Abstract

The invention relates to an easy to use drinking vessel and container arrangement in which the drinking vessel is easily detachable from the container allowing contents of the container to be easily dispensed into the drinking vessel and be consumed by a user. The invention a container and drinking vessel where the container can be in the shape of a bottle and is provided with a drinking vessel resting on top of and secured to the container. The drinking vessel is provided with handle used to grip, grasp or otherwise manipulate the drinking vessel and is further constructed to separate from the container and is capable of receiving a product from the container.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to an easy to use drinking vessel and container arrangement in which the drinking vessel is easily detachable from the container allowing contents of the container to be easily dispensed and/or consumed by a user.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Often times when people are using container or bottles to drink or pour from, they find it difficult to remove the container or bottle top while attempting to assess a separate cup to pour the container or bottle contents into. The present invention seeks to provide to an easy to use drinking vessel and container arrangement in which a drinking vessel is provided with the container and further where the drinking vessel is easily detachable from the container allowing contents of the to be easily dispensed and/or consumed by a user.
The invention is particularly advantageous for the elderly in that they may use the handle of the drinking vessel as leverage to assist in opening the container. Additionally, the easy to me drinking vessel and container arrangement allows young mothers with small children the ability to dispense drinks at anytime with ease while out in a car or when in the public, e.g. while they are out shopping.
The invention has particular uses in medicine as it may be used to contain pharmaceutical products, usually liquids, sealed within the container or bottle, and with the volume measurement calibration feature included the drinking vessel provides for easy to use accurate dosage when dispensing the product. Similarly, a pharmacist using the invention would have the option of using the volume measurement calibrated drinking vessel when mixing pharmaceutical compounds. The volume measurement feature could be particularly useful for patients receiving X-ray treatment which often time requires the mixture of different dyes; additionally the calibrated drinking vessel can be very useful for assisting patients requiring diabetic sugar tests.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

