  • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • This disclosure relates to garments, in particular, garments having adjustment components.
  • BACKGROUND
  • As society as a whole has become more aware of the longer term health benefits of exercise and fitness, exercise and fitness programs are becoming part of daily routines for an increasing number of people. For example, a person may exercise using exercise equipment at a fitness center or may walk or run in a public area, such as a track or sidewalk.
  • Typically, a person exercising wears clothing, such as shirts, shorts, pants, socks, under garments, and shoes, that are adapted to provide comfort, style, and/or other benefits during a person's exercise routine. For example, a person may wear a shirt and shorts made of a material that promotes moister wicking while providing a comfortable fit to allow for appropriate body movement while exercising.
  • A person's business and/or life schedule may dictate when and where the person can exercise. Additionally, the person may change clothes from an attire appropriate for a business and/or life event to clothing appropriate for exercising. This may require carrying a bag with the clothing appropriate for exercising to the business and/or life event and changing from the clothing worn to the business and/or life event in a restroom, locker room, office, or other suitable private place for changing clothes. Time constraints set by business and/or life schedules may limit the amount of time a person has to exercise and, consequently, limit the amount of time the person has to change clothes. Further, it may be undesirable for the person changing clothes to do so in a restroom, locker room, office, or other suitable private place for changing clothes.
  • SUMMARY
  • Disclosed herein are implementations of features, elements, implementations, and embodiments of garments having adjustment components.
  • An aspect of the disclosed embodiments is a garment includes an upper portion adapted to fit an upper portion of a wearer of the garment and a lower portion extending from the upper portion. The garment also includes a first adjustment component disposed within the garment, the first adjustment component being attached to a portion of the lower portion and a first tab disposed on a first location on the garment and extending from the first adjustment component, the first tab being is selectively attachable to a portion of the upper portion. The first adjustment component draws the lower portion toward the upper portion in response to the first tab being moved toward the first location.
  • Another aspect of the disclosed embodiments is a garment includes an upper portion adapted to fit a portion of a wearer of the garment and a first lower portion extending from the upper portion. The garment also includes a second lower portion extending from the upper portion and a first adjustment component disposed within the garment, the first adjustment component being attached to a portion of at least one of the first lower portion and the second lower portion. The garment also includes a first tab disposed on a first location on the garment and extending from the first adjustment component, the first tab being is selectively attachable to a first portion of the upper portion. The first adjustment component draws at least one of the first lower portion and the second lower portion toward the upper portion in response to the first tab being moved toward the first location.
  • Another aspect of the disclosed embodiments is a system that includes a first garment adapted to fit an upper portion of a wearer of the first garment. The first garment includes a first portion, a first retainer disposed on a distal end of the first portion and extending around a diameter of the first portion, a second portion extending from the first retainer, a first tab extending from a first adjustment component that is disposed within the first garment and attached to the second portion at a first anchor, and a second tab extending from a second adjustment component that is disposed within the first garment and attached to the second portion at a second anchor. The system also includes a second garment adapted to fit a lower portion of the wearer of the second garment. The second garment includes a third portion, a second retainer disposed at a first end of the third portion and extending around a diameter of the third portion, a third retainer disposed at a second end of the third portion and extending around a diameter of the third portion, a fourth portion extending from the second retainer, a fifth portion extending from the third retainer, a third tab extending from a third adjustment component that is disposed within the second garment and attached to a fourth portion at a third anchor, and a fourth tab extending from a fourth adjustment component that is disposed within the second garment and attached to the fifth portion at a fourth anchor. The second portion of the first garment is selectively adjustable in response to at least one of the first tab and the second tab being moved toward the first retainer. The fourth portion of the second garment is selectively adjustable in response to the third tab being moved toward the second retainer and the fifth portion is selectively adjustable in response to the fourth tab being moved toward the third retainer.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • As society as a whole has become more aware of the longer term health benefits of exercise and fitness, exercise and fitness programs are becoming part of daily routines for an increasing number of people. For example, a person may exercise using exercise equipment at a fitness center or may walk or run in a public area, such as a track or sidewalk.
  • Typically, a person exercising wears clothing, such as shirts, shorts, pants, socks, under garments, and shoes, that are adapted to provide comfort, style, and/or other benefits during a person's exercise routine. For example, a person may wear a shirt and shorts made of a material that promotes moister wicking while providing a comfortable fit to allow for appropriate body movement while exercising.
  • A person's business and/or life schedule may dictate when and where the person can exercise. Additionally, the person may change clothes from an attire appropriate for a business and/or life event to clothing appropriate for exercising. This may require carrying a bag with the clothing appropriate for exercising to the business and/or life event and changing from the clothing worn to the business and/or life event in a restroom, locker room, office, or other suitable private place for changing clothes. Time constraints set by business and/or life schedules may limit the amount of time a person has to exercise and, consequently, limit the amount of time the person has to change clothes. Further, it may be undesirable for the person changing clothes to do so in a restroom, locker room, office, or other suitable private place for changing clothes. Accordingly, garments, such as clothing appropriate for exercising, having one or more adjustment components that allow a wearer of the garment to change clothes without the use of a restroom, locker room, office, or other suitable private place for changing clothes, may be desirable.
  • In some embodiments, according to the principles of the present disclosure, garments suitable for wearing while exercising may include one or more adjustment components. For example, a top garment, such as a shirt, coat, jacket, undergarment (e.g., bra or sports bra), dresses, tank tops, military fatigues, or other suitable garment, may include an upper portion and a lower portion. The lower portion is adapted to be adjusted responsive to actuating the one or more adjustment components such that the lower portion is drawn toward the upper portion. The lower portion may then be retained by the upper portion. Similarly, a bottom garment, such as shorts, pants, capris, stretch pants, skirts, military fatigues, skorts, or other suitable garments, may include one or more upper portions and one or more lower portions. Each of the lower portions of the bottom garment may be adapted to be adjusted responsive to actuating one or more adjustment components associated with the bottom garment such that the each lower portion is drawn toward a corresponding upper portion of the bottom garment. Each lower portion may then be retained by the corresponding upper portions of the bottom garment. By actuating the adjustment components of the garments, a wearer may be able to wear the garments under other attire, such as a dress, a suite, a dress shirt, dress pants, jeans, shorts, and/or other suitable attire while remaining comfortable. Additionally or alternatively, when the garments are adjusted such that respective upper portions retain corresponding lower portions, the garments may provide upper and lower body support to the wearer and/or may provide desirable aesthetics while worn (e.g., by providing, for example, a trimmer appearance of the wearer).
  • In some embodiments, garments having adjustment components allow a wearer of the garments to wear an alternative (e.g., complete) outfit under other attire, as described above. In some embodiments, the garments having adjustment components are adapted to be concealed (e.g., not visible to others) under the other attire. In some embodiments, a wearer of the garments having adjustment components can change out of other clothing, into the garments having adjustment components by removing the other clothing by releasing respective lower portions from corresponding upper portions by actuating the adjustment components. The garments having adjustment components may be adapted for use by adult men, adult women, and/or children.
  • With reference to FIGS. 1A-1D, a top garment 10 and a bottom garment 20 according to the principles of the present disclosure are generally illustrated. The top garment 10 and the bottom garment 20 comprise one or more suitable materials. For example, the top garment 10 and the bottom garment 20 may comprise: natural fiber materials, such as cotton or other suitable natural fiber materials; synthetic fiber materials, such as polyester, elastane, nylon, or other suitable synthetic materials; or a combination thereof
  • In some embodiments, the top garment 10 may include a shirt or other article of clothing suitable for wearing on an upper portion of a human body. The top garment 10 includes an upper portion 12 and a lower portion 14. In some embodiments, the upper portion 12 and the lower portion 14 comprise the same material. In some embodiments, the upper portion 12 includes a first material and the lower portion 14 includes a second material. For example, the first material may comprise a synthetic fiber material such as elastane and the second material may comprise a different synthetic fiber material such as a microfiber comprising polyester.
