Attachment portions of the fixing nuts 40 will be described below in detail.

Abstract

An outer surface of a crosspiece portion of a leg body in a width direction is formed with a concave stepped portion that is recessed toward the inside of the crosspiece portion in the width direction. The concave stepped portion is formed over the entire length of the crosspiece portion. The concave stepped portion is provided with an attachment seat which an optional member is connected to. The concave stepped portion is blocked by a detachable cover member, so that it is possible to provide a desk device that enables the optional member to be added to the outer surface of the leg body if necessary without causing deterioration in the quality of external appearance.

Description

    TECHNICAL FIELD
  • The present invention relates to a desk device to be used in a work space, such as an office.
  • Priority is claimed on Japanese Patent Application Nos. 2012-218665 and 2012-218667, filed Sep. 28, 2012, the content of which is incorporated herein by reference.
  • BACKGROUND ART
  • Generally, desk devices in which a top plate is supported by a pair of leg bodies installed on a floor surface are used in a work space, such as an office.
  • As the leg bodies of these types of desk devices, a type (a so-called L-type leg) that is formed so that a lower pipe extending along a floor surface and is placed sideways on the floor surface, a vertical pipe extending upward from one end or a central portion of the lower pipe, and an upper pipe extending parallel to the lower pipe from the upper end of the vertical pipe form a U-shape in a side view, and a type (a so-called T-type) that is formed so that these pipes form an H-shape are seen in many cases. Additionally, as the leg bodies made of materials other than the pipe material, panel-like types are also seen in many cases.
  • Since floor surface contact portions in the leg bodies are large in the structure of these desk devices, a top plate unit can be firmly and stably supported by the leg bodies. However, this structure may give a heavy impression to a user and may not have preferable appearance as the desk devices. Additionally, since the floor surface contact portions of the leg bodies are large, the structure of these desk devices is apt to interfere with work when the floor surface is cleaned.
  • Meanwhile, as a desk device in which these problems do not occur easily, a type in which rod-shaped leg bodies are respectively attached to four corners of a rectangular top plate unit and respective lower ends of the rod-shaped leg bodies are installed on a floor surface is also seen in many cases.
  • However, the top plate unit is supported only by the rod-shaped leg bodies. Thus, the structure of this desk device is unstable in terms of the strength against an external force from a lateral side of the desk device.
  • As a desk device that has solved such a problem, there is suggested a device which is provided with a pair of leg bodies, each leg body being formed by coupling a pair of rod-shaped main leg body portions by means of a crosspiece portion, and a plurality of coupling rods that couple upper portions of the pair of leg bodies arranged to be separated from each other in the width direction, and which is capable of attaching the top plate unit to upper surfaces of the crosspiece portion of each leg body and the coupling rods (for example, refer to Patent Document 1).
  • Additionally, in this type of desk device, it is desired that an optional member, such as an extension top plate, a cabinet, and an article hanging hook, can be added to an outer surface of the crosspiece portion of the upper portion of the leg body later.
  • As a desk device that meets such a desire, there is suggested a device in which a coupling rod that couples a plurality of leg bodies is made to support a top plate, and an upper surface of the coupling rod is set to be higher than upper surfaces of the leg bodies, and which is capable of installing an auxiliary stay that supports a lower surface of the extension top plate through a gap between the upper surfaces of the leg bodies and the top plate (for example, refer to Patent Document 2).

    SUMMARY OF INVENTION Technical Problem
  • However, in the above related-art desk devices, it is necessary to provide the gap between the upper surfaces of the leg bodies and the top plate, or to perform processing for attaching the auxiliary stay. As a result, there is a concern that the quality of external appearance may be impaired. Additionally, since the above related-art desk devices are structured so as to extend the plate-like auxiliary stay toward the outside of the top plate from the gap between the upper surfaces of the leg bodies and the top plate, and an upper surface of the extending portion of the auxiliary stay is made to support an extension top plate that is an optional member, the desk devices are unstable in terms of support strength when the optional member is a heavy load.
  • Thus, the present invention provides a desk device that can add an optional member to the outer surface of the leg body if necessary, without causing deterioration in the quality of external appearance, and that can stably and firmly attach the optional member to the leg body even if the optional member to be added to the outer end surface of the top plate is a heavy load.
  • Solution to Problem
  • A first aspect according to the present invention is a desk device including a pair of leg bodies, each leg body being formed by coupling two main leg body portions, which are installed on a floor surface and extend in an up-down direction, by means of a crosspiece portion at upper portions of the main leg body portions; a plurality of coupling rods that extend along a width direction orthogonal to a depth direction, which is a direction in which the crosspiece portion extends, and that couples upper portions of the pair of leg bodies together; and a top plate that is supported by upper portions of the pair of leg bodies and the plurality of coupling rods. A concave stepped portion, which is recessed toward the inside of the crosspiece portion in the width direction, is formed over the entire length of the crosspiece portion, on an outer surface, in the width direction, of the crosspiece portion of at least one of the leg bodies. The concave stepped portion is provided with an attachment seat which an optional member is connected to, and a cover member, which blocks the concave stepped portion, is detachably attached to the concave stepped portion.
