Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to false eyelash application, more particularly, the invention relates to methods and devices used in the application of eyelash extensions to eyelashes.
  • Description of Related Art
  • Makeup and beauty products have been used to enhance the appearance of a face. Different makeups may be applied to boost facial features like the cheeks, lips, and eyes. Particularly, some individuals wish to improve the look of their eyelashes.
  • Users may often use mascara to thicken, colors, curl, and add fullness and length to their lashes. However, sometimes the use of mascara does not provide enough enhancement to the lash area.
  • As an alternative to mascara, a user may use eyelash extensions or false eyelashes to accentuate eyelashes and make eyelashes appear to be fuller, greater curl, different color, length, etc. False eyelashes are applied to the eyelid and may be applied using an adhesive. Some eyelashes may be applied with an adhesive back-side tape and others may be applied to the eyelid eyelash by eyelash.
  • Sometimes, eyelash extensions are applied to a user by securing the user's eyelashes against the user's face and attaching multiple layers of eyelash extensions to the user's eyelashes. Eye pads may be used to affix the user's eyelashes flat against the user's face.
  • Eyelash extension application tends to be done by an eyelash extension technician, who is educated in applying eyelash extensions and false eyelashes on clients. With time and practice, eyelash extension technicians may become skilled enough to perfect many styles and designs. Some designs or systems include cat eye, dramatic, full effect, glamour, scalloped, wave effect, etc. These designs vary in complexity and many designs are time consuming and take a great deal of practice to master. Thus, eyelash extension technicians must find the time to fully educate themselves on proper lengths of lashes to fully grapple requested designs. Further new designs are developed and technicians need to dedicate time to learn the latest trends.
  • Because the process is tricky, many technicians have developed tricks to aid them through mapping clients' eyelashes. One popular aid is for technicians to map out the designs they wish to use on their clients. Mapping may occur by visualization where the eyelash extension technician plans out how a design may look as a finished product. When a technician determines a client's design, she may wish to map out the design in her head to ensure that each eye is symmetrical and the design comes out the best possible way. Even with years of experience, mapping a client's eyelashes can still present challenges for technicians.
  • Currently, lash mapping may also be accomplished if the eyelash extension technician maps the design on the eye map that is used to affix the client's lashes to her face. Using this technique helps technicians remember which lengths they want to apply and what location on the clients eye.
  • An eye pad is placed underneath the client's eye to affix the eyelashes to the user's face. Then, the eyelash extension technician may attach multiple layers to the user's eyelashes.
  • Sometimes, in order to ensure the proper design is accomplished, technicians will map the eyelash design on the eye pad. With a marker or pen, a technician may write on the eye pad to indicate the desired eyelash lengths they wish to apply. Although this technique is helpful to stay on track, eyelash technicians must have an understanding of the lash extensions they wish to apply. Also, pens may rip, tear, or puncture the eye pad.
  • SUMMARY OF INVENTION
  • The instant invention, as illustrated herein, is clearly not anticipated, rendered obvious, or even present in any of the prior art mechanisms, either alone or in any combination thereof. Therefore, it is an object of the instant invention to provide a method for applying eyelash extensions to eyelashes by implementing an eyelash extension design adhesive applicator. Thus, the several embodiments of the instant method are illustrated herein.
  • In several embodiments, the method comprises acts of fastening a user's eyelashes against the user's face with an eye pad, then applying an eyelash extension design adhesive applicator for a desired design, and attaching eyelash extensions to the user's eyelashes in conjunction with the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator. In one aspect of the present method, provides a new eyelash extension process that allows eyelash extension technicians to apply eyelash extensions with more precision. In another aspect, the method provides a new eyelash extension process that allows eyelash extension technicians to apply eyelash extensions to clients more efficiently. However, it is to be understood that the same or equivalent functions and sequences may be accomplished by different embodiments that are also intended to be encompassed within the spirit and scope of the invention.
  • Referring now to the figures to better illustrate the present system, in FIG. 1, there is one embodiment of an eyelash extension design adhesive applicator 10. Herein, in this embodiment, the adhesive applicator is shaped 12 to fit on top of an eyelash extension eye pad. One the bottom side of the adhesive applicator is a non-limiting type of adhesive which may include, glue, or other substance to ensure that the adhesive applicator may be securely placed on top of the eye pad.
  • In one embodiment, there may be design adhesive applicator for the left eye 20 and the right eye 22. As seen, the eyelash extension design applicator designates a specific eyelash extension design 16. In this embodiment, the “Cat Eye” system or design is illustrated.