  • The upper portion 12 may be adapted to cover a chest and at least a portion of one or both arms of the human body. In some embodiments, the upper portion 12 includes a retainer 16 that is disposed on a distal portion of the upper portion 12 and extends around a diameter of the upper portion 12. In some embodiments, the retainer 16 comprises a rigid or semi-rigid material, such as an elastic material. In some embodiments, the retainer 16 includes other suitable materials, such as one or more of the natural fiber materials and/or the synthetic fiber materials described above. The retainer 16 is adapted to retain the lower portion 14 when the lower portion 14 is adjusted toward the upper portion 12 as is generally illustrated in FIG. 1B.
  • In some embodiments, the upper portion 12 may omit the retainer 16. Additionally, or alternatively, the top garment 10 may omit the retainer 16. For example, as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 26A-26D, the upper portion 12 may be adapted to retain a portion or all of the lower portion 14 when the lower portion 14 is adjusted toward the upper portion 12.
  • The lower portion 14 extends from the retainer 16 away from the upper portion 12. The lower portion 14 is adapted to cover at least a portion of a torso of the human body. In some embodiments, the lower portion 14 is adapted to be retained by the retainer 16 and/or the upper portion 12 when the lower portion 14 is adjusted toward the retainer 16 and/or upper portion 12. For example, the lower portion 14 may be retained behind the upper portion 12 when the lower portion 14 is drawn toward the upper portion 12.
  • In some embodiments, the top garment 10 includes one or more adjustment components 18. In some embodiments, the one or more adjustment components 18 may be disposed on an inside portion of the top garment 10, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18 are disposed between the top garment 10 and the wearer of the top garment 10. In some embodiments, the one or more adjustment components 18 are disposed on an outer portion of the top garment 10 and an inner portion of the top garment 10. In some embodiments, the adjustment components 18 are disposed between and outer portion of the top garment 10 and an inner portion of the top garment 10, such that, the adjustment components 18 are concealed within the top garment 10. In some embodiments, the one or more adjustment components 18 are disposed on an outer portion (e.g., on an exterior portion) of the top garment 10, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18 are visible (e.g., exposed and outwardly visible) while the wearer wears the top garment 10.
  • In some embodiments, an adjustment component 18 may comprise a draw string or rope. The adjustment component 18 may comprise a light weight material, for example, woven cotton. It should be understood that the adjustment component 18 may comprise one or more of the synthetic fiber materials described above, one or more of the natural fiber materials described above, one or more other suitable materials, or a combination thereof In some embodiments, the top garment 10 includes a first adjustment component 18 extending radially around a first portion of the top garment 10 and a second adjustment component 18 extending radially around a second portion of the top garment 10 as is generally illustrated in FIG. 2A, which generally illustrates a front internal view of the top garment 10, and as is generally illustrated in FIG. 2B, which generally illustrates a rear internal view of the top garment 10. While first and second adjustment components 18 are illustrated, the principles of the present disclosure apply to top garments having one, three, four, or any suitable number of adjustment components 18.
  • Each of the first adjustment component 18 and the second adjustment component 18 may be disposed in a fabric channel and/or fabric loops or retainers disposed radially about an interior of the top garment 10, such that, the first adjustment component 18 and the second adjustment component 18 are retained in position within the interior portion of the top garment 10. Each of the first adjustment component 18 and the second adjustment component 18 includes a first end 22 and a second end 24. The second end 24 is disposed on an opposite side of the top garment 10 from the first end 22.
  • Each of the first ends 22 are adapted to connect or attach to a portion of an anchor portion 26 that is disposed at an opposite side of the lower portion 14 from the retainer 16. The anchor portion 26 extends around a diameter of an interior portion of the lower portion 14 and may be secured within the lower portion 14 by a fabric channel and/or fabric loops and/or retainers disposed around the interior portion of the lower portion 14, such that, the anchor portion 26 is retained in position within the interior portion of the lower portion 14. Similarly, each of the second ends 24 are adapted to connect or attach to a portion of the anchor portion 26.
  • In some embodiments, each of the first adjustment component 18 and the second adjustment component 18 includes a tag or tab 28. Each tab 28 extends from a portion of a corresponding adjustment component 18 and is disposed on an exterior or outer portion of the top garment 10. Each tab 28 may be disposed at a one of a plurality of locations on the top garment 10. In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be disposed on at or a top or a bottom of the rear of the upper portion 12 of the top garment 10 or at or near a top or bottom of the front of the upper portion 12 of the top garment 10. In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be disposed on at or a top or a bottom of the rear of the lower portion 14 of the top garment 10 or at or near a top or bottom of the front of the lower portion 14 of the top garment 10. The tabs 28 may be disposed at any suitable location on the top garment 10.
  • Each of the tabs 28 can include any suitable shape and/or size. For example, as illustrated, each of the tabs 28 includes a generally rectangular shape, however, each of the tabs 28 may include a generally oval shape, a rounded generally rectangular shape, a generally square shape, an uneven shape (e.g., having a first portion that is wider than a second portion), or other suitable shape. In some embodiments, each of the tabs 28 comprise a material similar to that of the adjustment components 18, however, it should be understood that the tabs 28 may comprise any suitable material.
  • Each of the tabs 28 include a first end 30 and a second end 32. For a respective adjustment component 18, a corresponding first end 30 is connected or attached to at least a portion of a corresponding adjustment component 18. The tab 28 extends from the first end 30 away from the corresponding adjustment component 18. The second end 32 is disposed on an opposite side of the tab 28 from the first end 30.
  • The second end 32 of the respective adjustment component 18 is positioned on the exterior portion of the top garment 10 such that the second end 32 can be reached by a wearer of the top garment 10. The respective adjustment component 18 is adapted to draw the lower portion 14 of the top garment 10 toward the retainer 16 in response to the corresponding tab 28 being actuated or moved forward and downward toward the retainer 16.
  • In some embodiments, the top garment 10 may include one or more support strips 44. The support strips 44 may be disposed along a side portion of the top garment 10 and may provide support to the wearer of the top garment 10. The support strips 44 may comprise any suitable material, such as, the natural fiber materials described above, the synthetic fiber materials described above, other suitable materials, or a combination thereof
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be disposed at or near a center portion of the top garment 10, such as is generally illustrated in FIG. 13. In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be actuated or moved from the center portion and connected or attached to a portion of the rear portion of the top garment 10, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18 corresponding to the tabs 28 may be drawn around the side of the top garment 10 to the rear portion of the top garment 10. The lower portion 14 may be drawn toward the upper portion 12, as described above.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be disposed at or near a side portion of the top garment 10, such as is generally illustrated in FIG. 14. In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be actuated or moved from the side portion and connected or attached to a portion the lower portion 14 of the top garment 10, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18 corresponding to the tabs 28 may be drawn from the side of the top garment 10 toward the lower portion 14 of the top garment 10. The lower portion 14 may be drawn toward the upper portion 12, as described above. In some embodiments, a first tab 28 may be disposed on a first side portion of the top garment 10 and a second tab 28 may be disposed on a second side portion of the top garment 10 that is opposite the first side portion of the top garment 10. The first tab 28 may be actuated or moved away from the first side portion of the top garment 10 and connected or attached at or near the second side portion of the top garment 10, which draws the lower portion 14 toward the upper portion 12, as described. Similarly, the second tab 28 may be actuated or moved away from the second side portion of the top garment 10 and connected or attached at or near the first side portion of the top garment 10.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be disposed at or near an end portion of the lower portion 14 of top garment 10, such as is generally illustrated in FIG. 15. In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be actuated or moved from the end portion and connected or attached to a portion of the front portion of the top garment 10 at or near a top of the upper portion 12 of the top garment 10, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18 corresponding to the tabs 28 may be drawn out of the end portion of the lower portion 14 toward the top of the upper portion 12 of the top garment 10. The tabs 28 may be connected and or attached to the top garment 10, as described above. The lower portion 14 may be drawn toward the upper portion 12, as described above.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be disposed at or near a center portion of the rear portion of the top garment 10, such as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 24A-24B. The center portion of the top garment 10 may be disposed between the upper portion 12 and the lower portion 14. The tabs 28 may be actuated or moved from the center portion of the rear portion of the top garment 10 and drawn around toward the front portion of the top garment 10, which causes corresponding adjustment components 18′ to actuate, as described. The tabs 28 may be connected or attached, as described, to a center portion of the front portion of the top garment 10, as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 25A and 25B. The lower portion 14 may be drawn toward the upper portion 12, as described above.
