FIGS. 1 through 7 thereof, a new comb device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 7 thescissor comb assembly 10 generally comprises afirst arm 12 that has afirst end 14 and asecond end 16. Thefirst arm 12 has afirst bend 18 thereon to define afirst half 20 of thefirst arm 12 forming an angle with respect to asecond half 22 of thefirst arm 12. Moreover, thefirst bend 18 is centrally positioned on thefirst arm 12 and thesecond end 16 is rounded. Thefirst arm 12 has afirst aperture 24 extending therethrough to insertably receive a finger on hand. Moreover, thefirst aperture 24 is aligned with thesecond end 16 and thefirst half 20 of thefirst arm 12 has afirst surface 26. - A plurality of
first prongs 28 is provided and each of thefirst prongs 28 is coupled to thefirst arm 12 to engage hair in the convention of a comb. Each of thefirst prongs 28 is positioned on thefirst surface 26 of thefirst half 20 of thefirst arm 12. Thefirst prongs 28 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed along the entire length of thefirst half 20 of thefirst arm 12. - A
second arm 30 is pivotally coupled to thefirst arm 12 such that each of the first 12 and second 30 arms forms a pair of scissors. Thesecond arm 30 is selectively urged into a first position having thesecond arm 30 being oriented co-linear with thefirst arm 12. Thesecond arm 30 is selectively urged into a second position has thesecond arm 30 being oriented at an angle with thefirst arm 12. Thesecond arm 30 has aprimary end 32 and asecondary end 34. - The
second arm 30 has asecond bend 36 thereon to define a primary portion 38 of thesecond arm 30 forming an angle with respect to asecondary portion 40 of thesecond arm 30. The primary portion 38 of thesecond arm 30 may be oriented at a right angle with respect to thesecondary portion 40 of thesecond arm 30. Thesecond bend 36 is positioned closer to theprimary end 32 than thesecondary end 34 and thesecondary end 34 is rounded. Thesecond arm 30 has asecond aperture 42 extending therethrough to insertably receive a finger on hand. Moreover, thesecond aperture 42 is aligned with thesecondary end 34 and thesecondary portion 40 of thesecond arm 30 has aprimary surface 44. - A plurality of
second prongs 46 is provided and each of thesecond prongs 46 is coupled to thesecond arm 30 to engage hair in the convention of a comb. Each of thesecond prongs 46 is positioned on theprimary surface 44 of thesecondary portion 40 of thesecond arm 30. Thesecond prongs 46 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed on thesecondary portion 40. Each of thesecond prongs 46 is positioned between associated ones of thefirst prongs 28 when thesecond arm 30 is positioned in the first position. Apin 48 extends through each of thefirst arm 12 and thesecond arm 30 such that thesecond arm 30 is pivotally coupled to thefirst arm 12. Thepin 48 extends through thesecondary portion 40 of thesecond arm 30 and thesecond half 22 of thefirst arm 12. Thefirst arm 12 may be offset with respect to thesecond arm 30 such that thefirst prongs 28 do not interlace with thesecond prongs 46 when thesecond arm 30 is positioned in the first position. - In an
alternative embodiment 50 as shown inFIGS. 5, 6 and 7 , thefirst bend 18 on thefirst arm 12 may be centrally positioned on thefirst arm 12. Moreover, thefirst bend 18 may be aligned with thesecond bend 36. Thesecond half 22 of thefirst arm 12 may be aligned with thesecondary portion 40 of thesecond arm 30. Additionally, each of the first 12 and second 30 arms may have an equal length. - In use, fingers on the hand are extended through each of the first 24 and second 42 apertures to manipulate to
first arm 12 and thesecond arm 30. Thesecond arm 30 is urged into the second position. The first 12 and second 30 arms are positioned proximate a head thereby facilitating each of the first 28 and second 46 prongs to engage hair on the head. Thesecond arm 30 is urged into first position thereby facilitating the first 24 and second 46 prongs to close on the hair. The first 24 and second 30 arms are moved away from the head a selected distance along the hair. A pair of scissors, and any other hair cutting device, is positioned against each of the first 24 and second 30 arms to cut the hair at the selected distance. In this way the hair may be precisely cut and trimmed to the selected length. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