  • Accordingly, when no optional member is attached to the outer surface of the crosspiece portion of the leg portion, the concave stepped portion is blocked by the cover member, and when an optional member is attached, it is possible to detach the cover member and to attach the optional member to the outer surface of the crosspiece portion through the attachment seat within the concave stepped portion.
  • In a second aspect of the present invention based on the desk device according to the first aspect, the cover member is formed in a shape substantially complementary to the concave stepped portion.
  • In a third aspect of the present invention based on the desk device according to the first aspect or the second aspect, an outer exposed surface of the cover member forms a flat surface substantially flush with an outer surface of the crosspiece portion in the width direction in a state where the cover member is attached to the concave stepped portion.
  • In a fourth aspect of the present invention based on the desk device according to any one of the first aspect to the third aspect, the concave stepped portion is formed at a position separated upward from a lower end of the crosspiece portion.
  • Accordingly, the cover member attached to the concave stepped portion is not exposed downward from the lower end of the crosspiece portion, and the cover member is not easily dropped out or damaged.
  • In a fifth aspect of the present invention based on the desk device according to any one of the first aspect to the fourth aspect, the main leg body portion and the crosspiece portion are formed of a metallic material, and the crosspiece portion having the concave stepped portion is butted against upper side surface of the main leg body portion and is welded to the main leg body portion within the concave stepped portion.
  • Accordingly, welded portions within the concave stepped portion are hidden from the outside by attaching the cover member to the concave stepped portion. As a result, the appearance as the desk device can be made excellent.
  • In a sixth aspect of the present invention, a bracket for butting and attaching an optional member against and to an outer end surface of the top plate in the width direction orthogonal to the depth direction that is a direction in which the crosspiece portion extends is detachably attached to the crosspiece portion, and the optional member has an article placement surface formed continuously with an upper surface of the top plate, and the bracket has an optional fixing wall that abuts against a lower surface of the optional member and supports and fixes the optional member, and a leg fixing wall that is attached to the outer surface of the crosspiece portion in the width direction.
  • In the case of the present invention, when an optional member is attached to the outer end surface of the top plate in the width direction, the bracket is attached to the outer surface of the crosspiece portion in the width direction in the portion of the leg fixing wall, and the optional member is supported and fixed by the optional fixing wall of the bracket in a state where the optional member is butted against the outer end surface of the top plate in the width direction.
  • In a seventh aspect of the present invention based on the desk device according to the sixth aspect, an outer surface of the leg body in the width direction is arranged inside the outer end surface of the top plate in the width direction.
  • Accordingly, the attachment portion of the bracket on the crosspiece portion is located inside the lower side of the top plate in the width direction, and deterioration in external appearance is avoided.
  • An eighth aspect of the present invention based on the desk device according to the seventh aspect further includes a cover member that covers the attachment seat of the bracket on the crosspiece portion when the bracket is not attached to the crosspiece portion. An outer surface of the cover member is arranged flush with the outer surface of the top plate in the width direction or inside the outer surface in a state where the cover member covers the attachment seat.
  • Accordingly, even when no optional member is attached to the crosspiece portion, the cover member that covers the attachment seat of the bracket does not protrude toward the outside in the width direction below the top plate, and deterioration in external appearance is avoided. Additionally, when the end surface of the top plate in the width direction is arranged in proximity to a top plate according to another desk device, a wall, or the like, a gap is not formed between the top plate and the other desk device, the wall, or the like.
  • In a ninth aspect of o the present invention based on the desk device according to the seventh aspect or the eighth aspect, the outer surface of the crosspiece portion in the width direction is provided with a concave stepped portion, which is recessed toward the inside of the crosspiece portion in the width direction, and the attachment seat of the bracket is provided within the concave stepped portion.
  • In a tenth aspect of the present invention based on the desk device according to any one of the sixth aspect to the ninth aspect, the bracket is formed such that an upper surface of the optional fixing wall inclines upward toward the outside in the width direction, in a state where the bracket is attached to the crosspiece portion.
  • Accordingly, the outer side of the optional member in the width direction when the large weight of the optional member is applied to the bracket can be prevented from inclining downward.