  • The top garment 10 includes a plurality of dimensions. For example, as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 2A and 2B, a length of the top garment (a) may be within a range of 25-35 inches. A distance from the top portion of the top garment 10 to the compact line 34 (b) may be within a range of 2-4 inches. A width (c) if the retainer 16 may be within a range of 0.5-2.5 inches. A distance (d) from bottom of the lower portion 14 to the anchor portion 26 may be within a range of 5-9 inches. A distance (e) from the anchor portion 26 to the retainer 16 may be within a range of 8-12 inches. A distance (f) from the bottom of the lower portion 14 to the retainer 16 may be within a range of 15-19 inches. A distance (g) from a first, bottom, side of the retainer 16 to the compact line 34 may be within a range of 8-12 inches. A distance (h) from a top portion of the upper portion 12 to the tab 28 maybe within a range of 2-6 inches. A radial measurement (r) from a portion of the upper portion 12 to the retainer 16 may be within a range of 2-6 inches.
  • FIGS. 3A-3D generally illustrate the top garment 10 transitioning from a fully extended position (generally illustrated in FIG. 3A) to a fully adjusted or retracted position (generally illustrated in FIG. 3D). As is generally illustrated in FIG. 3B, each of the tabs 28 may be actuated or moved from the rear of the top garment 10 toward the front of the top garment 10 and downward toward the retainer 16. As the tabs 28 are actuated or moved toward the retainer 16, corresponding adjustment components 18 rotate or move such the adjustment components 18 move or draw the anchor portion 26 toward the retainer 16.
  • As is generally illustrated in FIG. 3C, as the anchor portion 26 is drawn toward the retainer 16, the lower portion 14 folds or collapses inward on itself and is drawn toward the retainer 16 and the upper portion 12. As the tabs 28 are moved or drawn closer to the retainer 16, a portion of each respective adjustment component 18 extends from an opening on the top garment 10 corresponding to an original location of the tabs 28. FIG. 3D generally illustrates the top garment 10 in the fully adjusted or retracted position. In the fully adjusted or retracted position, the lower portion 14 is hidden or concealed within the upper portion 12 (e.g., adjacent to an inner portion of the upper portion 12). In some embodiments, the anchor portion 26 may be drawn to a compact line 34, generally illustrated in FIG. 2A. In some embodiments, the retainer 16 is adapted to retain the lower portion 14 within the upper portion 12.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28 are adapted to connect or attach to a portion of the retainer 16. For example, as is generally illustrated in FIG. 6A, a tab 28 includes one or more first fastener portions 36. A first fastener portion 36 may include a first portion of a snap fastener, a hook, a loop, a first portion of a hook and loop fastener, a first magnet, other suitable fasteners, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, the tab 28 may include one or more first fastener portions 36 that comprise a loop connected or attached to a first side 38 of the tab 28. The first side 38 is disposed opposite a second side 40. The first side 38 may be disposed on a side of the tab 28 that faces the top garment 10, such that, the first fastener portions 36 are concealed from view when tabs 28 are connected or attached to the retainer 16. The loop may comprise a looped string or other suitable loop that is connected or attached to the first side 38 using conventional methods. In some embodiments, the tab 28 includes two first fastener portions 36, such that, a connection point between the tab 28 and the retainer 16 can be adjusted. For example, a first fastener portion 36 may be disposed on the tab 28 to provide a first connection point with the retainer 16 and a second first fastener portion 36 may be disposed on the tab 28 to provide a second connection point with retainer 16. The first connection point may provide a loose fit for the wearer than the second connection point which may provide a snug or tight fit for the wear of the top garment 10.
  • The first fastener portions 36 are adapted to mate with a respective second fastener portions 42 disposed on a portion of the retainer 16, as is generally illustrated in FIG. 6B. While the second fastener portions 42 are described as being disposed on the retainer 16, the second fastener portions 42 may be disposed at other suitable locations on the top garment 10 and/or the bottom garment 20. In some embodiments, the first fastener portions 36 are adapted to receive and retain a respective second fastener portions 42. The retainer 16 may include one or more second fastener portions 42. For example, the retainer 16 may include a second fastener portion 42 for each tab 28. A second fastener portion 42 may include a second portion of a snap fastener, a hook, a loop, a second portion of a hook and loop fastener, a second magnet having a polarity opposite to a first magnet associated with the a corresponding first fastener portion 36, other suitable fasteners, or a combination thereof In some embodiments, the second fastener portion 42 includes a button or raised fastener configured to receive a corresponding first fastener portion 36. For example, as described above, the first fastener portion 36 includes a loop connected or attached to the first side 38 of the tab 28. The first fastener portion 36 may be looped around the second fastener portion 42. The first fastener portion 36 may be held in place on the second fastener portion 42 by a diameter of the second fastener portion 42. In this manner, the tab 28 is connected or attached and secured to the retainer 16.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28 may be adapted to be connected or attached and secured to a portion of the top garment 10 other than the retainer 16, as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 26A-2D.
  • With reference to FIGS. 4A-4C, an internal view of the bottom garment 20 is generally illustrated. The bottom garment 20 may comprise one or more suitable materials. For example, the bottom garment 20 may comprise natural fiber materials described above, synthetic fiber materials described above, or a combination thereof In some embodiments, the bottom garment 20 may include shorts, pants, or other article of clothing suitable for wearing on a lower portion of the human body. The bottom garment 20 includes an upper portion 12′ and one or more lower portions 14′. For example, the bottom garment 20 includes two lower portions 14′ (e.g., a first lower portion 14′ and a second lower portion 14′) each corresponding to a respective leg. In some embodiments, the upper portion 12′ and each of the lower portions 14′ comprise the same material. In some embodiments, the upper portion 12′ includes a first material and each of the lower portions 14′ includes a second material. For example, the first material may comprise a synthetic fiber material such as elastane and the second material may comprise a different synthetic fiber material such as a microfiber comprising polyester.
  • The upper portion 12′ includes one or more retainers 16′ (e.g., one for each corresponding lower portion 14′) that are each disposed on a respective ends of the upper portion 12′ and extending around a diameter of the respective ends of the upper portion 12′. In some embodiments, each retainer 16′ includes features similar to those described with respect to the retainer 16, described above.
  • In some embodiments, the upper portion 12′ may or omit the one or more retainers 16′. Additionally, or alternatively, the upper portion 12′ may omit the one or more retainers 16′, as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 26A-26D. For example, the upper portion 12′ may be adapted to retain a portion or all of the lower portions 14′ when the lower portions 14′ are adjusted toward the upper portion 12′.
