Abstract
A sealed container comprises a base and a lid is provided. The lid has a top, a lid sidewall, a lid rim and a lid sealing edge extending outward from said lid rim. The base has a bottom, a base sidewall, a base rim and a base sealing edge extending outward from said base rim. The lid sealing edge and said base sealing edge are molded to mate with each other, and upon mating, the downward bending section attaches to the said downward extending section, and the said barb locks and holds up the base sealing edge forming two seals. The embodiments of the present invention improve the sealing structure of the base and the lid thus enhances the sealing effect of the attaching position and the convenience for opening.

- This application claims priority to Chinese Application No. CN 201510706627.3 having a filing date of Oct. 22, 2015, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference.
- This following relates to a field of containers, in particular to a sealed container with a detachable lid for containing foods and liquid.
- The existing containers are usually required to not only meet the demands of containing liquid or solids but also have a sealing function so as to facilitate transportation, carrying and meet the requirements of preservation.
- Chinese patent application No. CN102229371A, published on Nov. 2, 2011, discloses a food preservation container, comprising a base and a lid. The lid is made of plastic, with a convex border on the circumference toward the base; the opening edge of said base is provided with an outward flange mated to the lid border; the sidewall of the lid is also provided with plural integrated fastening claws which engages to the base flange to couple the lid and the base. The lid and the base are sealed by a sealing ring. The lid is also externally and moveably sleeved with a sectional fastening ring. The fastening ring is made of plastic capable of performing elastic deformation. The length of the sidewall of said fastening ring is adapted to the lengths of the outside surface of the lid and fastening claws in connection. The inner surface close to the lower end of the sidewall is provided with plural transverse projecting claws; when the lid and the base are in fastening connection, the claw transverse projecting claws are hooked and pressed against the lower end face of the flange of the base, while the sidewall of the fastening ring forces the fastening claws of the lid to be fastened and hooked with the turned edge of the base. Through the fastening ring movably sleeved with the lid, stable connection between the lid and the base is formed, and then the lid seals the base in secure. The above food preservation box can seal effectively, but it's complicated to assemble and requires the use of a sealing ring.
- An aspect relates to a container which has a good sealing effect and is convenient to open and close.
- To fulfill the aspect, embodiments of the present invention employ the following technical solution: A sealed container comprising a base and a lid, wherein the lid has:
- a top,
a lid sidewall extending downward from the said top,
a lid rim extending substantially horizontally outward from said lid sidewall,
a lid sealing edge extending outward from said lid rim, wherein said sealing edge comprising an upward bending section in connection with the lid rim, a downward bending section provided with a barb, and a transition section connecting the upward bending section and the downward bending section.
The base has:
a bottom,
a base sidewall extending upward from said base bottom,
a base rim extending substantially horizontally outward from said base sidewall,
a base sealing edge extending outward from said base rim, wherein the base sealing edge comprising an upward extending section in connection with the base rim, a downward extending section and a connecting section connecting the upward extending section and the downward extending section. - Wherein said lid sealing edge and said base sealing edge are molded to mate with each other, and upon mating, the said downward bending section attaching to the said downward extending section, and the said barb locking and holding up the base sealing edge.
- The transition section or the connecting section is provided with a first sealing flange, which is pressing against the transition section and the connecting section in between to form a first seal.
- The lid rim or the base rim is provided with a second sealing flange, which is pressing against the lid rim and the base rim in between to form a second seal.
- Preferably, the base sealing edge is provided with a corner between the barb and the first sealing flange; and when the lid and the base are joined together, a space is formed at the corner between the lid and the base, forming a sealed air pocket.
- Preferably, between the first sealing flange and the second sealing flange are provided with two corners; when the lid and the base are joined together, at least one space is formed at those two corners, and the corner with the space forms the sealed air pocket.
- Furthermore, the first sealing flange is disposed at the bottom surface of the transition section of the lid sealing edge. The second sealing flange is disposed at the bottom surface of the lid rim.
- As a further optimization, the lid top is provided with an annular slot; the base bottom is provided with an annular ledge; the annular slot and the annular ledge have coinciding projections and are shaped to match with each other; and when the base is placed on the cover top, the annular ledge is embedded into said annular slot.
- Specifically, the base sidewall extends upward in a widening way, forming two step surfaces.
- Preferably, the lid sidewall extends downward from the lid top substantially vertically or at an outward angle such that a plurality of lids can be vertically stacked.
- Preferably, the base sidewall extends upward from the base bottom substantially vertically or at an outward angle such that a plurality of bases can be vertically stacked.
- As a typical implementation mode, the base and the lid are approximate cuboids or cubes.
- Or, the base and the lid are approximately cylinders.
