Abstract
This invention relates to foot ware with a pocketed area for receiving an orthotic arch support. The pocket is either formed within a two piece insole so that the pocket is formed within the lower portion of the insole and the upper portion of the insole has an opening for insertion of an orthotic arch support. Alternatively the pocket is formed into a separate compartment layer which is positioned above the outsole and below the inner with an opening for insertion of an orthotic arch support extending through the insole.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to the field of design and construction of foot ware. More particularly, the present invention relates to the field of foot ware designs which includes at least one pocket for placement of orthotic inserts.
- 2. Description of the Prior Art
- Many types of foot ware are known in the prior art. However, while foot ware has been developed for unique stylized designs and for comfort including shoes for special purposes such as foot ware designed to correct foot problems having integrated orthotic arch supports and foot ware designed to receive interchangeable orthotic inserts that can be attached to the foot bed, foot ware has not been designed with a pocketed area below the insole for receiving an orthotic arch support.
- It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide foot ware with a pocketed area for receiving an orthotic arch support.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide foot ware with a pocketed area for receiving an orthotic arch support were as the orthotic arch support can be inserted or removed as needed.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide foot ware with a pocketed area for receiving an orthotic arch support which do not detract from the aesthetic features of the foot ware.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide foot ware with a pocketed area for receiving an orthotic arch support wherein the arch support may be formed to the shape required by a person desiring to wear the foot ware.
- It is a further object of the present invention to provide foot ware with a pocketed area for receiving an orthotic arch support which is simple and economical to manufacture.
- It is another object of the present invention to provide foot ware with a pocketed area for receiving an orthotic arch support which said orthotic arch support is economical to manufacture and may be shaped to a particular arch if so desired.
- Other advantages of the present invention will become apparent when viewed in light of the detailed description of the preferred embodiment when taken in conjunction with the attached drawings and appended claims.
- For a more complete understanding of this invention, reference should now be made to the embodiments illustrated in greater detail in the accompanying drawings and described below by way of examples of the invention.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention slipper in the wearing condition where the pocketed area for orthotic arch support insert is concealed within the shoe and obscured from view; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the present invention asFIG. 1 and an orthotic arch support insert; -
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the present invention asFIG. 1 with pocket opening in the upper sole with an orthotic arch support insert inserted into the pocket; -
FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of the pocketed area of the present invention slipper exposing the pocketed area for orthotic arch support insert; - Although specific embodiments of the present invention will now be described with reference to the drawings, it should be understood that such embodiments are by way of example only and merely illustrative of but a small number of the many possible specific embodiments which can represent applications of the principles of the present invention. Various changes and modifications obvious to one skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains are deemed to be within the spirit, scope and contemplation of the present invention as further defined in the appended claims.
- Referring to
FIGS. 1 through 4 , there is shown at 10 the embodiment of this present invention specifically designed as a slipper.FIG. 1 illustrates thepresent invention slipper 10 comprising of anoutsole 12. Affixed to the outsole is theinsole 13 of theslipper 10. A unique feature of thepresent invention slipper 10 is theentrance 20 of the concealed and obstructed from view pocketedarea 21 for orthotic arch support inserts. -
FIG. 2 embodiment includes thepresent invention slipper 10 shown next to an orthotic arch support insert 30.FIG. 3 illustrates thepresent invention slipper 10 shown with orthotic arch support insert 30 inserted into the concealed and obstructed from view pocketedarea 21. -
FIG. 4 illustrates in a cross-sectional view of the present invention slipper 10 the normally concealed and obstructed from view pocketedarea 21 withentrance 20 for insertion of the orthotic arch support insert. - The present invention may, of course, be carried out in other specific ways than those herein set forth without departing from the spirit and essential characteristics of the invention. The present embodiments are, therefore, to be considered in all respects as illustrative and not restrictive and all changes coming within the meaning and equivalency range of the appended claims are intended to be embraced therein.
Claims (4)
1. Foot ware comprising of an outsole and insole with pocketed area for inserting and removal of an orthotic arch support insert.
2. The foot ware of claim 1 , wherein said pocketed area has an entrance in the insole for inserting and removal of an orthotic arch support insert.
3. The foot ware of claim 1 , wherein said insole is made of a stretchy material which allows for ease of insertion and removal of orthotic arch support insert.
4. The insole of claim 3 , wherein said stretchy material helps retain proper positioning of orthotic arch support insert.
