Abstract

The present Invention of a jumper platform relates to a device used for fitness training, specifically to aid in training the user to jump higher. The jump platform exerciser accomplishes the task with the help of a rope that is enabled to be set at various heights, adjusted by using a lever. Herein, the user is enabled to create a physical mark of the height for jumping which further enables the user to practice for his/her required height and train the muscles in the action of landing, which would not be afforded by jumping on a platform or other barrier with a landing surface on top. The rope is also segmented in such a way that if the user were to catch upon the rope white attempting to jump over it the rope segments will break away, preventing the user from being tripped or caught in the rope.

Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a jump training device which is a device used for fitness training, specifically providing an aid in training the user to jump higher, improve coordination and prevent injury. The jump training device accomplishes the task with the help of a rope that is enabled to be set at various heights and is adjusted using the lever. Herein, the user is enabled to create a physical mark of the height for jumping which further enables the user to practice for their required height and train the muscles so a the action of landing, which would not be afforded by jumping on a platform or other barrier with a landing surface on top. Further the device is also enabled to set low at small intervals adjusted to a subject's height for speed training, as well as balance and coordination exercises.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Measuring the vertical jump height of an athlete is a test performed by athletic coaches and evaluators around the world. It tells how much power the athlete can exert on his or her legs and gives a general idea about the jumping potential of the athlete. While vertical jump height is most often associated with the sport of basketball, it is also pertinent to other sports; such as football. Conventionally, one method of measuring vertical jump height involves a large movable frame having a series of shims extending from the frame side. The athlete would zero the texture to his or her body and then knock a way as many shims as possible while jumping. The knocked away shims indicate the vertical jump of the athlete. The procedure can be prone to cheating if the zeroing phase is not accurate. Additionally, the implements are typically not portable and often times the height indication would be 8 to 12 feet above the level and therefore, not conveniently observed.
  • Moreover, the various instruments present in the market are not portable and do not provide an inbuilt extendable rope, and towers with height measurement properties at various intervals. Also, the user is not able to create a physical mark of the height they can jump or use as an obstacle. Further the user encounters a disadvantage to practice for his/her full height and train their muscles in the action of landing if the training with a raised platform. Platforms are also constructed of one height and many platforms or training aids are required to vary the height afforded by such training devices.
  • Therefore, there remains a need to overcome the above-mentioned problems and our invention resolves these entire problems. For the above-mentioned problems, the present invention provides a perfect solution.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a jump training device which is a device used for fitness training, specifically to provide an aid to train the user to jump higher. The jump training device accomplishes the task with the help of a rope that is set at various heights and is adjusted using the lever. Herein, the user is enabled to create a physical mark of the height for jumping which further enables the user to practice for his/her required height and train the muscles in the action of landing, which would not be afforded by jumping on a platform or other barrier with a landing surface on top.
  • A jump training device for providing an aid in training of at least one user to jump higher, wherein the jump training device is comprised of: at least two towers situated a distance apart from each other; wherein the at least two towers are removably coupled to a rope having a first end, a second end and a breakable segment, wherein the first end of the rope is removably coupled to a first tower and the second end of the rope is removably coupled to a second tower. A set of wheels coupled to a base of the at least two towers enabling reposition of each tower independently; a height measurement unit, coupled at a regular interval along either side of the at least two towers. It includes a lever to slide up or down through a cut out of the at least two towers for adjusting the height of the rope according to the at least one user needs; and a vertical movable chassis coupled to the at least two towers which is further coupled to a spool of rope featuring a rotation spring mechanism used to rotate and retract the spool of the rope.

