Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • Embodiments described herein generally relate to clip mechanisms, and more particularly to ornamental clip-on devices.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • It is common practice for people to use cakes or other forms of food articles to celebrate an occasion. Oftentimes people will add attachments, such as candles or sparkles, to the food article to memorialize the occasion. These attachments may be easily used with food articles by merely inserting the attachment into the food article. On the contrary, these accessories cannot be easily used with beverages. Hence, there is a need for accessories that can be used with food or beverages.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • Exemplary embodiments disclosed herein describe a detachable combined ornament and clip device including an ornamental article, an aperture, and a clip mechanism. The ornamental article includes a body including an aperture located on the top portion of the body. The aperture includes a storage unit for holding an attachment. The clip is integrally formed with the ornamental article for attaching the combined ornament and clip device onto a rim of a container.
  • In some exemplary embodiments, the body of the ornamental article includes a hollow interior surrounding the clip mechanism.
  • In some exemplary embodiments, a rear side of the body has an open structure such that the interior of the body is visible from the rear side.
  • In some exemplary embodiments, the top portion of the body of the ornamental article includes a bobeche surrounding the aperture.
  • In some exemplary embodiments, the container includes at least one from the group comprising glassware, tableware, a can, a tin, and a carton.
  • In some exemplary embodiments, the attachment includes at least one from the group comprising a candle, a sparkler, a sign, and an edible article.
  • In some exemplary embodiments, the ornamental article includes at least one from the group comprising a heart, a cupcake, a gift box, and a dollar sign.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The various advantages of the embodiments of the present disclosure will become apparent to one skilled in the art by reading the following specification and appended claims, and by referencing the following drawings, in which:
  • FIGS. 1a-1e show an exemplary combined ornament and clip device, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, attached to glassware, front view thereof, side view thereof, rear view thereof, and top view thereof respectively;
  • FIGS. 2a-2e show an exemplary combined ornament and clip device, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, attached to glassware, front view thereof, side view thereof, rear view thereof, and top view thereof 1, respectively;
  • FIGS. 3a-3c show an exemplary combined ornament and clip device, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a perspective view thereof, side view thereof and top view thereof.
  • FIGS. 4a-4c show an exemplary combined ornament and clip device, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, perspective view thereof, side view thereof and front view thereof.
  • DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The present disclosure describes a combined ornament and clip device (“the device”). As illustrated in FIGS. 1a and 2 a, a user may attach the device 100, 200 to the rim 104, 204 of a container 103, 203, such as, for example, a wine glass. The device may include an enclosed attachment 102, 202, such as, for example, a candle. The device provides users with a versatile accessory option to use when celebrating a special occasion which can be used with food or beverages. The container may include, for example, any glassware, suitable tableware, bottle, can, jar, tin or carton.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1a -2 e, the device includes an ornamental article 105, 205 and a clip mechanism 110, 210. The ornamental article 105, 205 includes a body 107, 207. The body includes a hollow interior 122, 222 which surrounds the clip mechanism. The rear side 130, 230 of the body has an open structure such that the interior of the body is visible upon inspection. The hollow interior and open rear structure of the body allow the external peripheral edges of the device to lie flush with the exterior surface of the container when the device is attached thereto.
  • The top portion 109, 209 of the body includes an aperture 115, 215. The aperture includes a storage unit 111, 211 for holding an attachment. The attachment may include, for example, a candle, a sparkler, a sign, an edible article, or any other article suitable to fit into the aperture and the storage holder.
  • In an alternative embodiment, the top portion 209 of the body 207 includes a bobeche 220 surrounding the aperture 215. The bobeche may include, for example, a glass collar to catch candle drippings or any other suitable drippings.
  • As illustrated in FIGS. 1a -4 c, the ornamental article 105, 205, 305, 405 may include any ornamental design, such as, for example, a cupcake design, a heart design, a gift box, and a dollar sign design. The ornamental article may be constructed of any suitable materials, such as, for example, plastic, and metal.
  • As illustrated in FIGS. 1c and 2 c, the clip mechanism 110, 210 is integrally formed with the body 107, 207 of the ornamental article 105, 205. The clip mechanism may include any conventional clip structures, such as, for example, a hook, an edge clip, a U-clip, etc. The clip mechanism may be constructed of any suitable materials, such as, for example, plastic and metal.
  • FIGS. 3a-3c illustrate a perspective view, side view and top view, respectively, of the device having an ornamental article 305 including a body 307, a clip mechanism 310 integrally formed with the body, and an aperture 315 included on the top portion 309 of the body.

  • In an alternative embodiment, plural devices may be attached to the rim of a container.
  • It is to be understood that the above description is intended to be illustrative, and not restrictive. The above-discussed embodiments may be used in combination with each other. Many other embodiments will be apparent to those of skill in the art upon reviewing the above description.
  • Plural instances may be provided for components, operations or structures described herein as a single instance. Finally, boundaries between various components are somewhat arbitrary, and particular operations are illustrated in the context of specific illustrative configurations. Other allocations of functionality are envisioned and may fall within the scope of the inventive subject matter.