  • Each lower portion 14′ extends from a respective retainer 16′ away from the upper portion 12′. Each lower portion 14′ is adapted to cover at least a portion of a respective leg. In some embodiments, each lower portion 14′ is adapted to be retained by the retainer 16′ and/or the upper portion 12′ when the lower portion 14′ is adjusted or drawn toward the retainer 16′ and/or upper portion 12′. For example, the lower portion 14′ may be retained behind the upper portion 12′ when the lower portion 14′ is drawn toward the retainer 16′ and/or the upper portion 12′.
  • In some embodiments, the bottom garment 20 includes one or more adjustment components 18′. The one or more adjustment components 18′ may be disposed on an inside portion of the bottom garment 20, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18′ are disposed between the bottom garment 20 and the wearer of the bottom garment 20. In some embodiments, the one or more adjustment components 18′ are disposed on an outer portion of the bottom garment 20 and an inner portion of the bottom garment 20. In some embodiments, the adjustment components 18′ are disposed between and outer portion of the bottom garment 20 and an inner portion of the bottom garment 20, such that, the adjustment components 18′ are concealed within the bottom garment 20. In some embodiments, the one or more adjustment components 18′ are disposed on an outer portion (e.g., an exterior portion) of the bottom garment 20, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18′ are visible (e.g., exposed and outwardly visible) while the wearer wears the bottom garment 20.
  • An adjustment component 18′ includes features similar to those described above with respect to the adjustment components 18. In some embodiments, the bottom garment 20 includes a first adjustment component 18′ extending radially around a first portion of the bottom garment 20 and a second adjustment component 18′ extending radially around a second portion of the bottom garment 20 as is generally illustrated in FIG. 4A, which generally illustrates a front internal view of the bottom garment 20, and as is generally illustrated in FIG. 4B, which generally illustrates a rear internal view of the bottom garment 20. The first and second adjustment components 18′ may correspond to a first lower portion 14′. The bottom garment 20 includes a third adjustment component 18′ and a fourth adjustment component 18′ that correspond to a second lower portion 14′. While first—fourth adjustment components 18′ are illustrated, the principles of the present disclosure apply to top garments having one, five, six, eight, or any suitable number of adjustment components 18′.
  • Each of the adjustment components 18′ may be disposed in a fabric channel and/or fabric loops or retainers disposed radially about an interior of the bottom garment 20, such that, the adjustment components 18′ are retained in position within the interior portion of the bottom garment 20. Each of the adjustment components 18′ includes a first end 22′ and a second end 24′. The second end 24′ is disposed on an opposite side of the bottom garment 20 from the first end 22′.
  • Each of the first ends 22′ are adapted to connect or attach to a portion of respective anchor portion 26′ that is disposed at an opposite side of the respective lower portion 14′ from the respective retainer 16′. The anchor portion 26′ extends around a diameter of an interior portion of the lower portion 14′ and may be secured within the lower portion 14′ by a fabric channel and/or fabric loops and/or retainers disposed around the interior portion of the lower portion 14′, such that, the anchor portion 26′ is retained in position within the interior portion of the lower portion 14′. Similarly, each of the second ends 24′ are adapted to connect or attach to a portion of the anchor portion 26′.
  • In some embodiments, each of the adjustment components 18′ includes a tag or tab 28′. Each tab 28′ extends from a portion of a corresponding adjustment component 18′ and is disposed on an exterior or outer portion of the bottom garment 20. Each tab 28′ may be disposed at one of a plurality of locations on the bottom garment 20. In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be disposed on at or a top or a bottom of the rear of the upper portion 12′ of the bottom garment 20 or at or near a top or bottom of the front of the upper portion 12′ of the bottom garment 20. In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be disposed on at or a top or a bottom of the rear of the lower portion 14′ of the bottom garment 20 or at or near a top or bottom of the front of the lower portion 14′ of the bottom garment 20. The tabs 28′ may be disposed at any suitable location on the bottom garment 20.
  • Each of the tabs 28′ may include features similar to those described above with respect to the tabs 28. Each of the tabs 28′ include a first end 30′ and a second end 32′. For a respective adjustment component 18′, a corresponding first end 30′ is connected or attached to at least a portion of a corresponding adjustment component 18′. The tab 28′ extends from the first end 30′ away from the corresponding adjustment component 18′. The second end 32′ is disposed on an opposite side of the tab 28′ from the first end 30′.
  • The second end 32′ of the respective adjustment component 18′ is positioned on the exterior portion of the bottom garment 20 such that the second end 32′ can be reached by a wearer of the bottom garment 20. The respective adjustment component 18′ is adapted to draw the respective lower portion 14′ of the bottom garment 20 toward the respective retainer 16′ in response to the corresponding tab 28′ being actuated or moved forward and downward toward the retainer 16′.
  • In some embodiments, the bottom garment 20 may include one or more support strips 44′. The support strips 44′ may be disposed along a side portion of the bottom garment 20 and may provide support to the wearer of the bottom garment 20. The support strips 44′ may include features similar to those described above with respect to the support strips 44′.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be disposed at or near a center portion of the bottom garment 20, such as is generally illustrated in FIG. 13. In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be actuated or moved from the center portion and connected or attached to a portion of the rear portion of the bottom garment 20, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18′ corresponding to the tabs 28′ may be drawn around the side of the bottom garment 20 to the rear portion of the bottom garment 20. Respective lower portions 14′ may be drawn toward the upper portion 12′, as described above.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be disposed at or near a side portion of the bottom garment 20, such as is generally illustrated in FIG. 14. In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be actuated or moved from the side portion and connected or attached to a portion a respective lower portion 14′ of the bottom garment 20, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18′ corresponding to the tabs 28′ may be drawn from the side of the bottom garment 20 toward the lower portion 14′ of the bottom garment 20. The lower portions 14′ may then be drawn toward the upper portion 12′, as described above. In some embodiments, a first tab 28′ may be disposed on a first side portion of the bottom garment 20 and a second tab 28′ may be disposed on a second side portion of the bottom garment 20 that is opposite the first side portion of the bottom garment 20. The first tab 28′ may be actuated or moved away from the first side portion of the bottom garment 20 and connected or attached at or near the second side portion of the bottom garment 20. Similarly, the second tab 28′ may be actuated or moved away from the second side portion of the bottom garment 20 and connected or attached at or near the first side portion of the bottom garment 20.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be disposed at or near an end portion of respective lower portions 14′ of bottom garment 20, such as is generally illustrated in FIG. 15. In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be actuated or moved from the end portion and connected or attached to a portion of the front portion of the bottom garment 20 at or near a top of the upper portion 12′ of the bottom garment 20, such that, the one or more adjustment components 18′ corresponding to the tabs 28′ may be drawn out of the end portion of respective lower portions 14′ toward the top of the upper portion 12′ of the bottom garment 20. The tabs 28′ may be connected and or attached to the bottom garment 20, as described above. The respective lower portions 14′ may be drawn toward the upper portion 12′, as described above.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be disposed at or near an upper portion of the rear portion of the bottom garment 20, such as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 24A-24B. The tabs 28′ may be actuated or moved from the upper portion of the portion of the rear portion of the bottom garment 20 and drawn around toward the front portion of the bottom garment 20, which causes corresponding adjustment components 18′ to actuate, as described. The tabs 28′ may be connected or attached, as described, to an upper portion of the front portion of the bottom garment 20, as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 25A and 25B. The lower portion 14′ may be drawn toward the upper portion 12′, as described above.
