Abstract
A children's toy assembly includes a ball that has an outer wall. The outer wall is continuous such that the ball has a spherical shape and the outer wall has an outer surface and an inner surface. A pair of rings is provided and each of the rings is attached to the ball. Each of the rings may abut a support surface thereby facilitating the ball to be rolled in a generally straight line on the support surface. A stimulation unit is attached to the ball to stimulate a child.
Description
- The disclosure relates to children's toy devices and more particularly pertains to a new children's toy device for stimulating a child with vocal phrases and flashing lights.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a ball that has an outer wall. The outer wall is continuous such that the ball has a spherical shape and the outer wall has an outer surface and an inner surface. A pair of rings is provided and each of the rings is attached to the ball. Each of the rings may abut a support surface thereby facilitating the ball to be rolled in a generally straight line on the support surface. A stimulation unit is attached to the ball to stimulate a child.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 6 is a schematic view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new children's toy device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 6 , the children'stoy assembly 10 generally comprises aball 12 that has anouter wall 14. Theouter wall 14 is continuous such that theball 12 has a spherical shape and theouter wall 14 has anouter surface 16 and aninner surface 18. A pair ofrings 20 is provided and each of therings 20 is attached to theball 12. Each of therings 20 is positioned on theouter surface 16 and each of therings 20 is spaced apart from acenter 22 of theball 12. Each of therings 20 is oriented to define a pair ofspherical caps 24 of theball 12 thereby facilitating each of therings 20 to abut asupport surface 26. Thus, theball 12 may be rolled in a generally straight line on thesupport surface 26. Thesupport surface 26 may be a floor or the like. - A
stimulation unit 28 is attached to theball 12 and thestimulation unit 28 comprises acontrol circuit 30 that is attached to theinner surface 18 of theouter wall 14. Thecontrol circuit 30 includes anelectronic memory 32 and theelectronic memory 32 stores a plurality of vocal phrases. Thecontrol circuit 30 may be an electronic processor or the like and theelectronic memory 32 may comprise ROM memory or the like. - A pair of
speakers 34 is provided and each of thespeakers 34 is attached to theinner surface 18 and each of thespeakers 34 extends through theouter surface 16. Each of thespeakers 34 is positioned on an associated one of thespherical caps 24 and each of thespeakers 34 is positioned adjacent to an associated one of therings 20. Each of thespeakers 34 is electrically coupled to thecontrol circuit 30 and each of thespeakers 34 emits randomly selected ones of the vocal phrases. The vocal phrases may comprise motivational vocal phrases or encouraging vocal phrases related to child development. - A pair of
light emitters 36 is provided and each of thelight emitters 36 is attached to theouter surface 16 of theouter wall 14. Each of thelight emitters 36 is positioned between therings 20 and each of thelight emitters 36 is spaced apart from each other. Thelight emitters 36 are structured to resemble eyes and each of thelight emitters 36 is electrically coupled to thecontrol circuit 30. Each of thelight emitters 36 emits light corresponding to the vocal phrases emitted by thespeakers 34. Thelight emitters 36 may each comprise an LED or the like. - A
switch 38 is coupled to theouter surface 16 and theswitch 38 is positioned on one of thespherical caps 24. Theswitch 38 is spaced from an associated one of thespeakers 34 and theswitch 38 is positioned adjacent to an associated one of therings 20. Theswitch 38 is electrically coupled to thecontrol circuit 30 to selectively actuate and de-actuate thecontrol circuit 30. - A
power supply 40 is coupled to theinner surface 18 and thepower supply 40 is electrically coupled to theswitch 38. Thepower supply 40 comprises at least onebattery 42 and abattery cover 44 is removably coupled to theouter wall 14. Thebattery cover 44 is aligned with thepower supply 40 such that thepower supply 40 may be accessed. - A
band 46 is coupled to theouter wall 14 and theband 46 is positioned on theouter surface 16. Theband 46 is positioned between therings 20 and theband 46 is spaced from the pair oflight emitters 36. Theband 46 is oriented in a curve to resemble a smile. In an alternative embodiment as shown inFIG. 5 , theband 46 may be formed into a closed loop to resemble an open mouth. A pair ofeyebrows 48 are coupled to theouter surface 16 and each of theeyebrows 48 is positioned proximate an associated one of thelight emitters 36. - In use, the
switch 38 is engaged to actuate thecontrol circuit 30. Theball 12 is rolled along thesupport surface 26 while thespeakers 34 emit the vocal phrases. Additionally, each of thelight emitters 36 emits light corresponding to the vocal phrases emitted by thespeakers 34. The vocal phrases serve to educate and stimulate the child and thelight emitters 36 serve to capture a child's attention. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
Claims (10)
1. A children's toy assembly comprising:
a ball having an outer wall, said outer wall being continuous such that said ball has a spherical shape, said outer wall having an outer surface and an inner surface;
a pair of rings, each of said rings being fixedly attached to said outer wall of said ball, said rings being positioned in parallel planes, each of said rings having a circumference less than a circumference of said ball wherein each of said rings is configured to separately abut a support surface thereby facilitating said ball to be rolled in a generally straight line on the support surface; and
a stimulation unit attached to said ball, said stimulation unit being configured to stimulate a child.
