosmetic compact further comprises a pivot rod extending through the pivot portion of the base and the pivot block of the cover so as to allow the cover to pivot in relation to the body.
- In some embodiments, the body accommodating hole of the body combines with the cover accommodating hole of the cover to form an accommodating space.
- In some embodiments, the base of the body further includes a coupling-member-embedded groove disposed for allowing the coupling member to be embedded therein. In some embodiments, the cover further includes a fastening-member-embedded groove disposed for allowing the fastening member to be embedded therein. In some embodiments, the platform of the body further includes a coupling-member-retaining groove disposed for retaining the coupling member.
- In some embodiments, the fastening member and the fastening-member-embedded groove are V-shaped.
- In some embodiments, the coupling-member-embedded groove is molded inside the base surrounding wall of the base.
- In some embodiments, the coupling-member-embedded groove is formed in a surface of the base surrounding wall of the base that is in contact with the cover.
- In some embodiments, the coupling member is mounted between the base and the platform. In some embodiments, the coupling member is configured as a magnet and the fastening member is configured as an iron sheet, such that when the cover is in the closed state, the fastening member is magnetically attracted by the coupling member so as to reliably fasten the cover to the body.
- Another aspect of the present disclosure provides a cosmetic compact assembly that can allow a user to assemble a plurality of cosmetic compacts to form a desired pattern. The cosmetic compact assembly comprises a plurality of juxtaposed cosmetic compacts. In some embodiments, each of the cosmetic compacts includes a body, a cover pivotally connected to the body, and a coupling member mounted to the body. In some embodiments, the coupling members of the cosmetic compacts connect with each other to form reliable connections among the cosmetic compacts.
- In some embodiments, each of the cosmetic compacts includes two coupling members configured as a slot and a tail, respectively. In some embodiments, the tail of one of the cosmetic compacts is slid into the slot of a corresponding one of the cosmetic compacts so as to form a reliable connection between the cosmetic compacts.
- In some embodiments, each of the cosmetic compacts includes two coupling members configured as a mortise and a tenon, respectively. In some embodiments, the tenon of one of the cosmetic compacts engages the mortise of a corresponding one of the cosmetic compacts so as to form a reliable connection between the cosmetic compacts.
- In some embodiments, the body of each of the cosmetic compacts includes a depression formed in a side surface of the body that is opposite to the cover. In some embodiments, the cover of each of the cosmetic compacts includes a protrusion formed on a side surface of the cover that is opposite to the body.
- In some embodiments, the body of each of the cosmetic compacts further includes a base and a platform mounted to the base. In some embodiments, the base includes a base wall, and a base surrounding wall extending from a periphery of the base wall to the cover and including a section recessed to form a pivot portion. In some embodiments, the depression of each of the cosmetic compacts is formed in a side surface of the base wall that is opposite to the cover. In some embodiments, the platform includes a platform wall including a portion recessed to form a pivot groove, and a platform surrounding wall extending from the platform wall toward the base wall of the base and defining a body accommodating hole. In some embodiments, the cover of each of the cosmetic compacts further includes a cover wall, a cover surrounding wall extending from a periphery of the cover wall to the base surrounding wall of the base and defining a cover accommodating hole communicating with the body accommodating hole, and a pivot block extending from the cover wall and the cover surrounding wall through the pivot groove of the platform into the pivot portion of the base.
- Still another aspect of the present disclosure provides a cosmetic compact assembly that can allow a user to vertically stack a plurality of cosmetic compacts for easy carrying. The cosmetic compact assembly comprises a plurality of vertically-stacked cosmetic compacts. In some embodiments, each of the cosmetic compacts includes a body and a cover pivotally connected to the body. In some embodiments, the body of each of the cosmetic compacts includes a depression formed in a side surface of the body that is opposite to the cover. In some embodiments, the cover of each of the cosmetic compacts includes a protrusion formed on a side surface of the cover that is opposite to the body. In some embodiments, the protrusion of one of the cosmetic compacts engages the depression of a corresponding one of the cosmetic compacts.
