Abstract

A securable grooming tool that can be secured to a user's body. The grooming tool can include any of various grooming tools such as tweezers, eyelash curlers, scissors, nail files, brushes, and the like. The tool further includes a body securement device that can be secured to a user's body, such as the user's hand, wrist, or fingers. The body securement device preferably includes a cuff that can be disposed around a user's finger. The body securement device is connected to the grooming tool via an elongated tether. In this way, if the user drops the grooming tool while using the same, the grooming tool is prevented from falling to the ground due to the connection of the grooming tool to the body securement device.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to beauty and grooming tools. More specifically, the present invention provides a securable grooming tool. The grooming tool comprises an elongated tether connecting the grooming tool to a body securement device, wherein the body securement device is adapted to be positioned on a body part of the user, such as the user's hand, fingers, or wrist in order to prevent the grooming tool from falling to the ground if dropped.
Various grooming tools are used in order to improve or adjust a person's appearance. Such devices include tweezers, eyelash curlers, makeup brushes, manicure scissors, nail files, and various other tools. Such tools are typically relatively small and can be difficult to firmly grasp while manipulating the same. As a result, the tools can be dropped onto the floor or ground where they may become dirty or unsanitary, requiring that the tool be cleaned before continuing to be used. This can be time consuming and inconvenient. Thus, a device for helping to prevent a grooming or beauty tool from falling to the ground if dropped is desired.
Devices have been disclosed in the prior art that relate to beauty and grooming tools. These include devices that have been patented and published in patent application publications. These devices generally relate to tweezers and related tools having securement devices for attaching the tweezers to the user's hand, such as U.S. Pat. No. 8,328,843, U.S. Pat. No. 3,293,958, U.S. Published Patent Application Number 2004/0193211, U.S. Pat. No. 4,442,837, and U.S. Published Patent Application Number 2007/0096484.
These prior art devices have several known drawbacks. The prior art devices help to secure a tool, such as tweezers, directly to the user's hand, which may limit the user's ability to control or operate the tool. The prior art discloses various securement methods for attaching the tool to the user's hand or fingers. However, the devices in the prior art fail to provide a grooming tool connected to a body securement device via an elongated tether.
In light of the devices disclosed in the prior art, it is submitted that the present invention substantially diverges in design elements from the prior art and consequently it is clear that there is a need in the art for an improvement to existing securable grooming tools. In this regard the instant invention substantially fulfills these needs.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of beauty and grooming tools now present in the prior art, the present invention provides a new grooming tool wherein the same can be utilized for providing convenience for the user when utilizing a grooming tool and preventing the same from being dropped.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved securable grooming tool comprising a grooming tool connected to a body securement device via an elongated tether that prevents the grooming tool from falling to the ground if dropped.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a securable grooming tool having an elongated tether comprising of a flexible cable or cord.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a securable grooming tool comprising a pair of tweezers.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a securable grooming tool wherein the body secure ent device is a cuff adapted to be secured to the user's finger, hand, or wrist.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a securable grooming tool that may be readily fabricated from materials that permit relative economy and are commensurate with durability.
Other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

Although the characteristic features of this invention will be particularly pointed out in the claims, the invention itself and manner in which it may be made and used may be better understood after a review of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like numeral annotations are provided throughout.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the securable grooming tool. For the purposes of presenting a brief and clear description of the present invention, the preferred embodiment will be discussed as used for securing a grooming tool to a user's body to prevent the grooming tool from falling to the ground if dropped. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.
Referring now to FIG. 1, there is shown a perspective view of the securable grooming tool. The securable grooming tool 11 comprises a grooming tool 12 adapted to be held in the hand of a user. In the illustrated embodiment, the grooming tool 12 comprises tweezers. However, in alternate embodiments, the grooming tool 12 can be any of other various small, hand-operated grooming or beauty tools, such as an eyelash curler, a makeup brush, manicure scissors, a nail file, and the like.
In the illustrated embodiment, the tweezers include a pair of arms 13 having a first end 14 and a second end 15, wherein the pair of arms 13 are pivotally secured to one another at the second end 15 thereof. The user can actuate the arms 13 so as to use the first end 14 of the arms 13 to grasp various items, such as a hair, among others. In a resting position, the arms 13 are separated from one another. In operation, the user can press the arms 13 towards one another in order to engage the first ends 14 of the arms 13 so as to grasp an object.
A body securement device 17 is connected to the grooming tool 12 by an elongated tether 16. The tether 16 preferably comprises a flexible, durable cord or cable. The tether 16 is of sufficient length to allow the user to freely utilize the grooming tool 12 and is of a length that prevents the grooming tool 12 from contacting the floor or ground if dropped. Preferably, the tether 16 is affixed to the handle or end portion of the grooming tool 12 so that the tether 16 does not interfere with the user's operation or use the grooming tool 12.
The body securement device 17 is adapted to be secured to the body of the user. Preferably, the body securement device 17 is adapted to be secured to the finger, hand, or wrist of a user. In this way, the body securement device 17 can be secured to the hand in which the user is holding the grooming tool 12 so that the elongated tether 16 does not interfere with the user's operation of the grooming tool 12.
In the illustrated embodiment, the body securement device 17 comprises a cuff. The cuff comprises a loop of material having an open upper end 18, an open lower end 19, and a hollow interior volume. The cuff can be sized so as to fit on a user's finger, or so as to fit around a user's wrist. In some embodiments, the cuff is composed of an elastic or stretchable material so that the cuff fits tightly onto a user's finger or wrist. Depending upon the embodiment, the cuff is integrally formed into a loop or alternatively the cuff comprises a strap that can be formed into a loop and removably secured in a loop configuration using adjustable fasteners thereon.
In an alternate embodiment, the body securement device 17 comprises a clip or clamp that can be removably secured to a users clothing, such as a users sleeve or shirt collar. The body securement device 17 can be attached to various portions of a user's body or clothing, such that the grooming tool 12 is prevented from falling to the ground due to the connection of the tether to the body securement device 17.
It is therefore submitted that the instant invention has been shown and described in what is considered to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art. With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.

Claims

I claim:

1) A securable grooming tool, comprising:

a grooming tool adapted to be held in a hand of a user;

a body securement device securable to a portion of a user's body;

an elongated tether connecting said grooming tool to said body securement device.

2) The securable grooming tool of claim 1, wherein said grooming tool comprises tweezers.

3) The securable grooming tool of claim 1, wherein said body securement device comprises a cuff securable to a user's finger.

4) The securable grooming tool of claim 1, wherein said body securement device comprises a cuff securable to a user's wrist.

5) The securable grooming tool of claim 1, wherein said body securement device comprises a cuff, wherein said cuff comprises a loop configuration.

6) The securable grooming tool of claim 1, wherein said elongated tether comprises a flexible material.

7) A securable grooming tool, comprising:

a grooming tool, wherein said grooming tool comprises tweezers having a pair of arms pivotally connected at an end thereof;

a body securement device comprising a cuff securable to a portion of a user's body;
