Abstract

The travel case contains a case body and a number of wheels configured on a bottom side of the case body. The case body contains a front member, a back member; a telescoping handle and a first static handle on the top side, and a second static handle on a second lateral side opposite to the first lateral side of the case body. The front and back members are hinged along the first lateral side jointly forming a storage space for traveling items. Both the front and back members have slant top corners, therefore achieving six circumferential sides. Both a front side of the front member and a back side of the back member are configured with indentations and protrusions of various shapes. Due to the six circumferential sides from the slant corners, and the indentations and protrusions, the travel case has superior durability and robustness.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • (a) Technical Field of the Invention
  • The present invention is generally related to travel cases, and more particular to an enhanced structure of travel cases.
  • (b) Description of the Prior Art
  • As traveling becomes a popular habit, the demand for travel cases continuously increases. A conventional travel case contains a case body with a number of wheels. There is also a telescoping handle so that the travel case can be pushed or pulled over the ground. A major issue for all travel cases is the durability as the travel cases have to sustain various kinds of impact and wear. Most travel cases would suffer dents and scratched finish.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • A major objective of the present invention is to provide a novel structure of travel cases with enhanced durability and robustness.
  • The travel case contains a case body and a number of wheels configured on a bottom side of the case body.
  • Each of the front and back members has a number of first buffering elements on the second lateral side, and a number of second buffering elements on the first lateral side, all for buffering external impact to the travel case.
  • The first and second buffering elements are made of a material capable of sustaining impact.
  • The foregoing objectives and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.
  • Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective diagram showing a travel case according to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 is a front-view diagram showing the travel case of FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 3 is another perspective diagram showing the travel case of FIG. 1 from a different angle
  • FIG. 4 is a back-view diagram showing the travel case of FIG. 1.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • The following descriptions are exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
  • FIGS. 1 and 2 are perspective and profile diagrams showing a travel case according to an embodiment of the present invention. As illustrated, the travel case contains a case body 1 and a number of wheels 2 configured on a bottom side of the case body 1. The case body 1 contains a front member 11 and a back member 12. The front and back members 11 and 12 are hinged along a first lateral side so that they can be opened and closed. On a top side of the case body 1, a telescoping handle 13 and a first static handle 14 are provided. On a second lateral side of the case body 1 opposite to where the front and back members 11 and 12 are hinged, a second static handle 15 is provided. The front and back members 11 and 12 jointly form a space for storing clothes and other traveling items. The travel case can be carried using the static handles 14 and 15, or pulled/pushed on the wheels 2 using the telescoping handle 13.
  • Both the front and back members 11 and 12 have slant top corners 111 of an appropriate angle. Each of the front and back members 11 and 12 therefore has six circumferential sides. Each of the front and back members 11 and 12 has a number of curved first buffering elements 16 on the second lateral side, and a number of block-shaped second buffering elements 17 on the first lateral side. When the travel case is carried by the second static handle 15 and is placed on a surface, the travel case rests on the surface through the second buffering elements 17. The first and second buffering elements 16 and 17 are made of a material capable of sustaining impact.
  • A front side of the front member 11 is configured with a number of indentations 18 and protrusions 19 of various shapes. For example, in the present embodiment, there are rectangular and square indentations 18, and rectangular indentation 18 with continuous prism shapes inside, all arranged at intervals. There are also triangular protrusions 19 arranged into a pattern. The protrusions 19 can also have other shapes.
  • FIG. 3 is another perspective diagram showing the travel case and FIG. 4 is a back-view diagram of the travel case. As illustrated, the front and back members 11 and 12 have slant top corners 111, therefore achieving six circumferential sides. Each of the front and back members 11 and 12 has curved first buffering elements 16 on the second lateral side, and block-shaped second buffering elements 17 on the first lateral side. When the travel case is carried by the second static handle 15 and is placed on a surface, the travel case rests on the surface through the second buffering elements 17.
  • A back side of the back member 12 is configured with a number of indentations 18 and protrusions 19 of various shapes. For example, in the present embodiment, there are rectangular indentation 18 with curved sections in the middle, and rectangular indentations 18 with curved corners arranged in parallel. There are also rectangular protrusions 19 with curved corners arranged in parallel, and rectangular protrusions 19 vertically arranged in parallel. The protrusions 19 can also have other shapes.
  • The travel case as described above, due to the six circumferential sides from configuring slant corners 111, and the indentations 18 and protrusions 19 on the front and back members 11 and 12, has superior durability and robustness. The first and second buffering elements 16 and 17 on the other hand provide cushion to external impact, thereby increasing the usability of the travel case.
  • While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the claims of the present invention.
