Abstract
The Plunger with inside Snake or Auger in Handle can be used to remove clogs from pipes by the plunger and then the user can apply the snake or auger inside of the plunger's handle (base handle) by the top handle into the drain or pipe to allow the snake or auger to agitating the clog (usually found in the P, U, J, S bent traps sections of the sink, toilet, shower, or the like) to remove the clog.
Description
- This invention provides for the much needed help in trying to unclog toilets, sinks, shower drains, pipes, and the like quickly and using multiple items to assist in the removal of the clog. As people use sinks, toilets, showers, drains and the like to expel their waste and water sometime a clog of the pipes occurs that require action to remove. Besides waster and waster water, other object are placed down the drains and pipes that become stuck and/or clog in the pipes, usually in the trap curved area, that has to be cleared. Once there is a clog the drain is normally reduced to slower pace or completely blocked by acting as a complete barrier to prevent any waste from escaping thus backing up the sink, toilet, shower or the like until it is cleared. Plumbing and cleaning out clogged drains and pipes is a very large industry today and effects everyone in their lifetime in some capacity.
- The inventor needed to unclog a drain and after trying to unsuccessful plunge it with a plunger, he went to the local home improvement store to purchase an auger. After turning home and using the auger to unclog the pipe, the inventor thought it would be better if the plunger and auger or snake were connected into one unit. This would make it easier for the user to unclog the drain or pipe by providing more options to the user at one time. After inventor created and developed a working model of the Plunger with inside Snake or Auger in Handle, he has successful used it many times.
- The summary of my invention is meant to provide a simple description in a very basic form that does not intend to detail essential features or assist in the determination of the scope of the claimed subject matter, nor is the summary of invention meant to identify the important attributes.
- My invention the Plunger with inside Snake or Auger in Handle described herein generally is a hand-operated plunger that has a snake or Auger inside of the handle than can be removed. The plunger has a long circular handler that is hallow inside so the snake or auger can be inserted into this cavity. The end of the snake or auger is attached to the end handle part of the plunger's hander that can be detached from the base handle.
- The specific details, features, attributes, advantages, and aspects of the Plunger with inside Snake or Auger in Handle described herein will be better understood with the inclusion of the following description of drawings, the claims, and drawings set forth herein this application:
-
FIG. 1 is a drawing of the device that illustrates the longitudinal side view of the device in which the auger is contained inside of the base handle of the plunger as the top handle is attached. -
FIG. 2 is a drawing of the device that illustrates the longitudinal side view the top handle separated from the base handle of the plunger so the anger can be taken out of the handle. -
FIG. 3 is a drawing of the device that illustrates the device from the side longitudinal view with the top handle attached to the base handle of the plunger so the drain snake is inside of the handle's cavity. -
FIG. 4 is a drawing of the device that illustrates from the side longitudinal view the top handle not attached to the base handle of the plunger so the drain snake is free. -
FIG. 5 is a drawing of the device that illustrates the top plain view of inside the plunger's handle, which is empty because the auger or drain snake that is attached to the top handle is removed. - In the description below of the Plunger with inside Snake or Auger in Handle embodiments reference is made to the following device drawings which are noticed herein by reference in which the device is able to used.
- The term “top handle” is used herein to refer to the tip of the plunger's handle that can be detached and removed from the remaining based handle section of the plunger and the top handle can be used as an handle for the snake or auger.
- The term “base handle” is used herein to refer the long remaining part of the handle that is attached to the plunger and has a cavity inside of it to contain the snake or auger.
- The term “unclogging tool” is used herein to refer to any plumbing tool, including an auger or snake or drain snake to unclog a drain or pipe.
- The term “auger” is used herein to refer to the long thin coil that has a slighting uncoiled twist opening at the end of it to help remove the clog from the pipe upon contact.
- The term “drain snake” or “snake” is used herein to refer to the a long thin object with pointed and/or ruff external features that are used to agitate the foreign object that is clogged inside of the pipe upon contact.
- The term “plunger” is used herein to refer to the general term of the commonly used object of unclogging toilets of a large circular suction object that creates pressure upon the foreign object that is clogged in the pipe when the plunger is pushed up and down in the water to force out the clog.
- In a general, this invention can allow the user to use either the plunger or the auger or drain snake inside the of the base handle all at once, thus reducing down time in obtaining the object and in unclogging the pipe. The Plunger with inside Snake or Auger in Handle can used when normally as a plunger on the sinks, toilets, showers or the like by applying the pressure to move the clog out of the pipe. However, this invention also allows for the user to have immediate access to an auger or snake to help remove the clog if the plunger is unsuccessful or if the auger or snake is not unsuccessful than the user can apply the plunger to remove the clog. Thus, the user has to detach the top handle from the base handle to remove the auger or drain snake from inside of the base handle's cavity to use it. Once removed, the user and grasp the top handle and use the auger or drain snake that is attached in the toilet, sink, shower or the like to assist in removing the clog by agitating it.
- A large majority of clogs occur in the water trap that has a sharp curve or bend to it to in which water is stored there to stop the sewer gases and smell from penetrating. However these curved traps of the water trap (normally shaped and called P, U, J, S bent traps) are hard to unclog sometimes and require a snake or auger if the plunger is not successful. Moreover, since the P, U, J, S bent traps are curved the auger and drain snake can be used because they are flexible and can move though the curve of the P, U, J, S bent traps to remove the clog, even if the plunger is not successful. These figures below are not to scale.
