Keeping the child in a somewhat upright position is highly effective to prevent choking or other injuries even such as crib death. As a result, it would be advantageous to have a bed or system for placement of an infant that includes an inclining portion to support the infant on an incline as opposed to a flat mattress.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to an infant bed and chair that includes: a base; a back support attached to the base; and at least one vertical support attached to an underside of the back support, wherein the at least one vertical supports enable vertical elevation of the back support. The infant bed and chair may further include slit openings along an inner surface of the back support and along an inner surface of the base. • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 depicts a side and top view of an infant bed and chair in accordance with the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 depicts perspective views of the infant bed and chair in an elevated position.
  • FIG. 3 depicts a cushion used in conjunction with the infant bed and chair in accordance with the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The present invention relates to an infant chair and bed that includes a 30 degree elevation along a back support portion to support the infant in an elevated position while in the bed. The bed further includes slits for placement of belt straps to allow support of the infant within the bed or chair through the use of a belt system. • In reference to FIG. 1, an infant bed and chair 100 is depicted. The infant bed and chair 100 includes a back support portion 32 and a base 30. A top view of bed and chair 100 is further shown showing the back support 32 with back support surface 33. Further shown in base surface 31. Along with back support portion 32 a series of slits are provided. Belt strap slits 20 a, 20 b may be used to receive a belt to support the infant and/or a cushion within the bed/chair 100. Further belt strap slit 21 is provided in the base surface 31 of the bed 100. Further a side view is provided showing the back support portion 32 elevated with a support 40 on one side and a second support 42 on the opposite side of the back support portion 32. The supports 40, 42 support the back support portion 32 in an elevated position at approximately a 30-degree angle. The infant bed and chair 100 enables the infant to maintain an upright position when placed in the bed 100.
  • FIG. 2 depicts a prospective view of the bed/chair 100 showing the back support portion 32 in an elevated position. A top end 37 is shown at the top of the back support portion 32 with a foot end 35 at the base 30.