  • Advantageous Effects of Invention
  • According to the present invention, the outer surface of the crosspiece portion of at least one leg body in the width direction is formed with the concave stepped portion, the concave stepped portion is provided with the attachment seat which an optional member is connected to, and the cover member that blocks the concave stepped portion is detachably attached to the concave stepped portion. Therefore, an optional member can be added to the outer surface of the leg body if necessary without causing deterioration in the quality of external appearance. Moreover, when an optional member is added to the outer end surface of the top plate, the leg fixing wall of the bracket can be attached to the outer surface of the crosspiece portion of the leg body in the width direction, and in that state, the lower surface of the optional member can be supported by the optional fixing wall of the bracket. Therefore, the outer surface of the crosspiece portion in the width direction can be made to support the load of the optional member via the bracket. Accordingly, according to the present invention, even if an optional member to be added is a heavy load, the optional member can be stably and firmly attached to the leg body.

  • DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS
  • Hereinafter, a desk device of an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
  • In addition, in the following description, a direction perpendicular to a floor surface F is referred to as an up-down direction, a longer direction (longitudinal direction) of the top plate unit 100 is referred to as a width direction, a shorter direction of the top plate unit 100 is referred to as a depth direction, an arrow that connects LH and RH in the drawings indicates the width direction, and an arrow that connects FR and RR in the drawings indicates the depth direction. The depth direction is a direction that coincides with a direction in which a crosspiece portion 25 of a leg body 20 to be described below extends. The width direction is a direction orthogonal to the up-down direction and the depth direction. Additionally, in respective embodiments to be described below, the same portions will be designated by the same reference numerals, and duplicate descriptions will be omitted.
  • FIG. 1 is a view showing an overall desk device 1 installed on the floor surface F, and FIG. 2 is a view showing a top view of a half of the desk device 1 in the width direction. Additionally, FIG. 3 is a view showing a top plate support 10 to which the top plate unit 100 is attached. In addition, in FIG. 3, the top plate unit 100 is shown by a phantom line.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the top plate unit 100 has four top plate members 2 a, 2 b, 2 c, and 2 d that are rectangular in a plan view. The top plate members 2 a, 2 b, 2 c, and 2 d form a desk upper surface in which two top plate members 2 a and 2 b and two top plate members 2 c and 2 d are respectively continuous with a constant depth width such that end surfaces thereof in the longitudinal direction are butted against each other. A pair 2A and 2B (hereinafter referred to as “ top plates 2A and 2B”) of the two sets of top plate members that forms the continuous desk upper surface are arranged to face each other with a separation space 3 interposed therebetween at the center in the depth direction. The top plates 2A and the 2B are arranged to face each other such that longer sides are parallel to each other, and the separation space 3 at the center in the depth direction is continuous along the width direction.
  • In addition, in this embodiment, the top plates 2A and 2B are respectively constituted of the two top plate members 2 a and 2 b and the two top plate members 2 c and 2 d. However, each of the top plates 2A and 2B may also be constituted of one continuous plate.
  • The top plate support 10 includes a pair of leg bodies 20 and 20 that are arranged at both ends in the width direction, and outer coupling rods 30 and 30 and inner coupling rods 31 and 31 that couple upper portions of the pair of leg bodies 20 and 20. In this embodiment, an intermediate leg 22 is arranged between the pair of leg bodies 20 and 20, and a relay unit 23 is provided at an upper portion of the intermediate leg 22.
  • The outer coupling rods 30 and 30 are arranged in parallel along the width direction at the ends of the top plate support 10 on both sides in the depth direction, and support outer edge portions of the top plates 2A and 2B of the top plate unit 100 in the depth direction from below. In the case of this embodiment, a pair of metallic angular tube members 30 a and 30 b is integrally coupled via the relay unit 23, and thereby, each of the outer coupling rods 30 linearly extends along the width direction in its entirety.
  • The inner coupling rods 31 and 31 are arranged parallel to the outer coupling rods 30 and 30 at a central region of the top plate support 10 in the depth direction, and respectively support inner edge portions of the top plates 2A and 2B of the top plate unit 100 in the depth direction from below. The inner coupling rods 31 and 31 are arranged to be separated from each other at a predetermined distance in the depth direction. In the case of this embodiment, a pair of metallic angular tube members 31 a and 31 b is integrally coupled via the relay unit 23, and thereby, each inner coupling rod 31 linearly extends along the width direction in its entirety. In addition, the respective angular tube members 31 a, 31 a, 31 b, and 31 b of the inner coupling rods 31 and 31 are practically constituted as components of two ladder- type coupling units 35A and 35B to be described in detail below.
  • Meanwhile, the leg bodies 20 arranged both sides in the width direction include two main leg body portions 24 and 24 that are installed on the floor surface F and extend in the up-down direction, and a crosspiece portion 25 that extends along the depth direction and couples upper portions of the main leg body portions 24 and 24. Each main leg body portion 24 has an essential portion made of metallic angular pipes, and end plates are welded and fixed to upper and lower ends of the angular pipe.
