Description

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE Field of the Disclosure
  • The disclosure relates to mounting devices and more particularly pertains to a new mounting device for mounting a cellular phone on an extremity of a person.
  • SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising an elongated base and a plurality of straps extending between opposed lateral sides of the base such that the straps are configured for securing the base to an extremity of a human. A socket is positioned on an upper face of the base. A case is configured for coupling to a cellular phone. A connector coupled to the base defines a lip insertable into the socket such that the connector is removably engaged to the base.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a partially exploded top front side perspective view of a cellular phone body mounting device according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a partially exploded side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a top view of a base of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a bottom view of a case of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 5 is a partially exploded detailed view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 6 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure in use.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new mounting device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the cellular phone body mounting device 10 generally comprises a base 12 having a first end 14 opposite a second end 16. The base 12 is elongated between the first end 14 and the second end 16. Lateral sides 18 of the base 12 extend between the first end 14 and the second end 16. The first end 14 has a medial portion 20 and angled outer portions 22 such that the first end 14 tapers extending from each of the lateral sides 18 towards the medial portion 20 of the first end 14. The second end 16 has a middle section 24 and a pair of angled outer sections 26 such that the second end 16 tapers extending from each of the lateral sides 18 towards the middle section 24 of the second end 16. The base 12 is flexible wherein the base 12 is configured to conform to a shape of a human extremity such as an arm or the like.
  • Each of a plurality of straps 30 extends between the lateral sides 18 of the base 12 such that the straps 30 are configured for securing the base 12 to the human extremity. Each of the straps 30 has a respective break 32 therein wherein each strap 30 comprises a respective first section 34 and a respective second section 36. Each of a plurality of couplers 38 is coupled to an associated one of the straps 30 wherein the first section 34 of the associated strap 30 is engageable to the second section 36 of the associated strap 30 forming a loop 40 with the base 12. Each coupler 38 is a ring 42 coupled to the first section 34 of the associated strap 30 and hook and loop fastener 44 coupled to the second section 36 of the associated strap 30 allowing the second section 38 to be inserted through the ring 42 and secured to form the loop 40.
  • A socket 46 is coupled to the base 12. The socket 46 is positioned on an upper face 48 of the base 12. The socket 46 has a back panel 50, a front panel 52, and an outer wall 54 extending between the back panel 50 and the front panel 52. The front panel 52 is spaced from the back panel 50. The front panel 52 has an arcuate edge 68. A case 56 is configured for coupling to a cellular phone 58 in a conventional manner. The case 56 has a planar back face 60. A connector 62 is coupled to the case 56. The connector 62 defines a lip 64 insertable into the socket 46 such that the connector 62 is removably engaged to the base 12. The lip 64 is insertable between the front panel 52 and the back panel 50. The lip 64 is positioned in spaced parallel relationship to the planar back face 60 of the case 56. The lip 64 is circular extending outwardly around a post section 66 of the connector 62. The arcuate edge 68 abuts the post section 66 of the connector 62 when the lip 64 is engaged to the socket 46.
  • A brace 70 is elongated. The brace 70 extends between the first end 14 and the second end 16 of the base 12. The brace 70 extends between the medial portion 20 of the first end 14 and the middle section 24 of the second end 16. The socket 46 is statically positioned on the brace 70. The brace 70 may be constructed of metal, alloy or the like.
  • In use, the base 12 is attached to the human extremity in a desired position using the straps 30. The case 56 is coupled to the cellular phone 58 and the connector 62 is inserted into the socket 46 when desired to allow access to the cellular phone 58 while coupled to the human extremity.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
