Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to throwing trap technology and more particularly, to a safety ring support for throwing trap, which facilitates mounting and dismounting simply by hand without tools.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A throwing trap
main unit 60 of athrowing trap 6 generally comprises a drive shaft (not shown) having a connection rack, a throwing arm (not shown) fastened to the connection rack by fasteningmembers 61. When the drive shaft is rotated, the throwing arm will be driven to swing, causing the clay to be thrown out of a holding target plate by means of centrifugal force. Thus, the user can shoot the flying clay, proceeding with shooting training. For safety's sake, the throwing trapmain unit 60 is equipped with asafety ring support 8. For the mounting of thesafety ring support 8, the throwing trapmain unit 60 is configured to provide two pairs of screw holes 601 (seeFIG. 1 ) at two opposite lateral sides near the front end thereof, and twoconnectors 602 at the two opposite lateral sides near the opposing rear end thereof. The safety ring support comprises twosupport arms 9 and aflexible tube member 80. Eachsupport arm 9 has two mounting throughholes 911 located at afront end 91 thereof and a locatingring 92 located at an opposing rear end and defining therein aninsertion hole 921. Threadedshanks screws holes 911 of thesupport arms 9 and driven into therespective screw holes 601 at the throwing trapmain unit 60 using a screw driver (seeFIG. 2 ). The twoopposite ends 801 of theflexible tube member 80 are respectively inserted through theinsertion holes 921 of the locatingrings 92 of thesupport arms 9 and then respectively fastened to theconnectors 602 near the throwing trapmain unit 60, finishing the installation of the safety ring support 8 (seeFIG. 3 ) - However, the aforesaid prior art safety ring support has drawbacks as follows:
- 1. When wishing to dismount the two
support arms 9 for storage, packing or delivery, a hand tool must be used to dismount thescrews arms 9 from the throwing trapmain unit 60. This dismounting operation is complicated. If a hand tool is not available, the user cannot dismount the twosupport arms 9, and can simply dismount theflexible tube member 80 from thesupport arms 9 and the throwing trapmain unit 60, and then turn the throwing arm back into the inside of the throwing trapmain unit 60, at this time, thethrowing trap 6 still occupies a large space area, not convenient for storage or delivery. - 2. The two
support arms 9 are made of metal plate members using a stamping technique. In fabrication, thefront end 91 of eachsupport arm 9 is bent into shape and stamped to provide the desired mounting throughholes 911, and the opposing rear end of eachsupport arm 9 is stamped to form the desired locatingring 92 with aninsertion hole 921 defined therein. Thus, the fabrication cost of thesupport arms 9 is high. - 3. It needs to make two
screw holes 601 at each of the opposing left and right sides of the throwing trapmain unit 60, increasing the processing cost and installation labor and time. - The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a safety ring support for throwing trap, which facilitates mounting and dismounting without tools.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide a safety ring support for throwing trap, which allows the user to dismount the support arms by hand without tools whenever desired, facilitating storage of the safety ring support.
- It is still another object of the present invention to provide a safety ring support for throwing trap, which uses a rigid metal wire rod for making the support arms, saving machining cost.
- It is still another object of the present invention to provide a safety ring support for throwing trap, which helps reduce the number of screw holes on the throwing trap main unit of the throwing trap, saving the cost.