2. The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein each of said rings being positioned on said outer surface, each of said rings being spaced apart from a center of said ball, each of said rings being oriented to define a pair of spherical caps of said ball.
3. The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said stimulation unit comprises a control circuit attached to said inner surface of said outer wall, said control circuit including an electronic memory, said electronic memory being configured to store a plurality of vocal phrases.
4. The assembly according to claim 2 , further comprising a pair of speakers, each of said speakers being attached to said inner surface, each of said speakers being positioned on an associated one of said spherical caps, each of said speakers being positioned adjacent to an associated one of said rings, each of said speakers being electrically coupled to said control circuit, each of said speakers emitting randomly selected ones of said vocal phrases.
5. The assembly according to claim 4 , further comprising a pair of light emitters, each of said light emitters being attached to said outer surface of said outer wall, each of said light emitters being positioned between said rings, each of said light emitters being spaced apart from each other, each of said light emitters being structured to resemble eyes, each of said light emitters being electrically coupled to said control circuit, each of said light emitters emitting light corresponding to said vocal phrases emitted by said speakers.

The assembly according to claim 5 , further comprising a switch coupled to said outer surface, said switch being positioned on one of said spherical caps, said switch being spaced from an associated one of said speakers, said switch being positioned adjacent to an associated one of said rings, said switch being electrically coupled to said control circuit wherein said switch selectively actuates and de-actuates said control circuit.
7. The assembly according to claim 6 , further comprising a power supply coupled to said inner surface, said power supply being electrically coupled to said switch, said power supply comprising at least one battery.
8. The assembly according to claim 7 , further comprising a battery cover removably coupled to said outer wall, said battery cover being aligned with said power supply such that said power supply may be accessed.
9. The assembly according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a pair of light emitters; and
a band coupled to said outer wall, said band being positioned on said outer surface, said band being positioned between said rings, said band being spaced from said pair of light emitters, said band being oriented in a curve wherein said band is configured to resemble a smile.
10. A children's toy assembly comprising:
a ball having an outer wall, said outer wall being continuous such that said ball has a spherical shape, said outer wall having an outer surface and an inner surface;
a pair of rings, each of said rings being statically positioned relative to said outer wall of said ball, each of said rings being positioned on said outer surface, each of said rings being spaced apart from a center of said ball, each of said rings being oriented to define a pair of spherical caps of said ball, said rings being positioned in parallel planes, each of said rings having a circumference less than a circumference of said ball wherein each of said rings is configured to separately abut the support surface thereby facilitating said ball to be rolled in a generally straight line on the support surface;
a stimulation unit attached to said ball, said stimulation unit comprising
a control circuit attached to said inner surface of said outer wall, said control circuit including an electronic memory, said electronic memory being configured to store a plurality of vocal phrases,
a pair of speakers, each of said speakers being attached to said inner surface, each of said speakers being positioned on an associated one of said spherical caps, each of said speakers being positioned adjacent to an associated one of said rings, each of said speakers being electrically coupled to said control circuit, each of said speakers emitting randomly selected ones of said vocal phrases,
a pair of light emitters, each of said light emitters being attached to said outer surface of said outer wall, each of said light emitters being positioned between said rings, each of said light emitters being spaced apart from each other, each of said light emitters being structured to resemble eyes, each of said light emitters being electrically coupled to said control circuit, each of said light emitters emitting light corresponding to said vocal phrases emitted by said speakers,
a switch coupled to said outer surface, said switch being positioned on one of said spherical caps, said switch being spaced from an associated one of said speakers, said switch being positioned adjacent to an associated one of said rings, said switch being electrically coupled to said control circuit wherein said switch selectively actuates and de-actuates said control circuit,
a power supply coupled to said inner surface, said power supply being electrically coupled to said switch, said power supply comprising at least one battery, and
a battery cover removably coupled to said outer wall, said battery cover being aligned with said power supply such that said power supply may be accessed, and
a band coupled to said outer wall, said band being positioned on said outer surface, said band being positioned between said rings, said band being spaced from said pair of light emitters, said band being oriented in a curve wherein said band is configured to resemble a smile.