  • The crosspiece portion 25 is obtained by two press-formed metal plates being combined together, and an essential portion thereof is formed in a tubular shape. Both ends of the crosspiece portion 25 in a longitudinal direction are welded and fixed to upper side surfaces of the main leg body portions 24 and 24. In this way, the leg body 20 in which the crosspiece portion 25 is coupled to the upper portions of the two main leg body portions 24 and 24 is formed in a gate shape (U-shape of which an opening side faces downward) in a side view as seen from the width direction.
  • FIG. 4 is a view showing a portion of the leg body 20 in an enlarged manner, FIG. 5 is a cross-sectional view of the crosspiece portion 25 corresponding to an A-A cross-section of FIG. 4, and FIG. 6 is a top view of the leg body 20. Additionally, FIG. 7 is a view of the leg body 20 seen from the inside in the width direction, and FIG. 8 is a view parts of the leg body 20 seen obliquely from below, and FIG. 9 is a view of a portion of the leg body 20 seen obliquely from below. Additionally, FIG. 10 is a plan view of the leg body 20 in which the crosspiece portion 25 is cross-sectioned along a D-D cross-section of FIG. 4, and FIG. 11 is a perspective view of the crosspiece portion 25 including the A-A cross-section of FIG. 4.
  • The essential portion of the crosspiece portion 25 of the leg body 20, as shown in FIG. 5, is formed by a first plate 25A and a second plate 25B that are elongated in the depth direction and made of metal. The first plate 25A and the second plate 25B are bent and shaped by press forming, and both are welded to each other and are brought into a closed (hollow) cross-section. An outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction is formed with a concave stepped portion 26 that extends along the depth direction. The concave stepped portion 26 is arranged substantially at the center of the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the height direction and the same cross-sectional shape is continuous over the entire length of the crosspiece portion 25.
  • Accordingly, the concave stepped portion 26 is formed at a position separated upward from a lower end of the crosspiece portion 25.
  • A cover member 27 having a shape substantially complementary to the concave stepped portion 26 is detachably attached within the concave stepped portion 26. The cover member 27 is detachably locked to the concave stepped portion 26, for example, by concavo-convex engagement, screw fastening, or the like. Additionally, the surface of the cover member 27 exposed to the outside of the concave stepped portion 26 is a flat surface, and the flat surface becomes substantially flush with the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction when the cover member 27 is attached to the concave stepped portion 26. Additionally, since the concave stepped portion 26 is formed at the position separated upward from the lower end of the crosspiece portion 25, the cover member 27 attached within the concave stepped portion 26 is also arranged at a position separated upward from the lower end of the crosspiece portion 25.
  • As shown in FIGS. 4 and 10, a flat bottom wall 26 a within the concave stepped portion 26 is provided with attachment seats 12 for attaching an optional member, such as a cabinet 47 shown in FIG. 12 to 14 or an extension top plate 57 shown in FIG. 15. Each attachment seat 12 is provided with a plurality of bolt insertion holes 13, and fixing nuts 40 (refer to FIGS. 10 and 11) into which optional member attaching bolts 60 (refer to FIGS. 12 to 15) inserted into the bolt insertion holes 13 are fitted are attached to a back surface side of the bottom wall 26 a of the concave stepped portion 26. Attachment portions of the fixing nuts 40 will be described below in detail. The cover member 27 is attached within the concave stepped portion 26 by blocking the concave stepped portion 26 when an optional member is not attached to the crosspiece portion 25, and is detached from the concave stepped portion 26 when the optional member is attached.
  • Additionally, although the ends of the crosspiece portion 25 are abutted against and welded and fixed to the upper side surfaces of the main leg body portion 24 as described above, welding spots to the main leg body portion 24 outside the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction are set in an inner region of the concave stepped portion 26, as shown by reference numerals w1, w2, and w3 in FIG. 4.
  • Additionally, as shown in FIGS. 5 to 7 and FIG. 9, a stepped portion 32, which is recessed downward with a predetermined depth, is continuously provided along the depth direction at an upper corner portion inside the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction. Supporting arms 28 and 28 made of metal for combining outer ends of the angular tube members 30 a or 30 b of the outer coupling rods 30 and 30 in the width direction, and supporting arms 29 and 29 made of metal for combining outer ends of the angular tube members 31 a or 31 b of the inner coupling rods 31 and 31 in the width direction are attached to the stepped portion 32.
  • The supporting arms 28 and 29, as shown in FIGS. 6 to 11, respectively include substantially U-shaped coupling rod holding portions 28 a and 29 a that are open upward, and top plate supporting walls 28 b and 29 b that horizontally extend substantially at the same height position as a top surface 25 a of the crosspiece portion 25, and support lower surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B.