- The base and the lid are made of plastic or rubber materials.
- Compared with the known art, embodiments of the present invention have the following beneficial effects: embodiments of the present invention improve the sealing structure of the base and the lid. Except for utilizing a barb for locking, sealing edges with good sealing property are formed on the edge of the lid and base; besides, the design of barb facilitates opening of the lid; in addition, the air pockets are disposed between the first seal and the barb, as well as between the first and second seals, so as to open the cover box conveniently. Thus, embodiments of the present invention have two advantages of high sealability and opening convenience.
- The present invention is described in further detail with reference to the attached drawings and embodiments.

FIG. 1 andFIG. 2 are overall structural views of embodiments of the present invention. The container may be a rectangular container as shown inFIG. 1 or a round container as shown inFIG. 2 . The container comprises alid 100 and abase 200. Thelid 100 and thebase 200 are molded to mate with each other, forming a sealed containing chamber. - Specifically, the
lid 100 has alid top 110; the center of the top is a substantially flat plane; the central plane is provided with anannular slot 130. Alid sidewall 120 extends downwards from the outer circumference of thelid top 110, and alid rim 103 horizontally extends outward from thelid sidewall 120. Thelid rim 103 extends outward to form a lid sealing edge, and the lid sealing edge includes an upwardbending section 1001, atransition section 1002 and a downwardbending section 1003. Wherein, the upwardbending section 1001 is shaped as an upward bending ring in connection with thelid rim 103; thelid sidewall 120, thelid rim 103 and the upwardbending section 1001 of the lid sealing edge together form a structure with a V-shaped cross section. Thetransition section 1002 is a substantially flat ring, and the downwardbending section 1003 is a ring bending downward. The two ends of thetransition section 1002 in arc shape are respectively connected to theupward bending section 1001 and the downwardbending section 1003; and, theupward bending section 1001, thetransition section 1002 and the downwardbending section 1003 of the lid sealing edge together form a structure with a reverse U-shaped cross section. - Wherein, the opposite side surfaces of the
upward bending section 1001 and the downwardbending section 1003 are the inner side surface of theupward bending section 1001 and the inner side surface of the downwardbending section 1003; the surface of thetransition section 1002 in connection with the inner side surface of the downwardbending section 1003 is the lower surface of thetransition section 1002, and the surface of thelid rim 103 in connection with the inner side surface of theupward bending section 1001 is the lower surface of thelid rim 103. - At the inner side surface of the
downward bending section 1003 is provided with abarb 1004 protruding from the lid sealing edge. The lower surface of thetransition section 1002 is provided with afirst sealing flange 1005, and thefirst sealing flange 1005 and thetransition section 1002 are concentric circles. The lower surface of thelid rim 103 is provided with asecond sealing flange 1006, and thesecond sealing flange 1006 and thelid rim 103 are concentric circles. - The
base 200 has abase bottom 210; the center of the base bottom is a substantially flat plane; the central plane is provided with anannular ledge 230; and theannular ledge 230 as the supporting leg of the base supports the base on a desk. Abase sidewall 220 extends upward from the circumference of the base bottom, and thebase sidewall 220 horizontally extends outward to form abase rim 203. Thebase rim 203 extends outward to form a base sealing edge, and the base sealing edge comprises an upward extendingsection 2001, a connectingsection 2002 and a downward extendingsection 2003. Wherein, the upward extendingsection 2001 is shaped as an upward bending ring in connection with thebase rim 203; thebase sidewall 220, thebase rim 203 and the upward extendingsection 2001 of the base sealing edge together form a structure with a V-shaped cross section. The connectingsection 2002 is a substantially flat ring, and the downward extendingsection 2003 is a ring bending downward. The two ends of the connectingsection 2002 in arc shape are respectively connected to the upward extendingsection 2001 and the downward extendingsection 2003. The upward extendingsection 2001, the connectingsection 2002 and the downward extendingsection 2003 of the base sealing edge together form a structure with a reverse U-shaped cross section. - As shown in
FIG. 4 , the lid sealing edge and the base sealing edge are molded to mate with each other. Upon mating, thedownward bending section 1003 of the lid sealing edge fits and attach to the downward extendingsection 2003 of the base sealing edge, and thebarb 1004 of the base sealing edge locks and holds up the base sealing edge such that the base sealing edge attaches to the lid sealing edge tightly. Thefirst sealing flange 1005 presses against the connectingsection 2002 of the base sealing edge to form the first seal. Thesecond sealing flange 1006 presses against thebase rim 203 to form the second seal. - Moreover, the base sealing edge is provided with a corner between the