- In some embodiments, the body of each of the cosmetic compacts further includes a base and a platform mounted to the base. In some embodiments, the base includes a base wall, and a base surrounding wall extending from a periphery of the base wall to the cover and including a section recessed to form a pivot portion. In some embodiments, the depression of each of the cosmetic compacts is formed in a side surface of the base wall that is opposite to the cover. In some embodiments, the platform includes a platform wall including a portion recessed to form a pivot groove, and a platform surrounding wall extending from the platform wall toward the base wall of the base and defining a body accommodating hole. In some embodiments, the cover of each of the cosmetic compacts further includes a cover wall, a cover surrounding wall extending from a periphery of the cover wall to the base surrounding wall of the base and defining a cover accommodating hole communicating with the body accommodating hole, and a pivot block extending from the cover wall and the cover surrounding wall through the pivot groove of the platform into the pivot portion of the base.
- In some embodiments, the depressions of the cosmetic compacts correspond in both shape and size to the protrusions of the cosmetic compacts.
- In some embodiments, each of the cosmetic compacts further includes a coupling member mounted to the base of the body and a fastening member mounted to the cover. In some embodiments, the cover is pivotable between an open state and a closed state, such that when the cover is in the open state, the fastening member is distal from the coupling member, and when the cover is in the closed state, the fastening member is proximate to the coupling member.
- The present disclosure provides an innovative structure of the cosmetic compact, such that a user may assemble a plurality of cosmetic compacts together to form a cosmetic compact assembly for presenting a desired pattern, and the user may vertically stack the cosmetic compacts to form another cosmetic compact assembly for reducing occupied space. Consequently, the drawbacks of conventional cosmetic compacts can be alleviated.

FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 , thecosmetic compact 8 comprises abody 1, acover 2 pivotally connected to thebody 1, acoupling member 3 mounted to thebody 1, afastening member 4 mounted to thecover 2, and apivot rod 5 extending through thebody 1 and thecover 2 so as to allow thecover 2 to pivot in relation to thebody 1. - In some embodiments, referring to
FIG. 1 , thebody 1 includes abase 11 and aplatform 12 mounted to thebase 11. In some embodiments, thebase 11 includes abase wall 111; abase surrounding wall 112 extending from a periphery of thebase wall 111 to thecover 2 and including a section recessed to form apivot portion 113; and adepression 114 formed in a side surface of thebase wall 111 that is opposite to thecover 2. - In some embodiments, referring to

FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 , the cosmetic compact 8 further includes a fastening-member-embeddedgroove 25 formed in thecover 2 for allowing thefastening member 4 to be embedded therein. In the exemplary embodiment, the quantities of thefastening member 4, thedepression 114, theprotrusion 24 and the fastening-member-embeddedgroove 25 are each one. - In the exemplary embodiment, referring to
FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 , thecosmetic compact 8 comprises two spaced-apartcoupling members 3 mounted between the base 11 and theplatform 12 of thebody 1, and mounted symmetrically and respectively at two opposite sides of thebody 1. The base 11 further includes two spaced-apart coupling-member-embeddedgrooves 115 disposed symmetrically and respectively at two opposite sides of thebase 11 and formed in thebase surrounding wall 112 for allowing thecoupling members 3 to be respectively embedded therein. Theplatform 12 further includes two spaced-apart coupling-member-retaininggrooves 126 disposed symmetrically and respectively at two opposite sides of theplatform 12 and formed in theplatform wall 121 for respectively retaining thecoupling members 3. - In the exemplary embodiment, the
