Abstract

A plurality of clips to secure a decorative item to a curtain rod is provided. The clips may be flexible and bendable to easily secure to the decorative item and the curtain rod. The clip includes a first hook and a second hook. The first hook is formed from a first bend forming a loop and comprising an opening leading into the loop. The second hook is formed of a second bend in the opposite direction as the first bend. The second bend forms a loop and includes an opening leading into the loop.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to decorating curtain rods and, more particularly, to curtain rod hooks for design attachment.
  • A curtain is a piece of cloth intended to block or obscure light, or drafts. A curtain rod is a device used to suspend curtains, usually above windows, though also wherever curtains might be used. Currently, curtain rods include plain rods that tend to be aesthetically unpleasing.
  • As can be seen, there is a need for a device that secures a design to a curtain rod.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In one aspect of the present invention, a method of securing a design to a curtain rod comprises: providing a plurality of clips each comprising a first hook and a second hook; providing a decorative item; securing the first hook of each of the plurality of clips to a curtain rod; and securing the second hook of each of the plurality of clips to the decorative item, thereby attaching the decorative item to the curtain rod.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, a clip for securing a design to a curtain rod comprises: a first bend forming a loop and comprising an opening leading into the loop; a second bend in the opposite direction as the first bend forming a loop, wherein the second bend comprises an opening leading into the loop, wherein the first bend and the second bend are planar, wherein the first bend comprises a diameter greater than the second bend.
  • These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the present invention shown in use;
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a side view of an embodiment of the present invention; and
  • FIG. 4 is a section view of the present invention along line 4-4 of FIG. 1.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
  • The present invention includes clips that are used to attach designs to the center of a curtain rod. The design may be attached permanently are temporarily to the curtain rod. The present invention adds dimension to the room it is displayed within. In certain embodiments, the clips may be bendable and made of rubber. The clips affix the design elements to any existing curtain rod. The design element may be made of wood, metal, such as iron and the like. The design element is affixed with multiple adjustable clips. This enables the design element to be affixed to any sized curtain rod.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 through 4, the present invention includes a plurality of clips 10 to secure a decorative item 20 to a curtain rod 22. The clips 10 may be flexible and bendable to easily secure to the decorative item 20 and the curtain rod 22. Each clip 10 includes a first hook 12 and a second hook 14. The first hook 12 is formed from a first bend forming a loop and comprising an opening leading into the loop. The second hook 14 is formed of a second bend in the opposite direction as the first bend. The second bend forms a loop and includes an opening leading into the loop. In certain embodiments, the first hook 12 and the second hook 14 are planar and the first hook 12 includes a diameter greater than the second hook 12. The clip may include a solid core 18 with a compressible rubber outer coating 16.
  • A method of using the present invention may include the following. A plurality of clips 10 described above is provided. The first hook 12 of each of the plurality of clips 10 is secured to the curtain rod 22. The second hook 14 of each of the plurality of clips 10 is secured the decorative item 20. Therefore, the decorative item 20 is attached to the curtain rod 22. Many design elements, either existing (iron scroll, wood scroll, picture etc.) or created and manufactured may be affixed with an adjustable clip 10 to the middle of any sized curtain rod 10.
  • It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