barb 1004 and thefirst sealing flange 1005. When the lid and the base are joined together, a space is formed at the corner between the lid and the base forming a first sealed air pocket 301. Between thefirst sealing flange 1005 and thesecond sealing flange 1006 are provided with two corners; when the lid and the base are joined together, two gaps are formed at the two corners, forming a second air pocket 303 and a third air pocket 305. - Traditional sealing containers are sealed through wide rubber sealing rings which is effective in preventing granular solids from leaking or the entrance of air. However, they are not effective in isolation of liquid and usually, cannot prevent vegetable juices and soups from leaking. The prevent invention employs a sealing flange with a smaller width, and a barb is used to enable the lid and the base to clamp with each other in order to achieve a large pressure intensity during the jacking compression, thus the sealing effect is desirable, and liquid can be prevented from leaking. Moreover, the present invention employs two sealing flanges to form the first seal and the second seal, constructing two barrier lines, which can well isolate the contents in the sealing containers of the embodiments of the present invention from the outside. Furthermore, the
annular slot 130 of thelid top 110 and theannular ledge 230 of thebase bottom 210 have coinciding projections and are shaped to match with each other. When thebase 200 is placed on the top of thelid 100, theannular ledge 230 is embedded into theannular slot 130. In this way, thelid 100 can be stably placed below thebase 200 when opened, thus reducing space. - As shown in
FIG. 3 , it can be seen that, thelid sidewall 120 extends downward from thelid top 110 vertically or at an outward angle such that a plurality oflids 100 can be vertically stacked. Thebase sidewall 220 extends upward from thebase bottom 210 vertically or at an outward angle such that a plurality ofbox bodies 200 can be vertically stacked. When thelid 100 and the base 200 are assembled as shown inFIG. 3 , a plurality oflids 100 can be stacked layer by layer on thelid 100, while a plurality ofbox bodies 200 can be stacked below thebase 200, thus reducing space for storage when being sold or stored in families. - The
base sidewall 220 of thebase 200 extends upward in an increasingly widening way from thebase bottom 210, and form two step surfaces. Thus, the base is not easy to deform by outer force. - The
base 200 and thelid 100 are made of plastic or rubber materials, so that thebase 200 and thelid 100 have certain plasticity. - The present invention is not limited in the above embodiment. All modifications and changes of the present invention made on the basis of the spirit or scope of the present invention shall fall within the protective scope of the claims of the present invention.
Claims (10)
1. A sealed container comprising:
a base and a lid, wherein the lid has
a top,
a lid sidewall extending downward from the said top,
a lid rim extending substantially horizontally outward from said lid sidewall,
a lid sealing edge extending outward from said lid rim, wherein said sealing edge comprising an upward bending section in connection with the lid rim, a downward bending section provided with a barb, and a transition section connecting the upward bending section and the downward bending section;
and the base has
a bottom,
a base sidewall extending upward from said bottom,
a base rim extending substantially horizontally outward from said base sidewall,
a base sealing edge extending outward from said base rim, wherein the base sealing edge comprising an upward extending section in connection with the base rim, a downward extending section and a connecting section connecting the upward extending section and the downward extending section;
wherein said lid sealing edge and said base sealing edge are molded to mate with each other, and upon mating, the said downward bending section attaching to the said downward extending section, and the said barb locking and holding up the base sealing edge;
wherein the transition section or the connecting section is provided with a first sealing flange, which is pressing against the transition section and the connecting section in between to form a first sealing line;
wherein the lid rim or the base rim is provided with a second sealing flange, which is pressing against the lid rim and the base rim in between to form a second sealing line;
wherein between the barb and the first sealing flange on the base sealing edge is provided with a corner, and when the lid and the base are joined together, a space is formed at the corner between the lid and the base, forming a sealed air pocket;
wherein the lid top is provided with an annular slot, and the base bottom is provided with an annular ledge, the annular slot and the annular ledge having coinciding projections and shaped to match with each other, and when the base is placed on the cover top, the annular ledge is embedded into the annular slot.

3. The sealed container of claim 1 , wherein between the first sealing flange and the second sealing flange, two corners are provided; when the lid and the base are joined together, at least one space is formed at those two corners, and the corner with the space forms the sealed air pocket.
4. The sealed container of claim 1 , wherein the first sealing flange is disposed at a bottom surface of the transition section of the lid sealing edge.
5. The sealed container of claim 1 , wherein the second sealing flange is disposed at a bottom surface of the lid rim.

7. The sealed container of claim 1 , wherein the base sidewall extends upward in a widening way, forming two step surfaces.
8. The sealed container of claim 1 , wherein the base and the lid are approximate cuboids or cubes.
9. The sealed container of claim 1 , wherein the base and the lid are approximately cylinders.
10. The sealed container of claim 1 , wherein, the base and the lid are made of plastic or rubber material.
