Description
- The present invention relates to the field of fan guards, and more particularly to an integrally formed fan guard and its convenient manufacturing method that can reduce the cost of the fan guard effectively.
- In general, a fan such as a floor fan, a table fan, a fan lamp, etc has a vane installed in a fan guard, and the fan guard not just protects the vane only, but also facilitates the flow of air. Therefore, most present existing fan guards are bowl-shaped structure formed by welding steel wires or bars. Such fan guard features light weight and facilitates airflow, and thus has been used for many years so far. However, this fan guard also has the following drawbacks. Firstly, the structure of the fan guard requires a molding process of the steel wires or bars in advance, and then the molded steel wires or bars are welded and connected. Since the welding process has a certain requirement on the technical skill of a welder, therefore the pass rate of the product is directly related to the technical skill of the welder, and the production cost of this fan guard is always high. In addition, such fan guard usually has an axial flow structure, so that a through hole must be formed at the center of the fan guard for installing a motor and installing a motor shaft into the fan guard. At present, most fan guards made of steel wires or bars have insufficient strength to carry the motor after the center through hole is formed. Therefore, a reinforced metal plate is welded at the central through hole in order to carry, install and position the motor. The metal plate cannot be fixed to the fan guard by screws and usually are welded, and thus further increasing the production cost.
- In view of the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art, the inventor of the present invention conducted extensive research and development, and finally provided a technical solution of forming the fan guard by using a steel plate directly or stamping the steel plate to improve production efficiency and reducing production cost.
- Therefore, it is a primary objective of the present invention to provide an integrally formed fan guard and its manufacturing method with the features of simple structure and convenient manufacture, so as to reduce the production cost significantly.
- To achieve the aforementioned object, the present invention provides an integrally formed fan guard comprising a cover body which is integrally formed, and an air hole formed on the cover body and provided for flowing air.
- In the aforementioned fan guard, the cover body comprises a top side with a circular arc surface, a plurality of first air holes radially distributed on the top side, and a circumferential side disposed around an outer periphery of the top side; wherein the top side and the circumferential side are integrally formed by a stamping and extrusion method.
- In the aforementioned fan guard, a flange is formed at the junction of the top side and the circumferential side.
- In the aforementioned fan guard, a central through hole is formed at the center position of the top side, and a mounting part is fixed to the central through hole or integrally formed with the central through hole.
- In the aforementioned fan guard, the mounting part has an outwardly extended outer periphery, an inwardly extended inner periphery and a side coupled to the outer periphery and the inner periphery.
- In the aforementioned fan guard, the outer periphery is fixed to an edge of the central through hole of the top side, and the inner periphery and the side have a mounting hole formed thereon and provided for installation fixing.
- In the aforementioned fan guard, the first air hole formed on the top side is a tapered striped hole, and an end of the first air hole near the central through hole is narrower than the end of the first hole away from the central through hole.
- In the aforementioned fan guard, the circumferential side has a plurality of uniformly distributed second air holes, and the plurality of second air holes is formed by a plurality of striped holes or circular holes.
- To achieve the aforementioned objective, the present invention also provides a manufacturing method of an integrally formed fan guard, comprising the steps of: forming a top side of the fan guard and a circumferential side around the outer periphery of the top side by using a metal plate by a single or multiple stamping and extrusion method; and stamping the top side to form an air hole for flowing air, or stamping both of the top side and the circumferential side to form an air hole for flowing air and the center position of the top side to form a central through hole.
- The aforementioned manufacturing method of an integrally formed fan guard further comprises the steps of: forming a flange which serves as a reinforcing rib at the junction of the top side and the circumferential side by a roll press method; and installing a mounting part for installation and fixing at the position of the central through hole by a screwing, riveting, welding, or integral formation method, wherein the mounting part is provided for mounting the fan guard and a fan to another device or part.
- Compared with the prior art, the present invention has the following advantages and effects. In the manufacturing method, the fan guard is formed by stamping or extruding a steel plate directly by stamping and extrusion equipments. The invention does not require a high welding skill, and the fan guard so manufactured has the advantages of high efficiency, consistency, and pass rate, and thus reducing the production cost significantly. In the actual implementation of the present invention, the fan guard of the invention has a production cost approximately 30˜40% lower than that of the conventional fan guards.