  • The bottom garment 20 includes a plurality of dimensions. For example, as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 4A and 4B, a width (i) of a waist band disposed at or near a top of the upper portion 12′ may be within a range of 0.05-2 inches. A distance (j) from the compact line 34′ to a lower portion of each respective retainer 16′ may be within a range of 3-6 inches). A distance (k) from a lower portion of the respective retainers 16′ to a lower portion of the respective lower portions 14′ may be within a range of 4-8 inches. A distance (l) from the respective anchor portions 26′ to the lower portions of the respective lower portions 14′ may be within a range of 2-5 inches. A width (m) of each retainers 16′ may be within a range of 0.5-2 inches. A length (n) from the top of the upper portion 12′ to the lower portion of the respective lower portions 14′ may be within a range of 15-22 inches. A distance (o) from the top of the upper portion 12′ to the compact line 34′ may be within a range of 5-9 inches. A length (s) of an inner seam of the bottom garment 20 may be within a range of 1-4 inches.
  • FIGS. 5A-5D generally illustrate the bottom garment 20 transitioning from a fully extended position (generally illustrated in FIG. 5A) to a fully adjusted or retracted position (generally illustrated in FIG. 5D). As is generally illustrated in FIG. 5B, each of the tabs 28′ may be actuated or moved from the front of the bottom garment 20 downward toward each retainer 16′. As the tabs 28′ are actuated or moved toward each retainer 16′, corresponding adjustment components 18′ rotate or move such the adjustment components 18′ move or draw respective anchor portions 26′ toward respective retainers 16′.
  • As is generally illustrated in FIG. 5C, as the anchor portions 26′ are drawn toward the respective retainers 16′, the lower portions 14′ folds or collapses inward and are drawn toward the respective retainers 16′ and the upper portion 12′. As the tabs 28′ are moved or drawn closer to the retainers 16′, a portion of each respective adjustment component 18′ extends from an opening on the bottom garment 20 corresponding to an original location of the tabs 28′. FIG. 5D generally illustrates the bottom garment 20 in the fully adjusted or retracted position. In the fully adjusted or retracted position, the lower portions 14′ are hidden or concealed within the upper portion 12′ (e.g., adjacent to an inner portion of the upper portion 12′). In some embodiments, the anchor portions 26′ may be drawn to a compact line 34′, generally illustrated in FIG. 4A. In some embodiments, the retainers 16′ are adapted to retain the respective lower portions 14′ within the upper portion 12′.
  • In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ are adapted to connect or attach to a portion of the respective retainers 16′. For example, each of the tabs 28′ includes one or more first fastener portions 36′ that include features similar to the first fastener portions 36 described above and each retainer 16′ includes one or more second fastener portions 40′ that include features similar to those described above with respect to the second fastener portions 42. Similarly, the tabs 28′ may connect or attach to the respective retainers 16′ in similar fashions as those described above with respect to the tabs 28 and the retainer 16. In some embodiments, the tabs 28′ may be adapted to be connected or attached and secured to a portion of the bottom garment 20 other than the retainer 16′, as is generally illustrated in FIGS. 26A-2D.
  • FIGS. 7A-7C generally illustrate an alternative top garment 10′. The top garment 10′ may include features similar to those described above with respect to the top garment 10. Additionally, or alternatively, the top garment 10′ may include a plurality of anchor portions 26. The plurality of anchor portions 26 may be connected or attached to respective adjustment components 18 in similar fashions as those described with respect to the top garment 10. The top garment 10′ includes one or more tabs 28. The tabs 28 may be disposed on a front portion of the top garment 10′. The tabs 28 may include a hooked portion 48, as is generally illustrated in FIG. 7B, which generally illustrates the top garment 10′ transitioning from a fully extended position to fully adjusted or fully retracted position. The hooked portions 48 of the tabs 28 are adapted to hook onto a portion of the retainer 16.
  • FIGS. 8A-8C generally illustrate an alternative bottom garment 20′. The bottom garment 20′ may include features similar to those described above with respect to the bottom garment 20. Additionally, or alternatively, the bottom garment 20′ may include a plurality of anchor portions 26′. The plurality of anchor portions 26′ may be connected or attached to respective adjustment components 18′ in similar fashions as those described with respect to the bottom garment 20. The bottom garment 20′ includes one or more tabs 28′. The tabs 28′ may be disposed on a front portion of the bottom garment 20′. The tabs 28′ may include a hooked portion 48′, as is generally illustrated in FIG. 8B, which generally illustrates the bottom garment 20″ transitioning from a fully extended position to fully adjusted or fully retracted position. The hooked portions 48′ of the tabs 28′ are adapted to hook onto a portion of respective retainers 16′.
  • FIG. 9 generally illustrates an alternative top garment 10″ and an alternative bottom garment 20″ according to the principles of the present disclosure. Each of the top garment 10″ and the bottom garment 20″ may include one or more zippered portions 50. Each of the zippered portions 50 may be adapted to receive a respective portion of the top garment 10″ and the bottom garment 20″, such that, the respective portions may be stored within the zippered portions 50.
  • FIG. 10 generally illustrates an alternative top garment 10″′ and an alternative bottom garment 20″′ according to the principles of the present disclosure. Each of the top garment 10″′ and the bottom garment 20″′ may include one or more tear away portions 52. Each of the tear away portions 52 may be adapted to unzip, unsnap, or tear away or apart in any other suitable manner, such that, the tear away portions 52 can be folded onto a portion of the top garment 10″′ and the bottom garment 20″′ respectively.
  • FIG. 11 generally illustrates an alternative top garment 100 and an alternative bottom garment 200 according to the principles of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, the top garment 100 may include a compartment 104. The compartment 104 may be disposed on an upper portion 112 of the top garment 100. The compartment 104 may be adapted such that a lower portion 114 may be rolled or folded and brought into the compartment 104. The compartment 104 may include comprise one or more elastic or suitable portions that secure the lower portion 114 within the upper portion 112. In some embodiments, the compartment 104 may be omitted from the top garment 100. In some embodiments, the top garment 100 includes one or more cinching components 102. The one or more cinching components 102 may be disposed on opposite sides of the compartment 104 or opposite side of the top garment 100. The cinching components 102 may be adapted to cinch or tighten the compartment 104 or a portion of the top garment 100, such that, when cinched, the cinching components 102 secure the lower portion 114 within the upper portion 112.
  • In some embodiments, the bottom garment 200 may include one or more compartments 104′. The compartments 104′ may be disposed on an upper portion 112′ of the bottom garment 200. For example, the bottom garment 200 may include one compartment 104′ for each of respective lower portion 114′. The compartment 104 may be adapted, such that, a respective lower portion 114′ may be rolled or folded and brought into the compartment 104′. The compartments 104′ may include comprise one or more elastic or suitable portions that secure the respective lower portion 114′ within the upper portion 112′. In some embodiments, the compartments 104′ may be omitted from the bottom garment 200. In some embodiments, the bottom garment 200 includes one or more cinching components 102′. The one or more cinching components 102′ may be disposed on opposite sides of each respective compartment 104′ or opposite sides of the bottom garment 200. The cinching components 102′ may be adapted to cinch or tighten respective compartments 104′ or a portion of the bottom garment 200, such that, when cinched, the cinching components 102′ secure the respective lower portions 114′ within the upper portion 112′.
  • FIG. 12 generally illustrates an alternative top garment 100′ and an alternative bottom garment 200′ according to the principles of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, the top garment 100′ may include an enveloped portion 106. The enveloped portion 106 may be disposed on an upper portion 112″ of the top garment 100′. The enveloped portion 106 may be adapted such that a lower portion 114″ may be rolled or folded and brought into the enveloped portion 106. The enveloped portion 106 may comprise one or more layers of fabric arranged such that the enveloped portion 106 encases the lower portion 114″ when the lower portion 114″ is rolled or folded into the enveloped portion 106.
