Abstract
The invention is the method of angle entry and support for the electric submersible water well pump. My method allows installation and removal of the pump and pipe horizontally. The only component is a 4 inch configured sweep elbow with a belled end or coupling to slide over the water well casing.
Description
- This application claims the benefit of provisional patent application Ser. No. 62/074,666 filed Nov. 4, 2014.
- 1. Prior Art
- The “gamesaver” method of wellhead angle entry and support for submersible water well pumps is superior to the current practice of vertical entry. The old way affords no easy self removal and repair opportunity. For safety, a well service company is most likely necessary as the weight of the pump and water in the pipe is lifted vertically from the casing. This explains why people in the business have hernia damage in various instances, small operators lacking or bypassing the professional equipment, instead pulling by hand. The “gamesaver” elbow method slides the pipe and pump out, more or less, creating an inclined plane effect. The angle entry allows using various equipment; the pump can be pulled out using a golf cart, 4-wheeler, vehicles, or any available means.
- 2. Advantages
- One unaltered purchased elbow
- Eliminates costly, possibly unavailable service company or equipment
- Requires only slipping on the elbow when changing or installing a pump
- Eliminates bad, unsafe positioning over the well casing
- easier self-maintenance of submersible pump
- Angle entry allows horizontal removal
- The “gamesaver” method is an improvement to the traditional vertical casing wellhead common on water wells, providing angle entry and removal of submersible pumps through use of one purchased part.
-
FIG. 1 —Existing water well system-setup in common use in America -
FIG. 2 —A component of my invention . . . “gamesaver” method -
FIG. 3 —How to use the “gamesaver” wellhead . . . the plastic pipe, electrical and safety cables are slipped through the 4 in. dia. elbow . . . the pump is then attached in common practice with 2 hose clamps, the electrical connections made, and safety cable tied to pump . . . the pump is slipped into the 4 in. casing, elbow with coupling fitted to casing and the pump and pipe lowered to the end, the wellhead flange tightened as normal in the “gamesaver” as detailed - 1—single purchased elbow
- The elbow is slipped over the plastic pipe, pump and cable connections made, and the pump placed into the well casing, elbow flange sliding over casing, unglued.
- The reader will see that the “gamesaver” method utilizing the detailed component elbow contained in this application should not limit the available variations of devices possible to angle entry and support described within.