Herein, the user is enabled to create a physical mark of the height for jumping which further enables the user to practice for his/her required height and train the muscles in the action of landing, which would not be afforded by jumping on a platform or other barrier with a landing surface on top The other elements of athleticism that will be improved is explosiveness, agility, speed and quickness. Various heights will be used to target a different element of athleticism, for instance at low heights (closer to the ground) drills that enhance foot speed is performed for sports such as soccer, football, lacrosse and tennis. Agility and quickness are two of the most important elements of athleticism and is a prime factor to success in any spent and trained at low (close to the ground) to medium heights (knee) on the athletic performance enhancing device. Various drills that train the athlete to adapt a high knee position (hip flexion) followed by a forceful drive down to the ground (hip extension) are performed to enhance this important element of running mechanics which will lead to a faster and efficient stride frequency which in turn will lead to faster running speed. Speed training will be performed at a medium-high (knee to hip) position. The rope is also segmented in such a way that if the user were to catch upon the rope while attempting to jump over it; the rope segments will break away, preventing the user from being tripped or caught in the rope.
  • FIGS. 1 & 2 illustrates the perspective view of the given invention of the j jump training device [100] wherein, the jump training device [100] for providing an aid in a training of the at least one user to jump higher comprises of: at least two towers [102] situated a distance a part from each other; wherein the at least two towers [102] is removably coupled to a rope [104] having a first end [104 a], a second end [104 b] and a rope stop segment [104 c], wherein the first end [104 a] of the retractable rope [104] is coupled to a first tower [102 a] and the second end [104 b] of the retractable rope [104] is coupled to a second tower [102 b]; a set of wheels [106] coupled to a base of the at least two towers [102] enabling reposition of each tower [102] independently; a height measurement unit [108], coupled at a regular interval along either side of the at least two towers [102] having a fever [110] to slide up or down through a cut out of the at least two towers [102] for adjusting the height of the rope [104] according to the at least one user needs; and a vertical movable chassis [112] coupled to the at least two towers, [102] which further comprises a spool of rope [104 d] featuring a rotation spring mechanism used to rotate and retract the spool of the rope [104 d]. The set of wheels [106] also features a locking mechanism for holding the at least two towers [102] at a fixed position. A rotational spring mechanism herein enables the spool of the rope [104 d] to stored energy used to rotate and retract the spool of the rope [104 d]. A rotational spring [not shown] used to provide the rotational spring mechanism to the spool of the rope [104 d] is held in its position by the use of a cog [not shown] to maintain a degree of a rotation of the spoof of the rope [104 d]; a guide hole [not shown] mounted upon and ran along a vertical axis of the at least two towers [102] and guided up and down in relation to a spin of the spool of rope [104 d] by means of a warn gear [not shown]; and a stopper [not shown] attached to an end of the spool of the rope [104 d], wherein the stopper has a larger diameter than an inner diameter of the guide hole. The at least two towers [102] herein is made up of at least one of plastic, fiber, any non-breakable elastic material or the combination thereof. The at least two tower [102] herein carries a spool of rope [104 d] on a vertically movable chassis [112]. The vertically moveable chassis [112] is enabled to be moved by a lever [110] which extends through the at least two towers [102] by height measurement unit [108] that runs vertically up the at least two towers [102] wherein, the height of the lever [110] is enabled to be gauged compared with the markings to the side of the at least two tower [102].   • In the preferred embodiment, the jump training device [100] enables the at least one user to first adjust the height of the rope [104] with the help of the lever [110] according to his/her height requirement. The at least two towers [102] herein carries a spool of rope [104 d] on a vertically movable chassis [112]. The vertically moveable chassis [112] is enabled to be moved by using a lever [110] which extends through the at least two towers [102] by way of a lever [110] that runs vertically up the at least two towers [102] wherein, the height of the lever [110] is enabled to be gauged compared with the markings to the side of the lever [110]. The lever [110] when pushed either up or down enables a clamp attaching the vertical movable chassis [112] to be loosened enough for the vertical movable chassis [112] to travel up or down. When the lever [110] is released the clamp holds the vertically movable chassis [112] in place. The spool of rope [104 d] is integrally coupled to the vertical movable chassis [112] and features a rotation spring inside, which enables the spool of the rope [104 d] to store energy. When the spool of rope [104 d] is protracted it uses the produced energy to rotate and retract. The rotational spring is held in its position by using cogs or catches, which enables the spool of the rope [104 d] to maintain its degree of rotation temporarily until the spool of rope [104 d] is rotated by a short pull of the spool of rope [104 d], enabling the rotational spring to dislodge from its catch and release the stored energy in a rotational fashion, thereby returning the spool of rope [104 d] to its original position. This function enables the at least one user to protract a length of spool of rope [104 d] as needed, setting the length by means of gradual loosening of tension on the spool of rope [104 d] and the spool of rope [104 d] is to retract automatically if it is disturbed from the position that is set by the at least one user.

Claims (7)

What is claimed is:
1. A jump training device for providing an aid in a training of at least one user to jump higher, wherein the jump training device comprises of:
a. at least two towers situated a distance apart from each other; wherein the at least two towers are removably coupled to a rope having a first end, a second end and a breakable segment, wherein the first end of the rope is coupled to a first tower and the second end of the rope is coupled to a second tower;
b. a set of wheels coupled to a base of the at least two towers enabling reposition of each tower independently;
c. a height measurement unit, coupled at a regular interval along either side of the at least two towers which has a lever to slide up or down through a cut out on the at least two towers for adjusting the height of the rope according to the at least one user needs; and
d. a vertical movable chassis coupled to the at least two towers which is further coupled to a spool of rope featuring a rotation spring mechanism used to rotate and retract the spool of the rope.
2. The jump training device in claim 1; wherein the rope having multiple breakable segments enables preventing the at least one user to catch upon the rope while attempting to jump as the rope segments break away, preventing the at least one user from being tripped or caught in the rope.
3. The jump training device in claim 1; wherein the height measurement unit is enabled to create a physical mark of the height for the at least one user to jump which further enables the at least one user to practice for his/her required training.
4. The jump training device in claim 1; wherein the spool of rope is integrally or is removably coupled to the vertically movable chassis.
5. The jump training device in claim 1; wherein the protracted spool of the rope produces the energy by the rotational spring to rotate and retract.
6. The jump training device in claim 5; wherein the energy herein is stored in a rotational fashion, thereby returning the spool of the cord to its original position and enables the at least one user to protract a length of spool of the rope as needed.
7. The jump training device in claim 1; wherein a stopper is attached to an end of the spool of the rope to prevent any dislocation of the vertical movable chassis.