  • In some embodiments, the bottom garment 200′ may include one or more enveloped portions 106′. The enveloped portions 106 may be disposed on an upper portion 112″′ of the bottom garment 200′ and may correspond to respective lower portions 114″′. The enveloped portions 106′ may be adapted such that a respective lower portion 114″′ may be rolled or folded and brought into the corresponding enveloped portion 106′. The enveloped portion 106′ may comprise one or more layers of fabric arranged such that the enveloped portion 106′ encases the respective lower portion 114″′ when the lower portion 114″′ is rolled or folded into the enveloped portion 106′.
  • FIGS. 16A-16F generally illustrate an alternative bottom garment 300 according to the principles of the present disclosure. The bottom garment 300 may include a dress, a skirt, or other suitable bottom garment. In some embodiments, the bottom garment 300 is a convertible garment. For example, the bottom garment 300 may be selectively convertible between a dress or a full length skirt to a short skirt or a mini-skirt. The bottom garment 300 may comprise one or more materials. For example, the bottom garment 300 may comprise natural fiber materials, such as cotton or other suitable natural fiber materials; synthetic fiber materials, such as polyester, elastane, nylon, or other suitable synthetic materials; or a combination thereof.
  • The bottom garment 300 includes an upper portion 302, a center portion 304, an intermediate portion 306, and a lower portion 308. The bottom garment 300 includes one or more tabs 310. The tabs 310 may include features similar to the tabs 28, described above. In some embodiments, the tabs 310 may be disposed at or near sides of the bottom garment 300, or at any suitable location on the bottom garment 300. The tabs 310 may be actuated or moved, such that, when the tabs 310 are drawn away from the sides of the bottom garment 300 toward corresponding attachment portions 312. In some embodiments, the attachment portions 312 include features similar to the second fastener portions 42, described above. In some embodiments, the attachment portions 312 include a hook or an eye-look that allows at least a portion of the tabs 310 to be hooked or looped around the attachment portions 312. As is generally illustrated in FIG. 16B, when the tabs 310 are connected or attached to the attachment portions 312, the lower portion 308 is drawn toward the intermediate portion 306.
  • In some embodiments, a first tab 310 may be attached or connected to a first attachment portion 312. The first attachment portion 312 may be disposed on a side of the bottom garment 300 opposite the first tab 310, or at any suitable location on the bottom garment 300. Similarly, a second tab 310 may be attached to a second attachment portion 312. The second attachment portion 312 may be disposed on a side of the bottom garment 300 opposite the second tab 310. As is generally illustrated, portions of correspond adjustment components 314 are drawn out of the bottom garment 300 and cross over one another when the first tab 310 is attached to the first attachment portion 312 and the second tab 310 is attached to the second attachment portion 312.
  • In some embodiments, the first tab 310 may be looped around the first attachment portion 312 and attached to a portion of the bottom garment 300 at or near the second tab 310 and the second tab 310 may be looped around the second attachment portion 312 and attached to a portion of the bottom garment 300 at or near the first tab 310, as is generally illustrated in FIG. 16C. The lower portion 308 and the intermediate portion 306 are drawn up toward the center portion 304. In some embodiments, the lower portion 308 and the intermediate portion 306 are drawn toward a compact line 316, as described above with respect to the compact line 34. FIGS. 16D-16F generally illustrate an internal view of the bottom garment 300 as the bottom garment 300 converts from a full length dress to a short or mini-short, as described with respect to FIGS. 16A-16C.
  • The bottom garment 300 includes a plurality of dimensions. For example, as is generally illustrated in FIG. 16A, a length 300 a of the bottom garment 300 may be within a range of 35-45 inches. A length 300 b from the upper portion 302 to the compact line 316 may be within a range of 3-7 inches. A length 300 c from the upper portion 302 to a lower portion of the center portion 304 may be within a range of 12-18 inches. A length 300 d from the lower portion of the center portion 304 to a lower portion of the intermediate portion 306 may be within a range of 8-12 inches. A length 300 e from a compact line 318 to a lower portion of the lower portion 308 is within a range of 3-7 inches. A length 300 f is from the center of the intermediate portion 306 to the compact line 318 is within a range of 8-12 inches.
  • FIG. 17 generally illustrates an alternative bottom garment 300′ according to the principles of the present disclosure. The bottom garment 300′ may include features similar to those of the bottom garment 300, as described. The bottom garment 300′ includes one or more tabs 310′ and a plurality of attachment portions 312′ disposed circumferentially around the bottom garment 300′. The tabs 310′ include features similar to those of the tabs 310, as described. The attachment portions 312′ includes features similar to those of the attachment portions 312, as described. Each of the tabs 310′ may be connected or attached to one of the attachment portions 312′. As is generally illustrated in FIG. 18, a first tab 310′ and a second tab 310′ may be attached to corresponding attachment portions 312′ on the same side of the bottom garment 300′, which may cause a portion of a side opposite from the corresponding attachment portions 312′ to be drawn toward an upper portion of the bottom garment 300′. Accordingly, the bottom garment 300′ may be selectively adjusted based on which attachment portions 312′ the tabs 310′ are connected or attached to.
  • FIG. 19 generally illustrates an alternative bottom garment 300″ according to the principles of the present disclosure. The bottom garment 300″ may include features similar to those of the bottom garment 300′, as described. The bottom garment 300″ includes one or more tabs 310′ and a plurality of attachment portions 312′ disposed circumferentially around the bottom garment 300″ and along each side of the bottom garment 300″. Each of the tabs 310′ may be connected or attached to corresponding attachment portions 312′. Additional, or alternatively, a portion of correspond adjustment components 314′, which include features similar to the adjustment components 314, as described, may be looped around a corresponding attachment portion 312′. Accordingly, the bottom garment 300″ may be selectively adjusted based on which attachment portions 312′ the tabs 310′ are connected or attached to and/or which attachment portions 312′ the adjustment components 314′ are looped around. As is generally illustrated in FIG. 20, a lower portion of the bottom garment 300″ may be drawn upward toward an upper portion of the bottom garment 300″ when the tabs 310′ are attached to correspond attachment portions 312′ and corresponding adjustment components 314′ are looped around other attachment portions 312′.
  • FIGS. 21A-21E generally illustrate an alternative garment 400 according to the principles of the present disclosure. The garment 400 includes a one piece garment that covers and upper and lower portion of a wearer of the garment 400. For example, the garment 400 may be a full length dress. The garment 400 is selectively adjustable from a full length dress to a short or a mini-skirt, to a shirt or a top, as is generally illustrated. In some embodiments, the garment 400 includes one or more tabs 402. The tabs 402 may include features similar to those of tabs 310, described above. The tabs 402 may be disposed near an upper portion of the garment 400, or any suitable location on the garment 400. The upper portion of the garment 400 extend from a top of the garment 400 to an invisible waistline 401. The waistline 401 is an invisible line shown in dashed line in FIG. 21A. For example, a tab 402 may be disposed at or near a shoulder portion on each side of the garment 400. The tabs 402 may be actuated or moved toward corresponding attachment portions 404 disposed at or near a center or waistline of the garment 400. The attachment portions 404 may include features similar to those of the attachment portions 312, as described.
  • In some embodiments, the garment 400 includes two pulleys 414 disposed within the garment 400. For example, as the tabs 402 are actuated or moved, corresponding adjustment components 416 move in response to the tabs 402 being actuated or moved. The adjustment components 416 include features similar to those described above with respect to the adjustment components 18. The adjustment components 416 may be looped around the pulleys 414 within the garment 400, such that, as the tabs 402 are actuated or moved, the pulleys 414 keep tension on the adjustment components 416. Additionally, or alternatively, the pulleys 414 allow for a longer travel for each adjustment component 416, such that, the tabs 402 may be actuated or moved a short distance toward the attachment portions 404, while the adjustment components 416 travel around the pulleys 414. A lower portion of the garment 400 may be drawn toward an upper portion of the garment 400 as the tabs 402 are connected or attached to the attachment portions 412. The lower portion of the garment 400 may extend from the waistline 401 to a bottom of the garment 400, as is generally illustrated in FIG. 21A.
