Abstract
A weighted exercising device for attachment to a foot of a user includes a shoe that is configured to couple to the foot of the user. A plate is coupled to a sole of the shoe. A pair of couplers is coupled singly to and extends from opposing sides of the plate proximate to a back of the plate. A plurality of weights is selectively couplable to the couplers. The improvement is the plate being coupled to the shoe such that the couplers are positioned to selectively couple to respective weights, wherein a selected degree of resistance is provided during exercise.

- The disclosure and prior art relates to exercising devices and more particularly pertains to a new exercising device for attachment to a foot of a user.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a shoe that is configured to couple to the foot of the user. A plate is coupled to a sole of the shoe. A pair of couplers is coupled singly to and extends from opposing sides of the plate proximate to a back of the plate. A plurality of weights is selectively couplable to the couplers. The improvement is the plate being coupled to the shoe such that the couplers are positioned to selectively couple to respective weights, wherein a selected degree of resistance is provided during exercise.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new exercising device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the weighted exercisingdevice 10 generally comprises ashoe 12 that is configured to couple to a foot of a user. Aplate 14 is coupled to a sole 16 of theshoe 12. Theplate 14 is rigid. In one embodiment, theplate 14 comprises metal. In another embodiment, theplate 14 is substantially complementary to the sole 16 of theshoe 12. - A plurality of
first connectors 18 is coupled to theplate 14. In one embodiment, the plurality offirst connectors 18 comprises threefirst connectors 18, such that twofirst connectors 18 are positioned proximate to aback 20 of theplate 14 and onefirst connector 18 is positioned proximate to afront 22 of theplate 14. - A plurality of
second connectors 24 is coupled to the sole 16 of theshoe 12. Thesecond connectors 24 are complementary to thefirst connectors 18. Eachsecond connector 24 is positioned on theshoe 12 such that thesecond connector 24 is positioned to couple to an associatedfirst connector 18 to couple theshoe 12 to theplate 14. In another embodiment, eachfirst connector 18 comprises ahole 26 through theplate 14 and anut 28. In this embodiment, eachsecond connector 24 comprises a threadedscrew 30. The threadedscrews 30 are complementary to thenuts 28. - A pair of
couplers 32 is coupled singly to and extends fromopposing sides 34 of theplate 14 proximate to theback 20 of theplate 14. In one embodiment, the pair ofcouplers 32 comprises achannel 36 that extends between theopposing sides 34 of theplate 14. Arod 38 is positioned through thechannel 36 such that threadedsections 40 of therod 38 protrude from eachopposing side 34 of theplate 14. In another embodiment, therod 38 is coupled to theplate 14. Each of a pair ofcollars 42 is complementary to and reversibly couplable to the threadedsections 40. - A plurality of
weights 44 is selectively couplable to thecouplers 32. In one embodiment, eachweight 44 comprises adisk 46. Apenetration 48 is axially positioned through thedisk 46. In another embodiment, thedisk 46 comprises metal. Thepenetration 48 is positioned through thedisk 46 such that thepenetration 48 is positioned for insertion of a respective threadedsection 40 of therod 38. The respective threadedsection 40 is positioned to couple to arespective collar 42, such that theweight 44 is coupled to theplate 14. - A
strap 50 is coupled to and extends from theplate 14.Opposing ends 52 of thestrap 50 are positionable proximate to atop 54 of theshoe 12. Afastener 56 is coupled to thestrap 50. Thefastener 56 is couplable to thestrap 50 to form aloop 58 around theshoe 12. Thefastener 56 is positioned on thestrap 50 such that thefastener 56 is positioned to couple to thestrap 50 to couple the foot of the user to theplate 14. In one embodiment, thefastener 56 comprises abuckle 60. - In use, the
second connectors 24 are positioned on theshoe 12 such that thesecond connector 24 are positioned to couple to the associatedfirst connectors 18 to couple theshoe 12 to theplate 14. Theshoe 12 is configured to couple to the foot of the user. Thepenetration 48 is positioned through thedisk 46 such that thepenetration 48 is positioned for insertion of the respective threadedsection 40 of therod 38. The respective threadedsection 40 is positioned to couple to therespective collar 42 such that theweight 44 is coupled to theplate 14. The plurality ofweights 44 is selectively couplable to theplate 14 such that a selected degree of resistance is provided during exercise. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims (14)
1. A weighted exercising device comprising:
a shoe configured for coupling to a foot of a user;
a plate coupled to a sole of said shoe through a bottom surface of said sole, said plate having a shape substantially equivalent to a shape of said sole of said shoe wherein opposing sides of said plate are vertically aligned with outer edges of said sole;
a pair of couplers coupled singly to and extending from said opposing sides of said plate proximate to a back of said plate;
a plurality of weights selectively couplable to said couplers; and
wherein said plate is coupled to said shoe such that said couplers are positioned for selective coupling to respective said weights, wherein a selected degree of resistance is provided during exercise.
