Description
- This application claims the benefit of U.S. Patent Application Ser. No. 61/704,070, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
- This disclosure relates to implementations of a portable bed cover dispenser.
- Disposable bed covers may be used to protect a mattress, bed linens, mattress pads, etc., for a variety of purposes. Unfortunately, a clean bed cover is not always readily available and must be found or otherwise acquired. Currently, there does not exist a portable bed cover dispenser for dispensing bed covers that may be easily secured to a bed to provide easy access to disposable bed covers when desired.

FIG. 1A illustrates an example bed cover dispenser according to the present disclosure. -
FIG. 1B illustrates a side-view of an example bed cover dispenser resting on a bed frame according to the present disclosure. -
FIGS. 2-4 illustrate a method of using a bed cover dispenser manufactured in accordance with the present disclosure. - Implementations of a portable bed cover dispenser that can be used in conjunction with a bed frame and can dispense customizable-sized bed covers are provided. In some implementations, a bed cover can be sized based on the size (e.g., width) of the bed.
- Implementations of a bed cover dispenser according to the present disclosure may comprise a resting piece to rest on part of a bed frame. In some implementations, the resting piece can rest on a portion of the bed frame extending the length of the bed on one side of the bed. In some implementations, the resting piece can rest on a portion of a bed frame on which an edge of a mattress rests. In some implementations, the frame and the mattress may secure the bed cover disperser without any additional attachment mechanisms. In some implementations, attachment mechanisms may be used to secure the bed cover dispenser to the bed frame.
- Implementations of a bed cover dispenser according to the present disclosure further may comprise a bed cover holder to hold a continuous roll of material that comprises the bed cover. In some implementations, the continuous roll of material comprises a material wrapped around a roll. In some implementations, the material may comprise a soft, absorbent material. In some implementation, the material may comprise a transparent material. In some implementations, the material may be water/leak-proof. In some implementations, the material may be disposable, recyclable, and/or eco-friendly. In some implementations, the material can be retracted back onto the roll once dispensed from the roll. In some implementations, the . material may be elastic.
- In some implementations, a bed cover dispenser according to the present disclosure further may comprise a cutter to cut the continuous roll of material after the bed cover material has been dispensed and is ready to be disposed of. In some implementations, the cutter may include a slider with a sharp edge that can move from one end of the bed cover dispenser to the other end to cut the roll of material.
-
FIGS. 1A and 1B illustrate an examplebed cover dispenser 100 according to the present disclosure. In some implementations, thebed cover dispenser 100 comprises aresting piece 105 to rest on part of abed frame 150 and abed cover holder 110 configured to hold a continuous roll ofmaterial 115 that comprises the bed cover. This disclosure is not limited to any particularbed cover holder 110. - In some implementations, the
resting piece 105 rest on a portion of thebed frame 150 extending the length of the bed on one side of the bed. In some implementations, as shown inFIG. 1B , theresting piece 105 rest on a portion of abed frame 150 on which an edge of amattress 160 rests. In some implementations, theframe 150 and themattress 160 may secure the bed cover disperser 100 without any additional attachment mechanisms. In some implementations, attachment mechanisms may be used to secure thebed cover dispenser 100 to the bed. One of ordinary skill in the art with the benefit of this disclosure would know what attachment mechanisms (e.g., screws, bolts, or any other attachment means known or future developed) to use to secure thebed cover dispenser 100 to a bed. - In some implementations, the continuous roll of
material 115 comprises amaterial 115 a wrapped around aroll 115 b. In some implementations, thematerial 115 a may comprise a soft, absorbent material. In some implementation, thematerial 115 a may comprise a transparent material. In some implementations, thematerial 115 a may be water/leak-proof. In some implementations, thematerial 115 a may be disposable, recyclable, and/or eco-friendly. In some implementations, thematerial 115 a may be elastic. - In some implementation, the
bed cover holder 110 and the continuous roll ofmaterial 115 are configured such that thematerial 115 a can retract back onto theroll 115 b once thematerial 115 a is dispensed from theroll 115 b. In some implementations, the continuous roll of material is detachable from thebed cover holder 110. - In some implementations, the
bed cover dispenser 100 further comprises a cutter (not shown) to cut the roll ofmaterial 115 after thebed cover material 115 has been dispensed and ready to be disposed. In some implementations, the cutter may include a slider with a sharp edge that can moves from one end of thebed cover dispenser 100 to the other end to cut the roll ofmaterial 115. -
FIGS. 2-4 illustrate a method of using thebed cover dispenser 110 to cover a portion of a bed (e.g., a mattress or sheets) with thebed cover material 115. As shown inFIGS. 2-3 , one end of thematerial 115 a is pulled from theroll 115 b (FIG. 2 ) and over the bed to cover a portion of the bed (seeFIG. 3 ). In some implementations, as shown inFIG. 4 , the end of thematerial 115 a can be tucked under a mattress on the other side of the bed from where thebed cover dispenser 100 is installed to secure the end of the material. Once thebed cover material 115 a has been used, it may be detached from thebed cover roll 115 a using a cutter to cut the used material from the roll. - In some implementations, a portion of the
material 115 a dispensed from the roll (e.g., an unsoiled portion) may be retracted back on the roll before cutting the material. - The
bed cover dispenser 100 of the present disclosure can be made of wood, plastic, metal, or any other material or any combination of the foregoing. In some implementations, thebed cover dispenser 100 is lightweight and portable. - Reference throughout this specification to “an embodiment” or “an implementation” or words of similar import means that a particular described feature, structure, or characteristic is included in at least one embodiment of the present invention.
