  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new oven embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the roll-up door equipped oven 10 generally comprises a stove 12 that defines an internal space 14. The stove 12 is configured to position on a floor. A plate 60 is coupled to the stove 12 and is positioned in the internal space 14 to define an upper chamber 16 and a lower chamber 18. An opening 20 is positioned in a front 22 of the stove 12. The opening 20 is configured to allow a user to access the upper chamber 16.
  • Each of a pair of tracks 24 is coupled to the stove 12 adjacent to a respective opposing side 26 of the opening 20. The track 24 extends along the respective opposing side 26 and curvedly into the upper chamber 16. The track 24 is substantially curvedly L-shaped. In one embodiment, the tracks 24 extend into the upper chamber 16 proximate to a top 28 of the stove 12.
  • A plurality of panels 30 is rollably coupled to and extends between the tracks 24. Each panel 30 is hingedly coupled to an adjacent panel 30 such that each panel 30 is selectively positionable transverse to the adjacent panel 30. In one embodiment, the plurality of panels 30 comprises five panels 30. In another embodiment, the panels 30 comprise tempered glass. In yet another embodiment, the panels 30 comprise dual-paned tempered glass.
  • An actuator 32 is coupled to the stove 12 and is positioned in the internal space 14. The actuator 32 is operationally coupled to the plurality of panels 30. The actuator 32 is positioned to selectively compel the plurality of panels 30 between a closed configuration and an open configuration. In the closed configuration, the panels 30 are positioned to cover the opening 20. In the open configuration, the panels 30 are positioned within the upper chamber 16 and the opening 20 is configured to allow the user to access the upper chamber 16.
  • In one embodiment, the actuator 32 comprises a motor 34 and a chain 36. The motor 34 is coupled to the stove 12 and is positioned in the lower chamber 18. The motor 34 is coupled to a source of alternating current. A shaft 38 is operationally coupled to and extends from the motor 34. A gear 40 is axially coupled to the shaft 38. The gear 40 is positioned on the shaft 38 so that the motor 34 is positioned to compel rotation of the gear 40. A cogwheel 42 is rotationally coupled to the stove 12. The cogwheel 42 is positioned adjacent to an upper edge 44 of the opening 20, adjacent to a respective track 24. The chain 36 is loopedly positioned around and gearedly coupled to both the gear 40 and the cogwheel 42. The chain 36 also is coupled to a respective panel 30. The chain 36 is positioned to rotate around the cogwheel 42 and the gear 40 coincident with rotation of the shaft 38. The chain 36 is positioned to selectively compel the plurality of panels 30 between the closed configuration and the open configuration. In one embodiment, the chain 36 is coupled to a lowermost panel 46.
  • Each of a plurality of wheels 48 is axially coupled to a respective panel 30 and is rollably coupled to a respective track 24. The wheels 48 are positioned to roll within the tracks 24 as the panels 30 are selectively compelled between the closed configuration and the open configuration. In one embodiment, the plurality of wheels 48 comprises four wheels 48 that are positioned singly proximate to each corner 50 of the plurality of panels 30.
  • A controller 52 is coupled to the front 22 of the stove 12. The controller 52 is operationally coupled to the actuator 32. The controller 52 is positioned to compel the actuator 32 to selectively compel the plurality of panels 30 between the closed configuration and the open configuration. In one embodiment, the actuator 32 is positioned adjacent to a right side 54 of the stove 12 proximate to a bottom 56 of the stove 12. In another embodiment, the actuator 32 comprises a pedal 58. The pedal 58 is operationally coupled to the motor 34. The pedal 58 is configured to be depressed a first time by a foot of the user to compel the motor 34 to rotate the chain 36. The chain 36 is positioned to compel the panels 30 from the closed configuration to the open configuration. The pedal 58 is configured to be depressed a second time to compel the panels 30 from the open configuration to the closed configuration.
  • In use, the pedal 58 is configured to be depressed the first time by the foot of the user to compel the motor 34 to rotate the chain 36. The chain 36 is positioned to compel the panels 30 from the closed configuration to the open configuration. The opening 20 is configured to allow the user to access the upper chamber 16. The pedal 58 is configured to be depressed the second time to compel the panels 30 from the open configuration to the closed configuration. The wheels 48 that are positioned on the panels 30 are positioned to roll within the tracks 24 as the panels 30 are selectively compelled between the closed configuration and the open configuration.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