  • Here, the height of the angular tube members 31 a and 31 b of the inner coupling rod 31 in the up-down direction is substantially equal to the height from a bottom surface 32 a of the stepped portion 32 to the top surface 25 a of the crosspiece portion 25, and the height of the angular tube members 30 a and 30 b of the outer coupling rod 30 in the up-down direction is substantially a half of the height of the angular tube members 31 a and 31 b of the inner coupling rod 31 in the up-down direction.
  • The supporting arm 29 that holds the inner coupling rod 31 has an end surface butted against a vertical wall 32 b of the stepped portion 32 of the crosspiece portion 25, a lower surface (surface along the width direction) of the coupling rod holding portion 29 a is butted against the bottom surface 32 a of the stepped portion 32, and the butted portions are welded and fixed to each other.
  • Additionally, the supporting arm 28 that holds the outer coupling rod 30 includes a bent portion 28 c, which is bent downward at substantially right angles, at an outer end in the depth direction, and has an overall end surface butted against the vertical wall 32 b of the stepped portion 32 of the crosspiece portion 25, an outer side surface (surface along the width direction) of the bent portion 28 c in the depth direction is butted against the inner side surface of the main leg body portion 24 that faces a side end of the stepped portion 32, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 9, and the butted portions are welded and fixed to each other.
  • Incidentally, as shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, a plurality of spacer members 41 that abut against facing surfaces of both of the vertical wall 32 b and the bottom wall 26 a and reinforce the cross-section of the crosspiece portion 25 are attached between the vertical wall 32 b of the stepped portion 32 of the crosspiece portion 25 and the bottom wall 26 a of the concave stepped portion 26. The spacer member 41 is constituted by a pair of flange portions 41 a and 41 a, and a metal plate that are sandwiched by the flange portions 41 a and 41 a, has a top surface 41 b, and is bent to have a substantially hat-shaped cross-section. Additionally, the flange portions 41 a and 41 a, which are equivalent to collars on both sides of the hat-like cross-section, are welded and fixed to a back surface (a surface arranged inside the cross-section of the crosspiece portion 25) of the bottom wall 26 a of the concave stepped portion 26, and the flat top surface 41 b, which is equivalent to a top portion of the hat-like cross-section, abuts against a back surface (a surface arranged inside the cross-section of the crosspiece portion 25) of the stepped portion 32.
  • The spacer members 41 are respectively arranged at the positions of the crosspiece portions 25 to which the supporting arms 28, 28, 29, and 29 are attached, that is, positions on an extension of a coupling portion of the outer coupling rod 30, and positions on an extension of a coupling portion of the inner coupling rod 31. In addition, in FIG. 11, the crosspiece portion 25 is shown in a state where the supporting arms 29 are removed, for convenience of illustration.
  • Additionally, the flange portions 41 a and 41 a on both sides are arranged at front and rear positions in the depth direction with the top surface 41 b interposed therebetween, in a state where the spacer member 41 is attached to the inside of the crosspiece portion 25. Each flange portion 41 a is provided with a plurality of bolt insertion holes 42 (refer to FIG. 10), and the fixing nuts 40 are provided so as to become concentrical with the bolt insertion holes 42, respectively. The respective bolt insertion holes 42 and the respective fixing nuts 40 of the spacer member 41 are provided concentrically with the bolt insertion holes 13 provided in the attachment seat 12 of the bottom wall 26 a of the concave stepped portion 26. The optional member attaching bolts 60 (refer to FIGS. 12 to 15) are respectively fitted into the fixing nuts 40 provided at the spacer member 41 as described above when an optional member is attached to the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction. Accordingly, each attachment seat 12 provided within the concave stepped portion 26 is located outside an installation portion of the spacer member 41 in the width direction.
  • Meanwhile, in the intermediate leg 22 (shown in FIG. 3) arranged between the pair of leg bodies 20 and 20, a metal plate is joined to a frame and is formed like a panel. The relay unit 23 is integrally attached to an upper end of the intermediate leg 22. In the relay unit 23, supporting arms 18 and 18 made of metal for combining inner ends of the angular tube members 30 a or 30 b of the outer coupling rods 30 and 30 in the width direction, and supporting arms 19 and 19 made of metal for combining inner ends of the angular tube members 31 a or 31 b of the inner coupling rods 31 and 31 in the width direction are attached to side surfaces on both sides, in the width direction, of an angular tubular stay 17 extending in the depth direction.
