Abstract
A device fabricated from material that is placed and secured around the body while in a seated position. The device fastens around the knees or legs and holds them securely while the knees are in a crooked position at an angle, drawn towards the chest. The device provides support and comfort to both back and knees. The device is secured around the body by means of a Velcro, buckle or other fastener. The girth of the device is adjustable to suit the passenger. The device has handles and rolls up when not in use and can be deployed as a pillow, head or foot rest.
Description
- The invention relates to a device that provides extra comfort to seated passengers travelling by air, road, rail or other transport.
- It is common for those seated in Economy class to experience restrictions on the space for each individual. There is often insufficient leg room which restricts comfortable placement of the legs and the resultant journey can be stressful and uncomfortable.
- Often, travellers, particularly if tall, are forced to sit at an angle in their seat and/or force their knees outwards which may intrude upon and inconvenience other passengers, or drive their knees into the back of the seat of the passenger in front. This can result in discomfort for the duration of the journey. Many passengers choose to raise their legs at times during the journey, resting them against arm rests, the seats in front, on walls and partitions, etc. This, again, can inconvenience other passengers and is not, in any case, comfortable.
- Primarily aimed at air travellers, this device wraps around the traveller's body. The traveller then pulls their knees up towards their chest and secures the device, which fastens around them. The girth of the device is adjustable to suit the passenger.
- The device holds the passenger securely and in comfort, allowing them to sit or sleep without intruding on other passengers' individual space. When not deployed in this manner, the device can also be rolled up and used as a pillow
- A further benefit of the device is that it acts like a blanket and provides warmth to the passenger.
-
FIG. 1 shows the device rolled up, able to be carried or used as a pillow. -
FIG. 2 shows the device when unrolled/extended prior to deployment. -
FIG. 3 shows the device fastener (various methods may be used as a fastener) and additional fastener. -
FIG. 4 shows the device when deployed as intended. - The device has widespread application. It can be used by anyone in a seated position during any form of travel or even at home. The device provides a cocoon of comfort for all. The device is an attractive proposition for any air traveller in Economy class and could provide a unique selling point, offer or product for airlines.
