Description

  • This application claims benefit of priority to prior Swiss national application no. CH01490/16 filed on Nov. 10, 2016, and the entirety of this priority Swiss application no. CH01490/16 is expressly incorporated herein by reference in its entirety and as to all its parts, for all intents and purposes, as if identically set forth in full herein.
  • BACKGROUND
  • The present disclosure relates to gloves that are particularly designed for participation in active, primarily winter-type, sports activities.
  • Gloves are used for summer sports and also for winter sports. They are firstly intended to protect the hands from injury when participating in a sporting activity and/or to allow better contact with the sports equipment, for example a trekking pole or ski stick. Hence, in accordance with WO2006/066424A1 a glove is provided as a hand-holding device with a movable loop between the thumb and index finger which is suitable for fastening the glove to a hook-like device on a stick handle. In the region of the hook-like device, engagement means are arranged in such a manner that a ring-shaped or eyelet-shaped device is fixed on the glove in the hook-like device. In another embodiment according to EP0919147B1, the loop is adjustable and also has a tensioning element arranged at an angle to the loop. With a further glove of this kind per DE20119283U1, the loop is formed between the thumb and index finger as a tensionable belt that can be tensioned and fixed by a Velcro® fastening, in order to tighten the glove around the hand.
  • In the case of a golf glove according to AT8121U1, a belt can be closed in the palm of the hand, including a golf club.
  • Particularly in the case of sporting participation in winter or in the case of winter sports, good protection against cold and snow or ice should also be achieved. Snow and ice may, however, penetrate as far as the loop and melt there.
  • SUMMARY
  • Among the problems addressed within the scope of the present disclosure is that of further improving gloves, in particular for winter sports participation, while avoiding disadvantages of the state of the art. In particular, protection against snow and ice should be easily created and managed. Solutions should preferably also protect the wrist region and, in addition, seal the glove for the most part, or completely, when it is not being worn.
  • The problem may be solved within the scope of the present disclosure. An exemplary glove according to the present disclosure comprises a region for the hand (or the body of the hand), and attached thereto a region for the wrist; this latter region extending, in direction towards a user's or wearer's elbow, to a closure of the glove.
  • According to the present disclosure, the sleeve-like region of the wrist has an opening with an inner closure, wherein in the inner closure a closure cord is arranged in such a manner as to be capable of being pulled or tightened. This cord is, in turn, connected to a safety strap that has free end which is, in use, preferably attached to a user's wrist.
  • Preferred and possible versions and variants shall be understood via the present disclosure.
  • A free end of a safety strap may preferably be designed as a strap loop that is adjustable elastically, or as to its extent.
  • The cord in the glove wrist region is threaded through and movably situated in a cord casing. This cord casing may preferably be located inside the glove. However, it is also contemplated and possible for the cord casing to be arranged on the outside of the glove.
  • The drawcord is tightened, in particular when the glove is not being worn, if the glove is dangling from the wrist by the safety strap, for example. The opening of the glove's inner closure in this case is reduced to such an extent that no snow or ice may penetrate the glove. Such a closing of a glove's inner closure generally prevents a glove from cooling off quickly by stopping or impeding open ventilation.
  • Furthermore, a glove may be provided with an adjustable strap in the region of the carpus, so that the glove encloses the hand in as non-slip a manner as possible.
  • Gloves according to the present disclosure may preferably be produced from customary glove materials, but would not exclude the possibility of utilizing future novel materials.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • There are described in greater detail below some exemplary versions with the help of the appended drawings. In the drawings:
  • FIG. 1—depicts an exemplary glove according to the present disclosure;
  • FIG. 2—depicts an opening in a glove according to FIG. 1;
  • FIG. 3—depicts a representation of the closing movement of the opening of FIG. 2; and,
  • FIG. 4—depicts a closed opening of a glove according to the present disclosure.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • Any reference in this specification via terminology such as “one version,” “a version,” “a variant,” and “one variant,” should be understood to mean that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic described in connection with the version or variant is included in at least one such version or variant according to the disclosure. The appearances of phrases “in one/a version,” “in one/a variant,” and the like in various places in the specification are not necessarily all referring to the same variant, or version; nor are separate or alternative versions or variants necessarily mutually exclusive of other possible versions or variants. Moreover, various features are described which may possibly be exhibited by some versions or variants. Similarly, various requirements may be described, and some may be requirements for some versions or variants, but not others. Furthermore, if the specification states a component or feature “may”, “can”, “could”, or “might” be included or have a characteristic, via such terminology it should be understood that such particular component or feature may possibly not always necessarily be required to be included or have the characteristic. Additionally, as used throughout this specification, the terms ‘a’, ‘an’, ‘at least’ do not necessarily denote a limitation of quantity, but rather denote the presence of at least one of the referenced item, and any usage of the term ‘a plurality’ denotes the presence of more than one referenced items.
  • An exemplary glove 1 according to the present disclosure in a version according to FIG. 1 includes a hand region 7 or the hand itself, and another region 8 attached thereto for the wrist. In use, the latter region extends in a direction towards a user elbow, to the closure of the glove.
  • According to the present disclosure, the region of the wrist 8 has an opening with an inner closure 2, wherein arranged in the inner closure 2 is a cord 3 that may be pulled or tightened. This drawcord 3 is guided movably in the region for the wrist 8 in a cord casing 4 extending through 360°. In this version, the cord casing 4 is located inside the glove 1, for example as depicted, on the inner closure 2 (FIGS. 1 and 2). Here, the distance from the outer edge of the glove 1 may be approximately 3-4 cm, for example.
  • The cord 3 is in turn connected to a safety strap 5, the free end of which is attached, in this example in the form of an elastic strap loop 9, to the wrist (FIGS. 1 and 3).
  • By pulling on the safety strap 5 and thus the cord 3 connected thereto, the cord casing 4 inside the glove 1 is pulled together, as depicted in FIG. 3, and the opening of the glove 1 or else of the inner closure 2 is drawn towards closing, as depicted in FIG. 4.
  • More particularly, it should be understood that the cord 3 is pulled up, that is to say out of the casing, when a glove 1 is not being worn, for example if a glove is dangling, or dropped to dangle, from a user's wrist while held by the safety strap 5. The cord casing 4 is gathered up or converged, as depicted in FIG. 4.
  • The opening of the glove's inner closure 2 is, in this event, reduced to such an extent, as depicted in FIG. 4, that no snow or ice can penetrate the glove 1. Such a closing of a glove's inner closure generally prevents a glove from cooling off quickly.
  • Furthermore, as depicted in FIG. 1, the glove 1 is provided with an adjustable loop 6 in the region of the carpus, so that the glove encloses the hand in as non-slip a manner as possible. The loop 6 serves to close the glove 1 or to regulate the width of the glove 1 over the lower, hand knuckles and the upper palm, as well as the wrist, of a user.
  • In closing, it should be noted that the above description is intended to illustrate rather than limit the invention, and that readers skilled in the technological art shall be capable of designing alternative versions without departing from the protected scope of invention as set forth by the appended claims. As equivalent elements may be substituted for elements employed in claimed invention so as to obtain substantially the same results in substantially the same way, the protected scope of the present invention is defined by the appended claims, including known equivalents and unforeseeable equivalents at the time of filing of this application. Furthermore, in the following claims, the verb ‘comprise’ and its conjugations do not exclude the presence of elements or steps other than those listed in any claim or the specification as a whole. The singular reference of an element does not necessarily exclude the plural reference of such elements and vice-versa. The mere fact that certain elements or steps may be recited in mutually different dependent claims does not necessarily indicate that a combination of these elements or steps cannot possibly be used to advantage.
