Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a waterproof case, and more particularly to a waterproof case assembled on a carrier.
  • Description of the Prior Art
  • With the developments of technology, unmanned machines (carriers) can be controlled to perform various actions by remote control devices. The unmanned machines may be toy cars, toy ships, or toy airplanes for entertainment. Also, the unmanned machines may be utilized for going to those locations difficult to arrive or handling those affairs difficult to achieve for human beings, e.g., the unmanned carriers may be applied for topography detection, sample collecting, remote monitoring, etc. In practice, depended on the topography, the carrier may be an unmanned car, an unmanned ship, or an unmanned aircraft. Moreover, a waterproof structure may be important for the carrier because the carrier has to carry precision electronic devices, and because the carrier may be get wet in the rain or may leave for a humid area.
  • The present invention is, therefore, arisen to obviate or at least mitigate the above mentioned disadvantages.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • One object of the present invention is to provide a waterproof case which is implemented by forming a base on a carrier. A cover is assembled on the base, and a pressing member is provided to press the cover on the base, so that the gap between the cover and the base can be reduced to achieve a waterproof function.
  • To achieve the above and other objects, a waterproof case is provided and comprises a base, a cover, and a pressing member. The base is assembled on a carrier. The base has a positioning groove recessed around the periphery thereof. The cover is assembled on the base. A receiving space is defined between the cover and the base. The cover has a sealing portion protruded therefrom and the shape of the sealing portion is corresponding to the shape of the positioning groove. The sealing portion of the cover is engaged in the positioning groove. The pressing member is assembled on the cover. The pressing member generates a force to press the cover on the base by a pressing means, so that the gap between the sealing portion and the positioning groove is reduced.
  • Wherein, the periphery of the cover is extended to form a flange assembled on the base, and the pressing member presses on the flange.
  • In one embodiment, the pressing means is locking the pressing member and the cover on the base with a plurality of bolts to force the cover to press the base.
  • The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment(s) in accordance with the present invention.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of a waterproof case according to the present invention;
  • FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the waterproof case according to the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a cover of the waterproof case according to the present invention; and
  • FIG. 4 is a sectional view of the waterproof case according to the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, illustrating an exemplary embodiment of a waterproof case according to the present invention. The waterproof case comprises a base 1, a cover 3, and a pressing member 4. The base 1 is to be assembled on a carrier 2. The carrier 2 is a movable vehicle which can be remote controlled to perform various actions and can be utilized for going to those locations difficult to arrive or handling those affairs difficult to achieve for human beings, e.g., the carrier 2 may be a remote control car, a remote control ship, or a remote control airplane. In this embodiment, the carrier 2 is a remote control ship for illustrative purposes. The base 1 is integrally formed with the carrier 2. The base 1 has a surrounding wall 11 extended from the periphery thereof and encompasses a rectangular area. The top surface of the surrounding wall 11 has a positioning groove 12 recessed therefrom and defined around the surrounding wall 11. In addition, two first ear portions 13 are respectively extended from two opposite sides of the surrounding wall 11, and each of the first ear portions 13 has a threading hole 14.
  • The cover 3 is assembled on the base 1. A receiving space 15 is defined between the cover 3 and the base 1. In this embodiment, the cover 3 is made of rubbers or thermoplastic plastics, and the cover 3 is capable of being deformed when suffering a pressure. As shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, the cover 3 has a top portion 31. An enclosing wall 32, of rectangular shape, is extended downward from the periphery of the top portion 31. A flange 33 is extended from the bottom of the enclosing wall 32 and expanded horizontally, i.e., the width of the flange 33 is greater than the width of the enclosing wall 32. A sealing portion 34 is protruded from the bottom surface of the flange 33, and the shape and the size of the sealing portion 34 correspond to the shape and the size of the positioning groove 12. The flange 33 of the cover 3 is assembled on the base 1, and the sealing portion 34 of the cover 3 is engaged in the positioning groove 12, so that the cover 3 and the base 1 define the receiving space 15 for accommodating a precision electronic device 5.
  • In addition, two second ear portions 35 are respectively extended from two opposite sides of the cover 3. Each of the second ear portions 35 has a through hole 36 defined therethrough. The position of the second ear portions 35 corresponds to the position of the first ear portions 13, and the position of the through holes 36 corresponds to the position of the threading holes 14.
  • The receiving space 15 is a sealed and waterproof space when the pressing member 4 is applied to the cover 4 and the base 1 with a pressing means. In detail, as shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 4, the pressing member 4 is of enclosed shape and can be fitted over the enclosing wall 32 of the cover 3 to press on the flange 33. Two third ear portions 41 are respectively extended from two opposite sides of the pressing member 4. Each of the third ear portions 41 has a through hole 42 defined therethrough. The position of the third ear portions 41 corresponds to that of the first ear portions 13 and the second ear portions 35, and the position of the through holes 41 also corresponds to that of the threading holes 14 and the through holes 36.
  • The pressing means is provided to press the pressing member 4 and generates a force to press the cover 3 on the base 1, so that the gap between the sealing portion 34 and the positioning groove 12 can be reduced. In this embodiment, the pressing means is achieved by applying bolts 43 to lock the cover 3 with the base 1. Specifically, two bolts 43 are respectively passing through the through holes 42 of the pressing member 4, the through holes 36 of the cover 3, and threaded into the threading holes 14 of the base 1. Therefore, the threading between the bolts 43 and the threading holes 14 allows the bolts 43 to press the third ear portions 41 of the pressing member 4, which would further allow the cover 3 to be pressed on the base 1. Due to the force provided from the pressing means, the sealing portion 34 is firmly engaged in the positioning groove 12. Moreover, because the cover 3 is made of a material which is capable of being deformed when suffering a pressure, the sealing portion 34 would deform and further securely engaged in the positioning groove 12. Hence, the gap between the base 1 and the cover 3 can be reduced. Therefore, moist can be prevented from entering the receiving space 15, and the precise electronic device 5 in the receiving space 15 can be prevented from getting wet.
  • Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
