Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a toilet and, more particularly, to a combination heightened toilet seat assembly.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- A conventional toilet primarily comprises a bowl, a seat connected with the bowl, a cover mounted on the seat, and a tank connected with the bowl. However, the bowl has a lower height so that when the user is seated on the seat, the user's knee has a larger bending angle, thereby causing a burden to the user's knee. Thus, the conventional toilet is not available for the old people, the pregnant women, the handicapped people, the patient and the like. A conventional heightened toilet seat assembly disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,251,388 comprises a fixed base mounted on a toilet bowl and a toilet seat connected with the fixed base. The fixed base has two opposite outer sides each formed with a recess. The toilet seat is made of hard plastic material and has a substantially U-shaped profile. The toilet seat has two opposite ends each formed with a block inserted into the respective recess of the fixed base to combine the toilet seat with the fixed base. When the user wishes to detach the toilet seat from the fixed base, the two opposite ends of the toilet seat are forcibly pulled outward to detach the block of the toilet seat from the respective recess of the fixed base so as to remove the toilet seat from the fixed base. However, the toilet seat is made of hard plastic material so that the user has to apply a larger force on the toilet seat to pull the two opposite ends of the toilet seat so as to detach the block of the toilet seat from the respective recess of the fixed base, thereby causing inconvenience to the user, and wasting the user's energy.
- In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a combination heightened toilet seat assembly comprising a fixed base and a heightened seat connected with the fixed base. The fixed base is mounted on a top portion of a toilet bowl. The fixed base defines a bottom face and a top face opposite to the bottom face. The fixed base has a side provided with a mounting face which has two fitting grooves spaced from each other. Each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base extends from the top face to the bottom face of the fixed base. The heightened seat has a substantially U-shaped profile and defines a bottom face and a top face opposite to the bottom face. The heightened seat has two distal end faces arranged in a symmetrical manner. Each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat has a fitting protrusion. The fitting protrusion of each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat extends from the bottom face to the top face of the heightened seat. In assembly, the heightened seat is movable downward relative to the fixed base, with the fitting protrusion of each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat being slidable into each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base to combine the heightened seat with the fixed base. On the contrary, the heightened seat is movable upward relative to the fixed base, with the fitting protrusion of each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat being movable and detachable from each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base to detach the heightened seat from the fixed base.
- According to the primary advantage of the present invention, the heightened seat has a predetermined height to increase the height of the toilet bowl, so that when the user is seated on the heightened seat, the bending angle of the user's knee is decreased so as to reduce the burden of the user's knee.
- According to another advantage of the present invention, the fitting protrusion of each of the distal end faces of the heightened seat can slide into each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base to combine the heightened seat and the fixed base, and can be removed from each of the fitting grooves of the mounting face of the fixed base to detach the heightened seat from the fixed base, so that the heightened seat is combined with and detached from the fixed base easily and quickly, thereby saving the user's energy and time.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