For a more detailed description of the present invention, e is made to the Figures.
FIG. 1 is a side view of a detachable drinking vessel container arrangement in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the invention. The invention shown in FIG. 1 includes a container and drinking vessel arrangement 1 where the container 2 is in the shape of a bottle having a circular cross-sectional shape and a height dimension which is substantially greater than its cross-sectional dimension. Further, the container and drinking vessel arrangement 1 is provided with thinking vessel 3 resting on top of and secured to container 2. Drinking vessel 3 is provided with handle 4 used to grip, grasp or otherwise manipulate the drinking vessel 3. Drinking vessel 3 is further provided with a top portion 5 and a bottom portion 6. Container 2 and drinking vessel 3 are composed and constructed of the same material, either plastic, paper, or similar substances and are also constructed to contain a product, usually a liquid; the product, however, could be a solid such as a powder or pellet material such as pills, capsules or similar substances. And as will be further disclosed, drinking vessel 3 is further constructed to separate from container 2 and is also intended and capable of receiving a product from container 2.
Now referring to FIG. 1 a, a top view of the container and drinking vessel arrangement 1 of FIG. 1 is shown and as can be seem from FIG. 1 a, container and drinking vessel arrangement 1 has a circular cross sectional shape.
Now referring to FIG. 1 b, a cross-sectional view of the interior of the detachable drinking vessel and container arrangement 1 of FIG. 1 is shown. Particularly in FIG. 1 b, the configuration of the interior of container 2 and the drinking vessel 3 is shown revealing that container 2 is provided on its top portion with a lip 7, provided with screw threads, for the filing and or dispensing of a product. Drinking vessel 3, as seen in FIG. 1 b is provided with a ridge 8 integral with and raised up from the bottom portion of drinking vessel 3. Ridge 8, as is seen in and discussed further in FIG. 3, is of circular cross-section, is also screw threaded with the same pitch and sized to fit and secure with lip 7 on top of container 2.
FIG. 2 is a side view of the detachable drinking vessel and container arrangement of FIG. 1 having been partially separated. As can be seen from FIG. 2, drinking vessel 3 is constructed to separate from container 2 by being unscrewed by rotating drinking vessel 3 relative to container 1 and then being lifted from container 2 by griping or grasping handle 4 and/or the exterior of drinking vessel 3.
Now referring to FIG. 2 a, a top view of the detachable and drinking vessel and container arrangement of FIG. 2 having been partially separated is shown. As is seen from FIG. 2 a, the vertical alignment of drinking vessel 3 and container 1 is maintained during their separation.
Now referring to FIG. 2 b, a cross-sectional view of the detachable drinking vessel and container arrangement of FIG. 2 having been partially separated is shown. As is seen from FIG. 2 b, drinking vessel 3 has been unscrewed from container 1 and has been lifted vertically by a user gripping or grasping handle 4. Additionally, FIG. 2 b reveals the interior portion 10 of lip 7, which portion is constructed to receive or dispense a product from container 2. Also shown in FIG. 2 b are volume measuring indicia 9, on the inside of drinking vessel 3, provided to aid a user in pouring or dispensing a product from container 2. And although the indicia 9 are shown on the inside of the drinking vessel, the invention further contemplates having the indicia on the outside of the drinking vessel.
FIG. 3 is a side view of the drinking vessel 3 having been fully separated from the drinking vessel and container arrangement 1 of FIGS. 1 and 2. As seen in FIG. 3, drinking vessel 3 is held vertically by a user with handle 4 allowing for top portion 5 to receive a product from container 2.
Now referring to FIG. 3 a, a top view of the drinking vessel 3 having been completely separated from the drinking vessel and container arrangement 1 is shown. FIG. 3 a reveals the screw threaded circular ridge 8 located integral with and raised from the inside bottom of drinking vessel 3. Also seen in FIG. 3 a, the various volume measurement indicia 9 are also integral with and inside of drinking vessel.
Now referring to FIG. 3 b, a cross-sectional view of drinking vessel 3 is shown particularly the screw threaded structure of ridge 8 and the various volume measurement indicia 9 located on the inside of drinking vessel 3.
FIG. 4 is a suede view of a detachable drinking vessel container arrangement in accordance with another embodiment of the invention. The embodiment shown in FIG. 4 includes a container and drinking vessel arrangement 11 where the container 2 is of the same shape, configuration, and construction as that of FIGS. 1-3. However, in the embodiment of FIG. 4, drinking vessel 13 is provided with and has all of the same shape, configuration construction and composition of drinking vessel 3 of FIGS. 1-3 except it lacks indicia 9. Drinking vessel 13 is also capable of resting on top and being secured to container 2 and is also provided with handle 14 used to grip, grasp or otherwise manipulate the drinking vessel 13. Drinking vessel 13 further has a top portion 15 and a bottom portion 16 similar to that of drinking vessel 3. Finally, as will be further disclosed, drinking vessel 13 is also constructed to separate from container 2 as does drinking vessel 3.
Now referring to FIG. 4 a, a top view of the container and drinking vessel arrangement 11 of FIG. 4 is shown and as can be seen from FIG. 4 a, contain and drinking vessel arrangement 11 has a circular cross sectional shape.
Referring to FIG. 4 b, a cross-sectional view of the interior of the detachable drinking vessel and container arrangement 11 of FIG. 4 is shown. Particularly in FIG. 4 b, the configuration of the interior of container 2 and the drinking vessel 13 is shown. Container 2 is provided on its top portion with a lip 7, as previously disclosed, for the filing and or dispensing of a product and with screw threads. Drinking vessel 13, is provided with a ridge 18, integral with and raised up from the bottom portion of drinking vessel as is seen in and discussed further in FIG. 6, is of circular cross-section. Ridge 18 is also screw threaded with the same pitch and sized to fit and secure with the screw threads of lip 7.
FIG. 5 is a side view of the detachable drinking vessel and container arrangement of FIG. 4 having been partially separated and as can be seen from FIG. 4, drinking vessel 13 is constructed to separate from container 2 by being unscrewed by rotating drinking vessel 13 relative to container 1 and then being lifted by griping or grasping handle 14.
Now referring to FIG. 5 a, a top view of the detachable and drinking vessel arrangement of FIG. 4 having been partially separated is shown. As is seen from FIG. 5 a, the vertical alignment of drinking vessel 13 and container 1 is maintained during their separation.
Referring to FIG. 5 b, a cross-sectional view of the detachable drinking vessel and container arrangement of FIG. 5 a having been partially separated is shown. As is seen from FIG. 5 b, drinking vessel 13 has been unscrewed from container 1 and has been lifted vertically by a user gripping or grasping handle 14. Also FIG. 5 b reveals the interior portion 10(20) of lip 7, which portion is constructed to receive or dispense a product from container.
FIG. 6 is a side view of the drinking vessel 13 having been fully separated from the drinking vessel and container arrangement 11 of FIGS. 4 and 5. As seen in FIG. 6, drinking vessel 13 is held vertically by a user with handle 14 allowing for top portion 15 to receive a product from container 2. Referring to FIG. 6 a, a top view of the drinking vessel completely separated from the drinking vessel and container arrangement 11 of FIG. 6 is shown revealing screw threaded circular ridge 18 located integrally and raising from the inside bottom of drinking vessel 13. Referring to FIG. 6 b, a cross-sectional view of drinking vessel 13 is shown particularly the screw threaded structure of ridge 18.
Having now fully disclosed the structural details and features of the drinking vessel and container arrangements 1 and 11, their use will be described. In typical use, container 2 will contain a product, usually a liquid, and particularly, a pharmaceutical, which is desired to be dispensed and consumed. By the screw threaded construction of the drinking vessels 3 and 13 and container 2, at lip 7 of the container and ridge 8 and 18 of the drinking vessels, a user can with great ease remove the drinking vessels, by unscrewing and lifting drinking vessels 3 or 13 from container 2. The user can then dispense as ninth of the product in the drinking vessel, using the volume measurement indicia 9 as a guide, of the drinking vessel 3, or of drinking vessel 13, consume the product and replace drinking vessel 3 or 13 onto container 2 for future use.
The principles of the invention could be practiced by those of skilled in the art with equivalent alternative shapes. The invention may be embodied and practiced in other specific forms without departing from the spirit and essential characteristics thereof. The present embodiments are therefore to be considered all respects as illustrative and not restrictive, the scope of the invention being indicated by the appended claims rather than by the foregoing description; and all variations, substitutions and changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are therefore intended to be embraced therein.
When introducing elements of the present invention or the preferred embodiments) thereof, the articles “a”, “an”, “the”, and “said” are intended to mean there are one or more of the elements. The terms “comprising”, “including”, and “having” are intended to be inclusive and mean that there may be additional elements other than the listed elements.