  • The angular tube member 30 a of each of the outer coupling rods 30 and 30 is laid between the supporting arm 28 of one leg body 20 and the supporting arm 18 of one side surface of the relay unit 23, and the angular tube member 30 b of each of the remaining outer coupling rods is laid between the supporting arm 28 of the other leg body 20 and the supporting arm 18 of the other side surface of the relay unit 23. Similarly, the angular tube member 31 a of each of the inner coupling rods 31 and 31 is laid between the supporting arm 29 of one leg body 20 and the supporting arm 19 of one side surface of the relay unit 23, and the angular tube member 31 b of each of the remaining inner coupling rods is laid between the supporting arm 29 of the other leg body 20 and the supporting arm 19 of the other side surface of the relay unit 23.
  • In a coupling unit 35A that has the angular tube members 31 a and 31 a as components, the angular tube members 31 a and 31 a that are arranged to face each other are coupled together by three bridge members 36 a, 36 b, and 36 c that extend in the depth direction. Similarly, in a coupling unit 35B that has the angular tube members 31 b and 31 b as components, the angular tube members 31 b and 31 b that are arranged to face each other are coupled together by three bridge members 36 a, 36 b, and 36 c that extend in the depth direction. The coupling units 35A and 35B have the same structure.
  • Rectangular space portions are respectively provided between the bridge members 36 a, 36 b, and 36 c adjacent to each other, and wiring ducts 37 (wiring receiving members) having a concave cross-section are respectively arranged below these space portions. The respective wiring ducts 37 are fixed to lower surfaces of the angular tube members 31 a and 31 a or the angular tube members 31 b and 31 b of the inner coupling rods 31 and 31 by screw fastening or the like. The wiring ducts 37 are portions that allow wiring, such as electrical wiring or communication wiring, which is drawn from the outside of the desk device 1, to be passed therethrough and be held thereby. The wiring passed through the wiring ducts 37 are drawn out onto the top plates 2A and 2B through the respective space portions between the bridge members 36 a, 36 b, and 36 c adjacent to each other and the separation space 3 at the center of the top plate unit 100 in the depth direction.
  • Additionally, respective two wiring covers 38 and 38 are tiltably laid between the respective adjacent bridge members 36 a, 36 b, and 36 c of the coupling units 35A and 35B. The wiring covers 38 and 38 are openably and closably arranged within the separation space 3 at the center of the top plate unit 100 in the depth direction in a state where the top plate unit 100 is attached onto the top plate support 10, and can be appropriately opened according to the layout of the wiring.
  • In addition, reference numeral 39 in FIGS. 1 and 2 designates a hiding member that fills a gap between the front and rear wiring covers 38 and 38 in the depth direction.
  • In the top plates 2A and 2B of the top plate unit 100, the separation space 3 is provided at the centers of both the top plates in the depth direction, is placed at an upper portion of the top plate support 10, and is fastened and fixed to the supporting arms 28, 29, 18, 19, and the like that are members on the top plate support 10 side in that state.
  • Incidentally, four metallic brackets 45 . . . for additionally installing an optional member, such as the cabinet 47 as shown in FIGS. 1, 12, and 13 or the extension top plate 57 shown in FIG. 15 are attached to the crosspiece portion 25 of each leg body 20 mentioned above.
  • The cabinet 47 shown in FIGS. 1, 12, and 13 has a bottom plate 47 a that is butted against outer end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction, a pair of side plates 47 b and 47 b and a partition plate 47 c are erected from both ends and a center of the upper surface of the bottom plate 47 a in the depth direction, a back plate 47 d is erected from an outer end of the upper surface of the bottom plate 47 a in the width direction, and upper portions of the side plates 47 b and 47 b, the partition plate 47 c, and the back plate 47 d are closed by an upper plate 47 e. The bottom plate 47 a of the cabinet 47 is formed with the same thickness as the top plates 2A and 2B. The bottom plate 47 a is butted against and installed on the outer end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction, and thereby, the bottom plate serves as an article placement surface of which the upper surface is continuous with upper surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B. Files f, documents, or the like can be housed on the bottom plate 47 a.
  • Each bracket 45, as shown in FIG. 13, includes a base wall 50 that is a right triangle in a side view, a leg fixing flange 51 (leg fixing wall) connected to one of the sides that sandwich a right-angled corner portion of the base wall 50, and an optional fixing flange 52 (optional fixing wall) connected to the other side. The leg fixing flange 51 is formed with an up-and-down width such that the leg fixing flange fits into an opening of the concave stepped portion 26 of the crosspiece portion 25, is butted against a corresponding attachment seat 12 within the concave stepped portion 26, and is capable of being fastened to the attachment seat 12 with bolts in that state. Additionally, the bottom plate 47 a of the cabinet 47 is placed on an upper surface of the optional fixing flange 52, and a plurality of screws 53 . . . are capable of being fixed to a lower surface of the bottom plate 47 a.
