Abstract

A shoe cover is provided that has a main cover body constructed and arranged for placement over a shoe wherein the body has a plurality of openings constructed and arranged to permit ambient air to pass through.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Many different types of shoe covers exist. Typically, they are for protection for rain, snow, and other adverse elements. However, one difficulty arises in that shoe covers typically completely enclose the shoe and cause excessive sweating. There is a need for a shoe cover providing a particular level of protection while still allowing for the foot to breathe.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In one embodiment, the present invention is a shoe cover, said shoe cover comprising: a main cover body constructed and arranged for placement over a shoe, wherein said main cover body has a plurality of openings constructed and arranged to permit ambient air to pass through.
  • In one embodiment, the plurality of openings are circular.
  • each having a diameter between 0.1 and 3.0 mm. In one embodiment, the openings can be congruous throughout the entire cover. In another embodiment, the openings are of varying size.
  • In one embodiment, the cover further comprises a functional inner layer having at least one material including an antibacterial, an antifungal, deodorant, or combinations thereof.
  • The present invention also contemplates a method for delivering antibacterial, an antifungal, deodorant to a person, said method comprising the steps of:
      • providing a cover as described herein:
      • disposing at least one of antibacterial, an antifungal, deodorant, or combinations thereof on said functional layer;
      • placing said cover over a shoe;
      • placing a user's fit in said shoe.
    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a side perspective view demonstrating one embodiment of the present invention in an environment of use.
  • FIG. 2 is a side perspective view of one embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective bottom view of one embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 4 is a side perspective bottom view of one embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 5 is a side view of one embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 6 is a side perspective view demonstrative of partial positioning of the article according to one embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 7 is a cross section of one embodiment of the invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • The present invention relates generally to a shoe cover. Cover body 1 has a plurality of holes 2 constructed and arranged to allow for ambient air to pass through. Cover 1 is positioned over shoe 3 and secured into position, in one embodiment, with securing hook 4. Although a single securing hook is demonstrated in the figures, one or more securing hooks are contemplated as being used in the present invention. As best seen in FIGS. 6 and 1, shoe 3 is positioned such that cover main body 1 is placed over the exterior of shoe 3. FIG. 1 is demonstrative of the shoe nested within cover 1. In one embodiment, sole pattern 5 is incorporated into the bottom surface of shoe cover 1.
  • The present invention provides for a unique shoe cover that provides protection of shoe 3 while still configured to allow a wearer's foot to breathe and does not promote excessive sweating. In one embodiment, hook 4 is adjustable such that the tension imparted by hook 4 onto each of shoe cover 1 and shoe 3 is configurable by a user.
  • In one embodiment, as seen in FIG. 7, cover 10 has outer surface 12, inner layer 11, and hook 13. Inner layer 11 has incorporated therewith at least one material, including an antibacterial, an antifungal, deodorant, or combinations thereof. In the embodiment where an internal material is used, it is further contemplated that the shoe cover of the present invention is used in various methods to control any one or more of bacteria, fungus, odor, or combinations thereof.
  • In one embodiment, each hole 2 is between about 0.1-3 mm.
  • While the invention has been described in its preferred form or embodiment with some degree of particularity, it is understood that this description has been given only by way of example and that numerous changes in the details of construction, fabrication and use, including the combination and arrangement of parts, may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