  • In some embodiments, portions of the adjustment components 416 may be wrapped around the garment 400, as is generally illustrated in FIG. 21E. As the adjustment components 416 are wrapped around the garment 400, the lower portion of the garment 400 may be drawn further up toward the upper portion of the garment 400. A wearer of the garment 400 may selectively arrange and/or rearrange the placement of the tabs 402 and/or the adjustment components 416 to shape or convert the garment 400 as desired. This may allow for a wide range of aesthetic and functional use of the garment 400.
  • FIGS. 22A-22B generally illustrate an alternative garment 400′ according to the principles of the present disclosure. The garment 400′ may include features similar to those of the garment 400, as described. The garment 400′ may include one or more tabs 402 disposed at or near each shoulder portion of the garment 400′. The tabs 402 may be adapted to connect or attach to corresponding attachment portions 404 or the tabs 402 may be adapted to connect or attach to a portion of the garment 400. In some embodiments, corresponding adjustment components 416 may be adapted to be disconnected from an inner portion of the garment 400′, such that, when a corresponding tab 402 is actuated or moved toward an attachment portion 404, a portion of the adjustment component 416 is drawn out of the garment 400′ without drawing a lower portion of the garment 400′ toward an upper portion of the garment 400′. The adjustment components may be adjusted or arranged around or about the garment 400′ to provide a wearer of the garment 400′ with aesthetic options without changing or adjusting a length of the garment 400′.
  • FIGS. 23A-23B generally illustrate an alternative top garment 502 and an alternative bottom garment 504 according to the principles of the present disclosure. The top garment 502 may include features similar to those of the top garment 10. Additionally, or alternatively, the top garment 502 may be designed or manufactured to fit a woman's body. The bottom garment 504 includes features similar to those of the bottom garment 20. Additionally, or alternatively, the bottom garment 504 may be designed or manufactured to fit a woman's body. The top garment 502 includes tabs 506 disposed at or near shoulder portions of the top garment 502. The tabs 506 include features similar to the tabs 28, as described. The tabs 506 may be actuated or moved which causes corresponding adjustment components 508 to rotate or move. The adjustment components 508 include features similar to those of the adjustment components 18, as described. The tabs 506 may be pulled around the top garment 502 and connected or attached to one or more attachment portions, as described. A lower portion of the top garment 502 is drawn toward an upper portion of the top garment 502, as described above. In some embodiments, portions of the adjustment components 508 may be crossed, as is generally illustrated in FIG. 23B. This may provide additional support to a wearer of the top garment 502.
  • The bottom garment 504 includes tabs 506′ disposed at or near an upper portion of the bottom garment 504. The tabs 506′ include features similar to the tabs 28′, as described. The tabs 5-6′ may be actuated or moved around the bottom garment 504 and connected or attached to attachment portions disposed on a rear portion of the bottom garment 504, as described. Corresponding adjustment components rotate or move in response to the tabs 506′ being actuated or moved, which causes lower portions of the bottom garment 504 to be drawn toward the upper portion of the bottom garment 504, as described.
  • FIGS. 27A-27B generally illustrates an alternative top garment and an alternative bottom garment according to the principles of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, the top garment 10 and/or the bottom garment 20 may include one or more cinching mechanisms 21. The cinching mechanisms 21 may be disposed on one or more respective adjustment components, such as one or more of the adjustment components 18 and/or one or more of the adjustment components 18′, as described above. The cinching mechanisms 21 may include any suitable cinching mechanism including spring load toggle stoppers, clamps, or other suitable cinching mechanisms. The cinching mechanisms 21 may comprise any suitable material, such as plastic, metal, or other suitable material. In some embodiments, and as generally illustrated in FIG. 27B, the cinching mechanisms 21 may be used to cinch a portion of the corresponding adjustment components. Additionally, or alternatively, the top garment 10 and/or the bottom garment 20 may omit the first fastener portion and second fastener portion, as described above. Accordingly, the adjustment components may hang freely when the cinching mechanisms 21 cinch a portion of corresponding adjustment components and when the adjustment components are drawn out of the top garment 10 and/or the bottom garment 20. As is illustrated, the cinching mechanisms 21 may operate to retain respective lower portions 14 and/or 14′ when the respective lower portions 14 and/or 14′ are drawn toward respective upper portions 12 and/or 12′ by corresponding adjustment components.
  • In some embodiments, a garment includes an upper portion adapted to fit an upper portion of a wearer of the garment and a lower portion extending from the upper portion. The garment also includes a first adjustment component disposed within the garment, the first adjustment component being attached to a portion of the lower portion and a first tab disposed on a first location on the garment and extending from the first adjustment component, the first tab being is selectively attachable to a portion of the upper portion. The first adjustment component draws the lower portion toward the upper portion in response to the first tab being moved away from the first location.
  • In some embodiments, the lower portion is retained behind the upper portion by a retainer disposed on a distal end of the upper portion and extending around a diameter of the upper portion. The first tab includes a first fastener portion and the retainer includes a second fastener portion adapted to mate with the first fastener portion. In some embodiments, a second tab extending from a second adjustment component that is attached to a portion of the lower portion. A first portion of the lower portion is drawn toward the retainer in response to the first tab being moved away from the first location and wherein a second portion of the lower portion is drawn toward the retainer in response to a second tab being moved away from a second location. The first adjustment component includes a draw string. The first adjustment component is selectively detachable from the portion of the lower portion.
  • In some embodiments, a garment includes an upper portion adapted to fit a portion of a wearer of the garment and a first lower portion extending from the upper portion. The garment also includes a second lower portion extending from the upper portion and a first adjustment component disposed within the garment, the first adjustment component being attached to a portion of at least one of the first lower portion and the second lower portion. The garment also includes a first tab disposed on a first location on the garment and extending from the first adjustment component, the first tab being is selectively attachable to a first portion of the upper portion. The first adjustment component draws at least one of the first lower portion and the second lower portion toward the upper portion in response to the first tab being moved away from the first location.
  • In some embodiments, the at least one of the first lower portion and the second lower portion is retained behind the upper portion by the respective one of a first retainer disposed on a first end of the upper portion and extending around a diameter of the first end and a second retainer disposed on a second end of the upper portion and extending around a diameter of the second end of the upper portion. The first tab includes a first fastener portion and the first retainer includes a second fastener portion adapted to mate with the first fastener portion. In some embodiments, a second tab extending from a second adjustment component that is attached to a portion of the second lower portion, wherein the first attachment portion is attached to a portion of the first lower portion. The first lower portion is drawn toward the first retainer in response to the first tab moved away from the first location and wherein the second lower portion is drawn toward the second retainer in response to a second tab being moved away from a second location. The first adjustment component includes a draw string. The first location is disposed on a side portion of the upper portion. The first location is disposed at a top of a front portion of the upper portion.