cosmetic compact 8 comprises twopivot rods 5 disposed for allowing thecover 2 to pivot in relation to thebody 1. One of thepivot rods 5 extends from a side of thepivot portion 113 into a corresponding one side of thepivot block 23, and the other one of thepivot rods 5 extends from an opposite side of thepivot portion 113 into a corresponding one side of thepivot block 23. - In the exemplary embodiment, referring to
FIG. 2 , thefastening member 4 and the fastening-member-embeddedgroove 25 are V-shaped. In other embodiments, the shapes of thefastening member 4 and the fastening-member-embeddedgroove 25 may be varied. - In other embodiments, the quantities of the
fastening member 4, theprotrusion 24, the fastening-member-embeddedgroove 25, thecoupling member 3, thedepression 114, the coupling-member-embeddedgroove 115, and the coupling-member-retaininggroove 126 may be varied. For example, in other embodiments, the cosmetic compact 8 may include twofastening members 4, two fastening-member-embeddedgrooves 25, only onecoupling member 3 and only one coupling-member-embeddedgroove 115. (The same objective can be achieved when thecoupling member 3 and the coupling-member-embeddedgroove 115 are V-shaped even if thecosmetic compact 8 includes only onecoupling member 3 and only one coupling-member-embeddedgroove 115.) - In the exemplary embodiment, the
body 1 and thecover 2 are made of polypropylene, while, in other embodiments, the materials of thebody 1 and thecover 2 may be varied. - In other embodiments, the coupling-member-retaining
groove 126 may be omitted since thecoupling member 3 may be firmly embedded into the coupling-member-embeddedgroove 115 using other methods. - In the exemplary embodiment, referring to
FIG. 2 , theplatform 12 includes two supportingfins 125 extending from theplatform wall 121 to thebase wall 111 of thebase 11, and each of the supportingfins 125 is disposed for providing a supporting force to theplatform wall 121. - In other embodiments, the quantity of the supporting
fin 125 may be varied, while in yet other embodiments, the supportingfin 125 may be omitted altogether. - During an assembly operation of the
cosmetic compact 8, in the exemplary embodiment, thecoupling members 3 are first and respectively embedded into the coupling-member-embeddedgrooves 115, and theplatform 12 is subsequently mounted to thebase 11. With such arrangement, the coupling-member-retaininggrooves 126 are respectively aligned with the coupling-member-embeddedgrooves 115, and thus the coupling-member-retaininggrooves 126 respectively retain thecoupling members 3. Subsequently, thefastening member 4 is embedded into the fastening-member-embeddedgroove 25 of thecover 2, and thepivot block 23 of thecover 2 is then mounted into thepivot portion 113 of thebody 1. One of thepivot rods 5 extends from the side of thepivot portion 113 of thebody 1 into the corresponding side of thepivot block 23 of thecover 2, and the other one of thepivot rods 5 extends from the opposite side of thepivot portion 113 of thebody 1 into the other corresponding side of thepivot block 23 of thecover 2 to complete the assembly operation. - In the exemplary embodiment, referring to
FIG. 3A , the coupling-member-embeddedgrooves 115 are formed in a surface of thebase surrounding wall 112 of the base 11 that is in contact with thecover 2 when thecover 2 is in the closed state, so that thecoupling members 3 are visible to the user when thecover 2 is in the open state. - In the exemplary embodiment, the
coupling members 3 are configured as magnets and the fastening member is configured as an iron sheet, such that when thecover 2 is in the closed state, thefastening member 4 is in contact with thecoupling members 3 and is magnetically attracted by thecoupling members 3 so as to reliably fasten thecover 2 to thebody 1. -
FIG. 3C is a view similar to the view ofFIG. 3A , but illustrates thebase 11 of thebody 1 of thecosmetic compact 8 includes thebase surrounding wall 112, and the coupling-member-embeddedgrooves 115 molded inside thebase surrounding wall 112. In other embodiments, referring toFIG. 3C , the coupling-member-embeddedgroove 115 may be molded inside thebase surrounding wall 112 of thebase 11, so that thecoupling members 3 are not visible to the user when thecover 2 is in the open state. With such arrangement, when thecover 2 is in the closed state, thefastening member 4 is spaced apart from thecoupling member 3. - In the exemplary embodiment, the
