Description
- The present invention relates to shoe technology and more particularly to a glueless shoe sole assembly, which facilitates mounting and dismounting between an outsole and a midsole without using any glue.
- The sole structure of a shoe is mainly composed of an outsole and a midsole. The outsole and the midsole of a shoe sole are commonly fastened together by bonding or stitching. The process of fastening an outsole and a midsole by bonding needs to use a large amount of glue. Industrial glue has a direct health hazard to shoe manufacturing workers, and can cause damage to the environment. This bonding technique has been inconsistent with today's environmental protection requirements. With respect to stitching techniques, China Patent No. CN2268408Y discloses a stitch hole-based upper and sole mounting design. According to this design, it is necessary to make stitch holes on the outsole before mounting, so it is prone to develop water seepage problems. Further, because the midsole and the upper are directly stitched together to the outsole, disassembly and cleaning are very inconvenient. Further, Taiwan Patent No. M512936 discloses a glueless sole structure design. According to this design, a thin film having thermal shrinkage and melting characteristics is set in between a midsole and an outsole and then heated to wrap about the midsole and to bond the outsole and the midsole together. Although this technique eliminates a tackiness process, the use of a film having thermal shrinkage and melting characteristics needs a heat treatment, thereby increasing the manufacturing process.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a glueless shoe sole assembly, which comprises an outsole and a midsole. The outsole comprises an accommodation cavity adapted for accommodating the midsole, and an endless internal mounting groove extending around the accommodation cavity. The midsole comprises a bottom wall detachably inserted into the accommodation cavity of the outsole, and an endless mounting portion extending around the bottom wall and detachably press-fitted into the endless internal mounting groove of the outsole to secure the midsole to the outsole tightly. Thus, the outsole and the midsole can be fastened together easily and rapidly without using any glue.
- According to another aspect of the present invention, the outsole is a dual layer member comprising an upper layer and a bottom layer joined together. The upper layer and the bottom layer may be made of different materials. The outsole further comprises an endless external mounting groove extending around the periphery thereof for the mounting and fixation of a contact part of an upper. Thus, the outsole and the upper can be fastened together easily and rapidly without using any glue or creating stitching holes, thus preventing water seepage.
- According to another aspect of the present invention, the endless internal mounting groove of the outsole and the endless mounting portion of the midsole are configured to match to each other. Preferably, the endless internal mounting groove of the outsole is a beveled groove; the endless mounting portion of the midsole is a beveled flange fitting the beveled shape of the endless internal mounting groove of the outsole.
- Other advantages and features of the present invention will be fully understood by reference to the following specification in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which like reference signs denote like components of structure.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a glueless shoe sole assembly in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is a bottom view of the outsole of the glueless shoe sole assembly in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is a side view of the outsole of the glueless shoe sole assembly in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along line A-A ofFIG. 2 . -
FIG. 5 is a top view of the outsole of the glueless shoe sole assembly in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is a schematic sectional exploded view of the glueless shoe sole assembly in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 7 is a sectional view taken along line B-B ofFIG. 5 . -
FIG. 8 is a schematic drawing illustrating the outer appearance of a shoe using the glueless shoe sole assembly in accordance with the present invention. - Referring to the annexed drawings in detail, a glueless shoe sole assembly in accordance with the present invention is shown. The glueless
shoe sole assembly 10 comprises anoutsole 1 and a midsole 2 (seeFIG. 1 ). - The
outsole 1, as illustrated inFIGS. 2-5 , comprises anaccommodation cavity 11, and an endlessinternal mounting groove 12 extending around theaccommodation cavity 11. The material of theoutsole 1 can be, but not limited to, natural or synthetic leather. - The
midsole 2, as illustrated inFIG. 6 , comprises abottom wall 21, anendless mounting portion 22 extending around thebottom wall 21. Theendless mounting portion 22 can be press-fitted into the endlessinternal mounting groove 12 of theoutsole 1 to tightly secure themidsole 2 to the inside of theaccommodation cavity 11 of theoutsole 1, facilitating mounting and dismounting without using any glue. - As illustrated in
FIG. 4 andFIGS. 6-7 , theoutsole 1 is a dual layer member comprising an upper layer 1 a and abottom layer 1 b joined together. In this embodiment, theaccommodation cavity 11 is formed on the upper side of theupper layer 1. Theoutsole 1 further comprises an endlessexternal mounting groove 13 extending around the outer periphery thereof for the mounting and fixation of a contact part of an upper 3. Thus, theoutsole 1 and the upper 3 can be fastened together easily and rapidly without using any glue or creating stitching holes, thus preventing water seepage. - The endless
internal mounting groove 12 of theoutsole 1 and theendless mounting portion 22 of thebottom wall 21 of themidsole 2 are configured to match to each other. Further, the endlessinternal mounting groove 12 and theendless mounting portion 22 are respectively configured to provide a respectivebeveled mating surface 121 or 221 (seeFIG. 6 ). By means of mating design between thebeveled mating surface 121 of the endlessinternal mounting groove 12 and thebeveled mating surface 221 of theendless mounting portion 22, theoutsole 1 and themidsole 2 can be quickly and accurately guided into engagement with each other, facilitating quick mounting and dismounting of themidsole 2. - Referring to
FIG. 8 , the above-described upper 3 refers to the combination of the front, back and lateral surfaces of the shoe. The overall shape or composition of the shoe can be changed according to different requirements without limitation. - Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. For example, the endless
internal mounting groove 12 of theoutsole 1 can be a beveled groove; theendless mounting portion 22 that extends around thebottom wall 21 of themidsole 2 can be a beveled flange fitting the beveled endlessinternal mounting groove 12 of theoutsole 1 for quick mounting. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