  • The upper surface of the optional fixing flange 52 is formed so as to incline upward by a minute angle α toward the outside in the width direction, in a state where the bracket 45 is attached to the attachment seat 12 within the concave stepped portion 26 of the crosspiece portion 25.
  • Additionally, the extension top plate 57 shown in FIG. 15 has an inner end surface in the width direction butted against the outer end surface of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction, and is supported by and fixed to the bracket 45 attached to the attachment seat within the concave stepped portion 26 of the crosspiece portion 25 in that state.
  • Additionally, an outer surface of each leg body 20 in the width direction is arranged inside the outer end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction. In the case of this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 14, an end surface of the main leg body portion 24 of the leg body 20 is arranged slightly outside an end surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction. However, the main leg body portion 24 is arranged on the inside in the width direction by a minute distance d with respect to the outer end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction.
  • In addition, when an optional member, such as the cabinet 47, is not attached to the crosspiece portion 25, the bracket 45 is detached from the crosspiece portion 25 and the concave stepped portion 26 is closed by the cover member 27. However, the cover member 27 is set so that an outer surface (outer exposed surface) thereof becomes flush with the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction, in a state where the cover member is attached to the concave stepped portion 26 as mentioned above. Therefore, the cover member 27 attached to the concave stepped portion 26 is arranged inside the outer end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction.
  • As described above, in the desk device 1 according to this embodiment, the concave stepped portion 26 that is recessed toward the inside of the crosspiece portion in the width direction is formed in the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 of the leg body 20 in the width direction so as to cover the entire length of the crosspiece portion 25, a bottom portion of the concave stepped portion 26 is provided with the attachment seat 12 which an optional member is connected to, and the concave stepped portion 26 is detachably closed by the cover member 27. Therefore, when no optional member is attached to the outside of the leg body 20 in the width direction, a situation in which the attachment seat 12 or the like in the concave stepped portion 26 is exposed to the outside and the quality (attractiveness) of the external appearance of the desk device 1 deteriorates can be avoided by closing the concave stepped portion 26 of the crosspiece portion 25 with the cover member 27.
  • On the other hand, in the desk device 1, when an optional member is attached, the optional member can be attached to the attachment seat 12 within the concave stepped portion 26 by detaching the cover member 27 from the concave stepped portion 26 of the crosspiece portion 25.
  • Accordingly, in the desk device 1, an optional member can be added to the outer surface of the leg body 20 if necessary, without causing deterioration in the quality of external appearance.
  • Additionally, the desk device 1 of this embodiment has a structure in which the optional member attaching bracket 45 includes the optional fixing flange 52 that abuts against a lower surface of an optional member and supports and fixes the optional member, and the leg fixing flange 51 that is attached to the attachment seat 12 of the crosspiece portion 25. Therefore, for example, when the cabinet 47 is added to the end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction, the leg fixing flange 51 of the bracket 45 can be attached to the outer attachment seat 12 in the width direction of the crosspiece portion 25, and a lower surface of the cabinet 47 can be supported by the optional fixing flange 52 of the bracket 45 in that state. For this reason, the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction can be made to support the load of the cabinet 47 or the like that is an optional member via the bracket 45 having a cantilevered structure.
  • Accordingly, in the desk device 1, even if an optional member to be added is a heavy load, the optional member can be stably and firmly attached to the leg body 20.
  • Additionally, in the desk device 1 of this embodiment, the outer surface of the leg body 20 in the width direction, particularly, the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction is arranged inside the outer end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction. Therefore, when an optional member is attached, the leg fixing flange 51 that is a fixing portion of the bracket 45 on the crosspiece portion 25 side is located below and inside the end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B, and the leg fixing flange 51, the bolts 60, and the like are not easily seen from the outside. Accordingly, the quality of the external appearance of the desk device 1 when an optional member is added is improved by virtue of this structure.
  • Additionally, in the desk device 1, since the cover member 27 is formed in substantially the same shape as the concave stepped portion 26, the rigidity of the cover member 27 can be maintained highly and crushing or deformation of the cover member 27 can be prevented.
  • Additionally, in the case of this desk device 1, the concave stepped portion 26 is formed over the entire length of the crosspiece portion 25 in the longitudinal direction. Thus, there is also an advantage that the bending rigidity or torsional stiffness of the crosspiece portion 25 can be enhanced by virtue of the curved cross-sectional shape of the crosspiece portion 25.
  • Moreover, in the desk device 1 of this embodiment, the outer exposed surface of the cover member 27 is a flat surface that becomes flush with the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction when the cover member 27 is attached to the concave stepped portion 26. Thus, attractiveness from the outside of the leg body 20 can be further enhanced.