cover 2 is transparent, so that the user can observe cosmetic powder contained in thecosmetic compact 8 without changing the state of thecover 2. In other embodiments, thecover 2 may not be transparent, and may be of a color that is the same as the color of the cosmetic powder, so that the user can still distinguish the color of the cosmetic powder when thecover 2 is in the closed state. -
FIG. 4 is a top view of the cosmetic compact 8 in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure, andFIG. 5 is a sectional view taken along line I-I inFIG. 4 . In some embodiments, referring toFIG. 2 ,FIG. 4 andFIG. 5 , thebody accommodating hole 124 of thebody 1 combines with the coveraccommodating hole 221 of thecover 2 to form anaccommodating space 6. The cosmetic powder is accommodated in theaccommodating space 6. - In the exemplary embodiment, the
cosmetic compact 8 is water-drop-shaped, and in other embodiments, the cosmetic compact 8 may be formed in other polygonal shapes such as a triangular shape, a rectangular shape, a pentagonal shape and a hexagonal shape. - In the exemplary embodiment, the
protrusion 24 and thedepression 114 are shaped according to the shape of thecosmetic compact 8, such that theprotrusion 24 and thedepression 114 are water-drop-shaped. In other embodiments, the shapes of theprotrusion 24 and thedepression 114 may be different from the shape of thecosmetic compact 8. -
FIG. 6 is a schematic view illustrating fivecosmetic compacts 8 assembled together to form a petal pattern. In some embodiments, referring toFIG. 6 , the user may assemble a plurality ofcosmetic compacts 8 together to form a desired pattern for presenting an aesthetic feeling. Referring toFIG. 2 andFIG. 6 , in some embodiments, thecosmetic compacts 8 are juxtaposed to form a cosmeticcompact assembly 9; when thecosmetic compacts 8 are assembled together, thecoupling members 3 of thecosmetic compacts 8 connect with each other to form reliable connections among thecosmetic compacts 8, so that thecosmetic compacts 8 are not easily disassembled. In the exemplary embodiment, when thecosmetic compacts 8 are assembled together, thecoupling members 3 of thecosmetic compacts 8 magnetically attract each other so as to form reliable connections among thecosmetic compacts 8. -
FIG. 7 is a schematic view illustrating thecosmetic compacts 8 assembled together in a sliding dovetail joint manner. Referring toFIG. 7 , in another embodiment, thecosmetic compacts 8 are juxtaposed to form a cosmeticcompact assembly 10. Referring toFIG. 7 , each of thecosmetic compacts 8 includes twocoupling members 3′ configured as a slot and a tail, respectively. When thecosmetic compacts 8 are assembled together, the tail of one of thecosmetic compacts 8 is slid into the slot of an adjacent one of thecosmetic compacts 8 so as to form reliable connections among thecosmetic compacts 8, so that thecosmetic compacts 8 are not easily disassembled. -
FIG. 8 is a schematic view illustrating thecosmetic compacts 8 assembled together in a mortise and tenon joint manner. Referring toFIG. 8 , in still another embodiment, thecosmetic compacts 8 are juxtaposed to form a cosmeticcompact assembly 11. Referring toFIG. 8 , each of thecosmetic compacts 8 includes twocoupling members 3″ configured as a mortise and a tenon, respectively. When thecosmetic compacts 8 are assembled together, the tenon of one of thecosmetic compacts 8 engages the mortise of an adjacent one of thecosmetic compacts 8 so as to form reliable connections among thecosmetic compacts 8, so that thecosmetic compacts 8 are not easily disassembled. -
FIG. 9 is a schematic view illustrating thecosmetic compacts 8 in a vertically stacked configuration. Referring toFIG. 9 , in some embodiments, the user may vertically stack thecosmetic compacts 8 so as to reduce the occupied space for easy carrying. In the exemplary embodiment, thecosmetic compacts 8 are vertically stacked to form a cosmeticcompact assembly 12. With such arrangement, referring toFIG. 1 ,FIG. 2 andFIG. 9 , theprotrusion 24 of one of thecosmetic compacts 8 engages thedepression 114 of a corresponding one of thecosmetic compacts 8. -
FIG. 10 is a schematic view illustrating various patterns that can be formed with the change in shape of each of thecosmetic compacts 8. For example, in some embodiments, a pattern can be formed with six hexagonal-shapedcosmetic compacts 8 and another pattern can be formed with six triangular-shapedcosmetic compacts 8. - In conclusion, with the disposition of the