  • In some embodiments, is a system that includes a first garment adapted to fit an upper portion of a wearer of the first garment. The first garment includes a first portion, a first retainer disposed on a distal end of the first portion and extending around a diameter of the first portion, a second portion extending from the first retainer, a first tab extending from a first adjustment component that is disposed within the first garment and attached to the second portion at a first anchor, and a second tab extending from a second adjustment component that is disposed within the first garment and attached to the second portion at a second anchor. The system also includes a second garment adapted to fit a lower portion of the wearer of the second garment. The second garment includes a third portion, a second retainer disposed at a first end of the third portion and extending around a diameter of the third portion, a third retainer disposed at a second end of the third portion and extending around a diameter of the third portion, a fourth portion extending from the second retainer, a fifth portion extending from the third retainer, a third tab extending from a third adjustment component that is disposed within the second garment and attached to a fourth portion at a third anchor, and a fourth tab extending from a fourth adjustment component that is disposed within the second garment and attached to the fifth portion at a fourth anchor. The second portion of the first garment is selectively adjustable in response to at least one of the first tab and the second tab being moved toward the first retainer. The fourth portion of the second garment is selectively adjustable in response to the third tab being moved toward the second retainer and the fifth portion is selectively adjustable in response to the fourth tab being moved toward the third retainer.
  • In some embodiments, the first tab is disposed on a rear portion of the first garment and wherein the second tab is disposed on the rear portion of the first garment adjacent to the first tab. The third tab is disposed on a first side of the second garment and the fourth tab is disposed on a second side of the second garment that is opposite the first side. The first portion of the first garment comprises a first material and the second portion of the first garment comprises a second material that is different from the first material and wherein the third portion of the second garment comprises the first material and the fourth portion and the fifth portion comprise the second material.
  • As described, the garments disclosed herein may comprise natural fiber materials, such as cotton or other suitable natural fiber materials; synthetic fiber materials, such as polyester, elastane, nylon, or other suitable synthetic materials; or a combination thereof. Additionally, or alternatively, the garments may comprise materials having a weight between 260 GSM and 280 GSM, may comprise a material comprising 88% polyester and 12% elastane, may comprise a material comprising 92% cationic polyester and 8% elastane, or other suitable materials.
  • As used herein, the terminology “or” is intended to mean an inclusive “or” rather than an exclusive “or”. That is, unless specified otherwise, or clear from context, “X includes A or B” is intended to indicate any of the natural inclusive permutations. That is, if X includes A; X includes B; or X includes both A and B, then “X includes A or B” is satisfied under any of the foregoing instances. In addition, the articles “a” and “an” as used in this application and the appended claims should generally be construed to mean “one or more” unless specified otherwise or clear from context to be directed to a singular form.
  • Further, for simplicity of explanation, although the figures and descriptions herein may include sequences or series of steps or stages, elements of the methods disclosed herein may occur in various orders or concurrently. Additionally, elements of the methods disclosed herein may occur with other elements not explicitly presented and described herein. Furthermore, not all elements of the methods described herein may be required to implement a method in accordance with this disclosure. Although aspects, features, and elements are described herein in particular combinations, each aspect, feature, or element may be used independently or in various combinations with or without other aspects, features, and elements.
  • While the disclosure has been described in connection with certain embodiments, it is to be understood that the disclosure is not to be limited to the disclosed embodiments but, on the contrary, is intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements included within the scope of the appended claims, which scope is to be accorded the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent structures as is permitted under the law.

Claims (19)

What is claimed is:
1. A garment comprising:
an upper portion adapted to fit an upper portion of a wearer of the garment;
a lower portion extending from the upper portion;
a first adjustment component disposed within the garment, the first adjustment component being attached to a portion of the lower portion; and
a first tab disposed on a first location on the garment and extending from the first adjustment component, the first tab being is selectively attachable to a portion of the upper portion,
wherein the first adjustment component draws the lower portion toward the upper portion in response to the first tab being moved away from the first location.
2. The garment of claim 1, wherein the lower portion is retained behind the upper portion by a retainer disposed on a distal end of the upper portion and extending around a diameter of the upper portion.
3. The garment of claim 2, wherein the first tab includes a first fastener portion and the retainer includes a second fastener portion adapted to mate with the first fastener portion.
4. The garment of claim 3, wherein a first portion of the lower portion is drawn toward the retainer in response to the first tab being moved away from the first location and wherein a second portion of the lower portion is drawn toward the retainer in response to a second tab being attached to the retainer.
5. The garment of claim 1, further comprising a second tab extending from a second adjustment component that is attached to a portion of the lower portion.
6. The garment of claim 1, wherein the first adjustment component includes a draw string. The garment of claim 1, wherein the first location is disposed on a rear portion of the upper portion.
8. The garment of claim 1, wherein the first adjustment component is selectively detachable from the portion of the lower portion.
9. A garment comprising:
an upper portion adapted to fit a portion of a wearer of the garment;
a first lower portion extending from the upper portion;
a second lower portion extending from the upper portion;
a first adjustment component disposed within the garment, the first adjustment component being attached to a portion of at least one of the first lower portion and the second lower portion; and
a first tab disposed on a first location on the garment and extending from the first adjustment component, the first tab being is selectively attachable to a first portion of the upper portion,
wherein the first adjustment component draws at least one of the first lower portion and the second lower portion toward the upper portion in response to the first tab being moved away from the first location.
10. The garment of claim 9, wherein the at least one of the first lower portion and the second lower portion is retained behind the upper portion by the respective one of a first retainer disposed on a first end of the upper portion and extending around a diameter of the first end and a second retainer disposed on a second end of the upper portion and extending around a diameter of the second end of the upper portion.
11. The garment of claim 10, wherein the first tab includes a first fastener portion and the first retainer includes a second fastener portion adapted to mate with the first fastener portion.
12. The garment of claim 11, wherein the first lower portion is drawn toward the first retainer in response to the first tab being moved away from the first location and wherein the second lower portion is drawn toward the second retainer in response to a second tab being moved away from a second location.
13. The garment of claim 9, further comprising a second tab extending from a second adjustment component that is attached to a portion of the second lower portion, wherein the first attachment portion is attached to a portion of the first lower portion.
14. The garment of claim 9 wherein the first adjustment component includes a draw string.
15. The garment of claim 9, wherein the first location is disposed on a side portion of the upper portion.
16. The garment of claim 9, wherein the first location is disposed at a top of a front portion of the upper portion.
17. A system comprising:
a first garment adapted to fit an upper portion of a wearer of the first garment, the first garment includes:
a first portion;
a first retainer disposed on a distal end of the first portion and extending around a diameter of the first portion;
a second portion extending from the first retainer;
a first tab extending from a first adjustment component that is disposed within the first garment and attached to the second portion at a first anchor; and
a second tab extending from a second adjustment component that is disposed within the first garment and attached to the second portion at a second anchor; and
a second garment adapted to fit a lower portion of the wearer of the second garment, the second garment includes:
a third portion;
a second retainer disposed at a first end of the third portion and extending around a diameter of the third portion;
a third retainer disposed at a second end of the third portion and extending around a diameter of the third portion;
a fourth portion extending from the second retainer;
a fifth portion extending from the third retainer;
a third tab extending from a third adjustment component that is disposed within the second garment and attached to a fourth portion at a third anchor; and
a fourth tab extending from a fourth adjustment component that is disposed within the second garment and attached to the fifth portion at a fourth anchor,
wherein the second portion of the first garment is selectively adjustable in response to at least one of the first tab and the second tab being moved toward the first retainer, and
wherein the fourth portion of the second garment is selectively adjustable in response to the third tab being moved toward the second retainer and the fifth portion is selectively adjustable in response to the fourth tab being moved toward the third retainer.
18. The system of claim 17, wherein the first tab is disposed on a rear portion of the first garment and wherein the second tab is disposed on the rear portion of the first garment adjacent to the first tab.
19. The system of claim 17, wherein the third tab is disposed on a first side of the second garment and the fourth tab is disposed on a second side of the second garment that is opposite the first side.
20. The system of claim 17, wherein the first portion of the first garment comprises a first material and the second portion of the first garment comprises a second material that is different from the first material and wherein the third portion of the second garment comprises the first material and the fourth portion and the fifth portion comprise the second material.