2. The device of claim 1 , further including said plate being rigid.
3. The device of claim 2 , further including said plate comprising metal.

5. The device of claim 1 , further including said pair of couplers comprising:
a channel extending between said opposing sides of said plate;
a rod positioned through said channel such that threaded sections of said rod protrude from each said opposing side of said plate; and
a pair of collars, said collars being complementary to and reversibly couplable to said threaded sections.
6. The device of claim 5 , further including said rod being coupled to said plate.
7. The device of claim 5 , further including each said weight comprising:
a disk;
a penetration axially positioned through said disk; and
wherein said penetration is positioned through said disk such that said penetration is positioned for insertion of a respective said threaded section of said rod, wherein said respective said threaded section is positioned for coupling to a respective said collar such that said weight is coupled to said plate.
8. The device of claim 7 , further including said disk comprising metal.
9. The device of claim 1 , further comprising:
a plurality of first connectors coupled to said plate;
a plurality of second connectors coupled to a sole of said shoe, said second connectors being complementary to said first connectors; and
wherein each said second connector is positioned on said shoe such that said second connector is positioned to couple to an associated said first connector to couple said shoe to said plate.
10. The device of claim 9 , further including said plurality of first connectors comprising three said first connectors such that two said first connectors are positioned proximate to said back of said plate and one said first connector is positioned proximate to a front of said plate.
11. The device of claim 9 , further comprising:
each said first connectors comprising a hole through said plate and a nut; and
said second connectors comprising threaded screws, said threaded screws being complementary to said nuts.
12. The device of claim 1 , further comprising:
a strap coupled to and extending from said plate such that opposing ends of said strap are positionable proximate to a top of said shoe;
a fastener coupled to said strap, said fastener being couplable to said strap to form a loop around said shoe; and
wherein said fastener is positioned on said strap such that said fastener is positioned to couple to said strap to couple the foot of the user to said plate.
13. The device of claim 12 , further including said fastener comprising a buckle.
14. A weighted exercising device comprising:
a shoe configured for coupling to a foot of a user;
a plate coupled to a sole of said shoe through a bottom surface of said sole, said plate being rigid, said plate comprising metal, said plate having a shape substantially equivalent to a shape of said sole of said shoe wherein opposing sides of said plate are vertically aligned with outer edges of said sole;
a pair of couplers coupled singly to and extending from said opposing sides of said plate proximate to a back of said plate, said pair of couplers comprising:
a channel extending between said opposing sides of said plate,
a rod positioned through said channel such that threaded sections of said rod protrude from each said opposing side of said plate, said rod being coupled to said plate, and
a pair of collars, said collars being complementary to and reversibly couplable to said threaded sections;
a plurality of weights selectively couplable to said couplers, each said weight comprising:
a disk, said disk comprising metal,
a penetration axially positioned through said disk, and
wherein said penetration is positioned through said disk such that said penetration is positioned for insertion of a respective said threaded section of said rod, wherein said respective said threaded section is positioned for coupling to a respective said collar such that said weight is coupled to said plate;
a plurality of first connectors coupled to said plate, said plurality of first connectors comprising three said first connectors such that two said first connectors are positioned proximate to said back of said plate and one said first connector is positioned proximate to a front of said plate, each said first connectors comprising a hole through said plate and a nut;
a plurality of second connectors coupled to a sole of said shoe, said second connectors being complementary to said first connectors, wherein each said second connector is positioned on said shoe such that said second connector is positioned to couple to an associated said first connector to couple said shoe to said plate, said second connectors comprising threaded screws, said threaded screws being complementary to said nuts;
a strap coupled to and extending from said plate such that opposing ends of said strap are positionable proximate to a top of said shoe;
a fastener coupled to said strap, said fastener being couplable to said strap to form a loop around said shoe, wherein said fastener is positioned on said strap such that said fastener is positioned to couple to said strap to couple the foot of the user to said plate, said fastener comprising a buckle; and
wherein each said second connector is positioned on said shoe such that said second connector is positioned to couple to said associated said first connector to couple said shoe to said plate, wherein said shoe is configured to couple to the foot of the user, wherein said penetration is positioned through said disk such that said penetration is positioned for insertion of said respective said threaded section of said rod, wherein said respective said threaded section is positioned for coupling to said respective said collar such that said weight is coupled to said plate, wherein a selected degree of resistance is provided during exercise.