coupling member 3, thecosmetic compacts 8 can be assembled together for presenting a desired pattern. In addition, with the disposition of thedepression 114 and theprotrusion 24, thecosmetic compacts 8 can be vertically stacked to reduce occupied space. Therefore, the objective of the disclosure is achieved. - One aspect of the present disclosure provides a cosmetic compact that has an innovative structure. The cosmetic compact comprises a body and a cover pivotally connected to the body. In some embodiments, the body includes a depression formed in a side surface of the body that is opposite to the cover. In some embodiments, the cover includes a protrusion formed on a side surface of the cover that is opposite to the body. In some embodiments, the depression of the body corresponds in both shape and size to the protrusion of the cover.
- One aspect of the present disclosure provides a cosmetic compact assembly that can allow a user to assemble a plurality of cosmetic compacts to form a desired pattern. The cosmetic compact assembly comprises a plurality of juxtaposed cosmetic compacts. In some embodiments, each of the cosmetic compacts includes a body, a cover pivotally connected to the body, and a coupling member mounted to the body. In some embodiments, the coupling members of the cosmetic compacts connect with each other to form reliable connections among the cosmetic compacts.
- One aspect of the present disclosure provides a cosmetic compact assembly that can allow a user to vertically stack a plurality of cosmetic compacts for easy carrying. - Although the present disclosure and its advantages have been described in detail, it should be understood that various changes, substitutions and alterations can be made herein without departing from the spirit and scope of the disclosure as defined by the appended claims. For example, many of the processes discussed above can be implemented in different methodologies and replaced by other processes, or a combination thereof.
- Moreover, the scope of the present application is not intended to be limited to the particular embodiments of the process, machine, manufacture, composition of matter, means, methods and steps described in the specification. As one of ordinary skill in the art will readily appreciate from the disclosure of the present disclosure, processes, machines, manufacture, compositions of matter, means, methods, or steps, presently existing or later to be developed, that perform substantially the same function or achieve substantially the same result as the corresponding embodiments described herein may be utilized according to the present disclosure. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to include within their scope such processes, machines, manufacture, compositions of matter, means, methods, or steps.
Claims (20)
1. A cosmetic compact, comprising:
a body; and
a cover pivotally connected to the body;
wherein the body includes a depression formed in a side surface of the body that is opposite to the cover;
wherein the cover includes a protrusion formed on a side surface of the cover that is opposite to the body; and
wherein the depression of the body corresponds in both shape and size to the protrusion of the cover.
2. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising two coupling members mounted to the body and configured as a slot and a tail, respectively.
3. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising two coupling members mounted to the body and configured as a mortise and a tenon, respectively.
4. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a coupling member mounted to the body and a fastening member mounted to the cover, wherein the cover is pivotable between an open state and a closed state, such that when the cover is in the open state, the fastening member is distal from the coupling member, and when the cover is in the closed state, the fastening member is proximate to the coupling member.
5. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 4 , wherein the coupling member is configured as a magnet and the fastening member is configured as an iron sheet, such that when the cover is in the closed state, the fastening member is magnetically attracted by the coupling member so as to reliably fasten the cover to the body.
6. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 5 , wherein:
the body further includes a base and a platform mounted to the base;
the base includes a base wall, and a base surrounding wall extending from a periphery of the base wall to the cover and including a section recessed to form a pivot portion;
the depression is formed in a side surface of the base wall that is opposite to the cover;
the platform includes a platform wall including a portion recessed to form a pivot groove, and a platform surrounding wall extending from the platform wall toward the base wall of the base and defining a body accommodating hole; and
the cover further includes a cover wall, a cover surrounding wall extending from a periphery of the cover wall to the base surrounding wall of the base and defining a cover accommodating hole communicating with the body accommodating hole, and a pivot block extending from the cover wall and the cover surrounding wall through the pivot groove of the platform into the pivot portion of the base.
7. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the platform of the body further includes a supporting fin extending from the platform wall to the base wall of the base.
8. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 7 , further comprising a pivot rod extending through the pivot portion of the base and the pivot block of the cover so as to allow the cover to pivot in relation to the body.
9. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 8 , wherein:
the base of the body further includes a coupling-member-embedded groove disposed for allowing the coupling member to be embedded therein;
the cover further includes a fastening-member-embedded groove disposed for allowing the fastening member to be embedded therein; and
the platform of the body further includes a coupling-member-retaining groove disposed for retaining the coupling member.
10. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the fastening member and the fastening-member-embedded groove are V-shaped.
11. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 10 , wherein the coupling-member-embedded groove is molded inside the base surrounding wall of the base.
12. The cosmetic compact as claimed in claim 10 , wherein the coupling-member-embedded groove is formed in a surface of the base surrounding wall of the base that is in contact with the cover.
13. A cosmetic compact assembly, comprising:
a plurality of juxtaposed cosmetic compacts;
wherein each of the cosmetic compacts includes a body, a cover pivotally connected to the body, and a coupling member mounted to the body; and
wherein the coupling members of the cosmetic compacts connect with each other to form reliable connections among the cosmetic compacts.
14. The cosmetic compact assembly as claimed in claim 13 , wherein:
each of the cosmetic compacts includes two coupling members configured as two magnets; and
the magnets of the cosmetic compacts magnetically attract each other so as to form reliable connections among the cosmetic compacts.
15. The cosmetic compact assembly as claimed in claim 13 , wherein:
each of the cosmetic compacts includes two coupling members configured as a slot and a tail, respectively; and
the tail of one of the cosmetic compacts is slid into the slot of a corresponding one of the cosmetic compacts so as to form a reliable connection between the cosmetic compacts.
16. The cosmetic compact assembly as claimed in claim 13 , wherein:
each of the cosmetic compacts includes two coupling members configured as a mortise and a tenon, respectively; and
the tenon of one of the cosmetic compacts engages the mortise of a corresponding one of the cosmetic compacts so as to form a reliable connection between the cosmetic compacts.
17. The cosmetic compact assembly as claimed in claim 13 , wherein:
the body of each of the cosmetic compacts includes a depression formed in a side surface of the body that is opposite to the cover; and
the cover of each of the cosmetic compacts includes a protrusion formed on a side surface of the cover that is opposite to the body.
18. A cosmetic compact assembly, comprising:
a plurality of vertically-stacked cosmetic compacts;
wherein each of the cosmetic compacts includes a body and a cover pivotally connected to the body;
wherein the body of each of the cosmetic compacts includes a depression formed in a side surface of the body that is opposite to the cover;
wherein the cover of each of the cosmetic compacts includes a protrusion formed on a side surface of the cover that is opposite to the body; and
wherein the protrusion of one of the cosmetic compacts engages the depression of a corresponding one of the cosmetic compacts.
19. The cosmetic compact assembly as claimed in claim 18 , wherein the depressions of the cosmetic compacts correspond in both shape and size to the protrusions of the cosmetic compacts.
20. The cosmetic compact assembly as claimed in claim 19 , wherein:
each of the cosmetic compacts further includes a coupling member mounted to the body and a fastening member mounted to the cover; and
the cover is pivotable between an open state and a closed state, such that when the cover is in the open state, the fastening member is distal from the coupling member, and when the cover is in the closed state, the fastening member is proximate to the coupling member.
