Description

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE Field of the Disclosure
  • The disclosure relates to cover devices and more particularly pertains to a new cover device for preventing a chair from becoming soiled by food or liquids.
  • SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a chair that has a seat and a backrest. A cover is positionable on the seat such that the cover protects the seat from becoming stained.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a removable cover system according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new cover device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the removable cover system 10 generally comprises a chair 12 that has a seat 14 and a backrest 16. The seat 14 has a topmost surface 18, a bottommost surface 20 and a perimeter edge 22 extending between the topmost surface 18 and the bottommost surface 20. The perimeter edge 22 has a forward side 24 and a rearward side 26 and the backrest 16 has a pair of supports 28 that are each coupled to and extending upwardly from the topmost surface 18. Each of the supports 28 is spaced from each other and each of the supports 28 is positioned adjacent to the rearward side 26. The chair 12 may be spindle back chair or the like.
  • A cover 30 is positionable on the seat 14 wherein the cover 30 protects the seat 14 from becoming stained and the cover 30 has a seat portion 32 and a securing portion 34. The seat portion 32 has an upper surface 36, a lower surface 38 and a peripheral edge 40 extending between the upper surface 36 and the lower surface 38. The peripheral edge 40 has a front side 42, a back side 44, a first lateral side 46 and a second lateral side 48. The securing portion 34 extends downwardly from the front side 42, the first lateral side 46 and the second lateral side 48. The cover 30 is comprised of a deformable and fluid impermeable material.
  • The securing portion 34 has a distal edge 50 with respect to the seat portion 32 and the securing portion 34 extends away from the back side 44 along each of the first lateral side 46 and the second lateral side 48 to define a pair of straps 52. Each of the straps 52 has an inwardly facing surface 54 and an outwardly facing surface 56. The back side 44 of the seat portion 32 has a pair of slots 58 extending toward the front side 42 and each of slots are 58 spaced apart from each other to define a flap 60.
  • The cover 30 is positionable on the seat 14 having the lower surface 38 of the seat 14 portion abutting the topmost surface 18 of the seat 14. The securing portion 34 surrounds the perimeter edge 22 of the seat 14 and each of the supports 28 is positioned within an associated one of the slots 58. The flap 60 covers the portion of the seat 14 that is positioned beneath the backrest 16. Each of the straps 52 is extended along the rearward side 26 of the seat 14 and each of the straps 52 is matable such that the cover 30 is retained on the seat 14.
  • A pair of fasteners 62 is provided and each of the fasteners 62 is attached to an associated one of the straps 52. One of the fasteners 62 is positioned on the inwardly facing surface 54 of the associated strap 52 and one of the fasteners 62 is positioned on the outwardly facing surface 56 of the associated strap 52. Each of the fasteners 62 is complementary and each of the fasteners 62 may comprise a hook and loop fastener.
  • An elastic member 64 is attached to the cover 30 and the elastic member 64 is coextensive with the front side 42 of the cover 30. The elastic member 64 is attached to the distal edge 50 of the securing portion 34. The elastic member 64 engages the bottommost surface 20 of the seat 14 when the cover 30 is positioned on the seat 14 thereby retaining the cover 30 on the seat 14.
  • In use, the cover 30 is positioned on the seat 14. The elastic member 64 is slipped beneath the perimeter edge 22 of the seat 14 and each of the straps 52 are coupled together. The cover 30 prevents the seat 14 from becoming soiled by food or drinks. The cover 30 is removed from the seat 14 for cleaning purposes.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