Claims

What is claimed:

1. A container and drinking vessel arrangement comprising a container and a drinking vessel wherein the drinking vessel rests on the top of and is secured to the container.

2. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 1 wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a handle used to grip, grasp or otherwise manipulate the drinking vessel.

3. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 2 wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a top portion and a bottom portion.

4. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 3 wherein the container and the drinking vessel are composed and constructed of the same material.

5. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 4 wherein the container and the drinking vessel are constructed to contain a product.

6. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 5 wherein the container and the drinking vessel are constructed such that the drinking vessel can separate from the container.

7. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 6 wherein the drinking vessel can receive a product from the container.

8. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 1 wherein the container and drinking vessel arrangement has a circular cross sectional shape.

9. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 1 wherein the container is provided on its top portion with a lip which lip is provided with screw threads and wherein the lip is capable of filing and or dispensing of a product from container.

10. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 9 wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a ridge integral with and raised up from a bottom portion of the drinking vessel and wherein the ridge is of a circular cross-section and wherein the ridge is provided with screw threads with the same pitch and sized to fit and secure with the screw threads of the lip on top of the container.

11. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 10 wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a handle used to grip, grasp or otherwise manipulate the drinking vessel.

12. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 11 wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a top portion and a bottom portion.

13. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 12 wherein the container and the drinking vessel are composed and constructed of the same material.

14. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 13 wherein the container and the drinking vessel are constructed to contain a product.

15. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 14 wherein the drinking vessel can receive a product from the container.

16. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 15 wherein the container and drinking vessel arrangement has a circular cross sectional shape.

17. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 16 wherein the drinking vessel has volume measurement indicia thereon.

18. The container and drinking vessel arrangement of claim 17 wherein the volume measurement indicia are located on the inside of the drinking vessel.

19. A container and drinking vessel arrangement comprising

a container in the shape of a bottle having a circular cross-sectional shape and a height dimension which is substantially greater than its cross-sectional dimension and wherein the container and drinking vessel arrangement is provided with

a drinking vessel resting on top of and secured to the container and wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a handle used to grip, grasp or otherwise manipulate the drinking vessel and wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a top portion and a bottom portion and wherein the container and the drinking vessel are composed and constructed of the same material wherein the container and the drinking vessel are constructed to contain a product wherein the drinking vessel is constructed to separate from the container and wherein the drinking vessel is capable of receiving a product from the container and wherein the container and drinking vessel arrangement has a circular cross sectional shape and wherein the container is provided on its top portion with a lip for the filing and or dispensing of a product and wherein the lip is provided with screw threads, and wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a ridge integral with and raised up from a bottom portion of drinking vessel wherein the ridge is of a circular cross-section and wherein the ridge is also screw threaded with the same pitch and skied to fit and secure with the lip on top of the container and wherein when the container and the drinking vessel are separable from each other by having drinking vessel being unscrewed from the container and being lifted vertically by a user gripping or grasping the drinking vessel handle and wherein the lip is constructed to receive or dispense a product from the container.

20. A container and drinking vessel arrangement comprising

a drinking vessel resting on top of and secured to the container and wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a handle used to grip, grasp or otherwise manipulate the drinking vessel and wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a top portion and a bottom portion and wherein the container and the drinking vessel are composed and constructed of the same material wherein the container and the drinking vessel are constructed to contain a product wherein the drinking vessel is constructed to separate from the container and wherein the drinking vessel is capable of receiving a product from the container and wherein the container and drinking vessel arrangement has a circular cross sectional shape and wherein the container is provided on its top portion with a lip for the filing and or dispensing of a product and wherein the lip is provided with screw threads, and wherein the drinking vessel is provided with a ridge integral with and raised up from a bottom portion of drinking vessel wherein the ridge is of a circular cross-section and wherein the ridge is also screw threaded with the same pitch and sized to fit and secure with the lip on top of the container and wherein when the container and the drinking vessel are separable from each other by having drinking vessel being unscrewed from the container and being lifted vertically by a user gripping or grasping the drinking vessel handle and wherein the lip is constructed to receive or dispense a product from the container and wherein volume measuring indicia are located on the inside of the drinking vessel, to aid a user in pouring or dispensing a product from the container.