  • In other embodiments, designs or systems may include “Dramatic,” “Full Effect,” “Glamour,” “Kardashian,” “Natural,” “Open Eye,” “Scalloped,” “Wave Effect,” etc. In other embodiments, the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator may not designate a specific design, allowing the eyelash extension technician to create a new design. Each eyelash extension design adhesive applicator has a series of numbers 14 imprinted on them, which indicates the appropriate length of eyelash extensions that need to be applied in order to achieve the desired design.
  • FIG. 2 illustrates yet another embodiment of the eyelash extension design adhesive applicators wherein they may be sold as a pack of applicators 18, allowing the technicians to have multiple designs adhesive applicators at their disposal. In other embodiments, the packs may be sold to include a plethora of different designs or just one single design.
  • Method for Applying Eyelash Extensions Utilizing the Eyelash Extension Design Adhesive Applicator
  • The present process includes a method for applying eyelash extensions. Individual eyelash extensions may be applied to a user's eyelashes using an adhesive like glue. Eyelash extensions may be applied to both the user's upper eyelashes and lower eyelashes. Based upon the length of the eyelashes extensions, different designs may be created.
  • The method for applying eyelash extensions include a series of steps to attach multiple eyelash extensions to the user's eyelashes. Before eyelash extensions are applied, it is a wise safety precaution for eyelash extension technicians to clean their client's eyelashes and allow them to air dry.
  • As shown in FIG. 3, when the extension process is ready to begin, the eyelash extension technician applies an eye pad 26 below the user's eyes. A common eye pad that is used is a gel eye pad to prevent swelling around the eye area. When the eyelash extension technician applies the eye pad, they tend to affix the client's lower eyelashes 24 to the client's face, under the eye pad.
  • As show in FIG. 4, after the eye pad 26 has been applied to the user's face, the eyelash extension technician then applies the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator 28. As noted above, the bottom side of the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator has some type of adhesive substance in order to securely place it on top of the eye pad. Before beginning the eyelash extension process, the eyelash extension technician may consult with the client to choose a desired design that the client wishes to see as the completed project. Also, the eyelash extension technician may choose the style that works best with the client's features. In the current embodiment illustrated in FIG. 4, the “Cat Eye” design was chosen, and the appropriate “Cat Eye” eyelash extension design adhesive applicator 28 was affixed on top of the eye pad 26.
  • As shown in FIG. 5, with the client's eye closes, and the eyelashes 24 in a downward position, the eyelash extension technician may utilize the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator 28 to attach the appropriate eyelash extensions. Herein, the particular numbering 30 labeled on the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator designates the specific length of eyelash extensions that needs to be applied to the client's eyelashes in order to achieve the desired design in this embodiment, the “Cat Eye” design.
  • After both the eye pads and the eyelash extension design adhesive applicators are applied, the eyelash extension technician may then start to apply to eyelash extensions to the client's eyelashes. This process may be accomplished based on how the eyelash extension technician learned to apply the eyelashes. Unlike before, when the technician was required to visualize the design of the eyelash extensions and remember the appropriate lengths of eyelash extensions that needed to be applied to achieve a desired design, the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator properly maps out the lengths for the technician. This saves the technician time, energy, and money. It is also convenient and prevents mistakes like asymmetrical eyelashes that the technician may accidently cause without the adhesive applicator guiding them.
  • As shown in FIG. 6, the method is outlined utilizing the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator. As discussed above, at step 32, an eyelash extension technician applies an eye pad to underneath the user's eyes and affixes the bottom layer of eyelashes against the user's face. This ensures that the bottom set of eyelashes do not interfere or cause the technician any distractions. At step 34, the user or eyelash extension technician selects a desired design they wish to use from the series of eyelash extension design adhesive applicators. Each applicator may portray a different design. At step 36, the eyelash extension technician applies the desired eyelash extension design adhesive applicator on top of the eye pad. In step 38, the user's eyes are closed so that the top layer of eyelashes lay flat against the eyelash extension adhesive applicator. Finally, at step 40 the eyelash extension technician applies the eyelash extension according to the designated eyelash lengths indicated on the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator. By following the mapping technique indicated on the eyelash extension design adhesive applicator, the eyelash extension technician is able to achieve the desired design in an efficient, convenient, and inexpensive way.
  • While several embodiments of the instant methods have been illustrated by way of example, it is apparent that further embodiments could be developed within the spirit and scope of the instant invention. However, it is to be expressly understood that such modifications and adaptations are within the spirit and scope of the instant invention, as set forth in the following claims.
