Description
- The disclosure relates to cover devices and more particularly pertains to a new cover device for preventing a chair from becoming soiled by food or liquids.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a chair that has a seat and a backrest. A cover is positionable on the seat such that the cover protects the seat from becoming stained.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a removable cover system according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new cover device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 4 , theremovable cover system 10 generally comprises achair 12 that has aseat 14 and abackrest 16. Theseat 14 has atopmost surface 18, abottommost surface 20 and aperimeter edge 22 extending between thetopmost surface 18 and thebottommost surface 20. Theperimeter edge 22 has aforward side 24 and arearward side 26 and thebackrest 16 has a pair ofsupports 28 that are each coupled to and extending upwardly from thetopmost surface 18. Each of thesupports 28 is spaced from each other and each of thesupports 28 is positioned adjacent to therearward side 26. Thechair 12 may be spindle back chair or the like. - A
cover 30 is positionable on theseat 14 wherein thecover 30 protects theseat 14 from becoming stained and thecover 30 has aseat portion 32 and asecuring portion 34. Theseat portion 32 has anupper surface 36, alower surface 38 and aperipheral edge 40 extending between theupper surface 36 and thelower surface 38. Theperipheral edge 40 has afront side 42, aback side 44, a firstlateral side 46 and a secondlateral side 48. Thesecuring portion 34 extends downwardly from thefront side 42, the firstlateral side 46 and the secondlateral side 48. Thecover 30 is comprised of a deformable and fluid impermeable material. - The
securing portion 34 has adistal edge 50 with respect to theseat portion 32 and thesecuring portion 34 extends away from theback side 44 along each of the firstlateral side 46 and the secondlateral side 48 to define a pair ofstraps 52. Each of thestraps 52 has an inwardly facingsurface 54 and an outwardly facingsurface 56. Theback side 44 of theseat portion 32 has a pair ofslots 58 extending toward thefront side 42 and each of slots are 58 spaced apart from each other to define aflap 60. - The
cover 30 is positionable on theseat 14 having thelower surface 38 of theseat 14 portion abutting thetopmost surface 18 of theseat 14. Thesecuring portion 34 surrounds theperimeter edge 22 of theseat 14 and each of thesupports 28 is positioned within an associated one of theslots 58. Theflap 60 covers the portion of theseat 14 that is positioned beneath thebackrest 16. Each of thestraps 52 is extended along therearward side 26 of theseat 14 and each of thestraps 52 is matable such that thecover 30 is retained on theseat 14. - A pair of
fasteners 62 is provided and each of thefasteners 62 is attached to an associated one of thestraps 52. One of thefasteners 62 is positioned on the inwardly facingsurface 54 of the associatedstrap 52 and one of thefasteners 62 is positioned on the outwardly facingsurface 56 of the associatedstrap 52. Each of thefasteners 62 is complementary and each of thefasteners 62 may comprise a hook and loop fastener. - An
elastic member 64 is attached to thecover 30 and theelastic member 64 is coextensive with thefront side 42 of thecover 30. Theelastic member 64 is attached to thedistal edge 50 of thesecuring portion 34. Theelastic member 64 engages thebottommost surface 20 of theseat 14 when thecover 30 is positioned on theseat 14 thereby retaining thecover 30 on theseat 14. - In use, the
cover 30 is positioned on theseat 14. Theelastic member 64 is slipped beneath theperimeter edge 22 of theseat 14 and each of thestraps 52 are coupled together. Thecover 30 prevents theseat 14 from becoming soiled by food or drinks. Thecover 30 is removed from theseat 14 for cleaning purposes. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