  • Additionally, in the case of this embodiment, the concave stepped portion 26 is formed at the position separated upward from the lower end of the crosspiece portion 25. Thus, the cover member 27 is not exposed below the crosspiece portion 25 in a state where the cover member 27 is attached to the concave stepped portion 26. For this reason, a problem that a human being or an article may contact the cover member 27 from below or the cover member 27 may be dropped out or damaged when the desk device 1 is used can be eliminated.
  • Additionally, in the desk device 1 of this embodiment, the two main leg body portions 24 and the crosspiece portion 25 of the leg body 20 are formed of a metallic material, and the crosspiece portion 25 and the respective main leg body portions 24 are welded and fixed inside the concave stepped portion 26 in a state where the end surfaces on both sides of the crosspiece portion 25 are butted against the main leg body portions 24. Therefore, the welding spots can be covered from the outside by attaching the cover member 27 to the concave stepped portion 26. Accordingly, in the desk device 1, the quality of external appearance can be improved while maintaining sufficient welding strength.
  • In the case of this embodiment, when no optional member is attached, the cover member 27 that covers the front of the attachment seat 12 is arranged inside the outer end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction. Therefore, deterioration in the attractiveness by the cover member 27 protruding further outward than the top plates 2A and 2B can be prevented. Additionally, even when the end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction are arranged in proximity to top plates of another desk device, a wall, or the like, a problem that the cover member 27 may abut against the other desk device, the wall, or the like and a gap may be formed between the end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B and a mating member can be eliminated.
  • Additionally, in this embodiment, the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25 in the width direction is provided with the concave stepped portion 26 that is recessed inward in the width direction, and the attachment seat 12 is provided inside the concave stepped portion 26. Therefore, a problem that the leg fixing flange 51 or the bolts 60 of the bracket 45 may protrude further outward in the width direction than the top plates 2A and 2B or the cover member 27 may protrude further outward in the width direction than the top plates 2A and 2B can be eliminated, without extremely increasing step differences between the outer end surfaces of the top plates 2A and 2B in the width direction and the outer surface of the crosspiece portion 25. Accordingly, the quality of the external appearance of the desk device 1 is more advantageously enhanced.
  • Moreover, in the desk device 1, the upper surface of the optional fixing flange 52 is formed so as to incline upward by a minute angle α toward the outside in the width direction in a state where the bracket 45 is attached to the crosspiece portion 25. Therefore, when a large load of an optional member, such as the cabinet 47, is added to the bracket 45, the optional member can be prevented from inclining downward toward the outside in the width direction.
  • In the above embodiment, the leg fixing flange 51 of the bracket 45 fits into the concave stepped portion 26 of the crosspiece portion 25, and the bracket 45 is supported by the crosspiece portion 25 only within the concave stepped portion 26. However, as in an embodiment shown in FIG. 14, a lower end of the bracket 45 may be provided with an L-shaped bent portion 62 that abuts against the opening edge on the lower side of the concave stepped portion 26. In this case, it is possible to make the bent portion 62 abut against the opening edge on the lower side of the concave stepped portion 26 to firmly and stably support the load of an optional member that acts on the bracket 45, using the crosspiece portion 25.
  • Additionally, although a case where the cabinet 47 is attached to the leg body 20 by the bracket 45 has been described, it is also possible to attach the extension top plate 57 to the leg body 20, using the same bracket 45 similarly, as shown in FIG. 15.
  • In addition, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and various design changes can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. For example, in the above embodiment, the intermediate leg is arranged between the pair of leg bodies and the respective angular tube members of the outer coupling rods or the inner coupling rods are coupled together by the relay unit provided at the intermediate leg. However, the intermediate leg is not necessarily required, and the outer coupling rods or the inner coupling rods may be made integrally continuous with each other. Additionally, for example, in the above embodiment, the intermediate leg is arranged between the pair of leg bodies and the respective angular tube members of the outer coupling rods or the inner coupling rods are coupled together by the relay unit provided at the intermediate leg. However, the intermediate leg is not necessarily required, and the outer coupling rods or the inner coupling rods may be made integrally continuous with each other.
  • INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
  • According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a desk device that can add an optional member to the outer surface of the leg body if necessary, without causing deterioration in the quality of external appearance, and that can stably and firmly attach the optional member to the leg body even if the optional member to be added to the outer end surface of the top plate is a heavy load.

Claims (12)

1. A desk device comprising:
a pair of leg bodies, each leg body being formed by coupling two main leg body portions, which are installed on a floor surface and extend in an up-down direction, to each other by means of a crosspiece portion at upper portions of the main leg body portions;
a plurality of coupling rods that extend along a width direction orthogonal to a depth direction, which is a direction in which the crosspiece portion extends, and that couples upper portions of the pair of leg bodies together; and
a top plate that is supported by upper portions of the pair of leg bodies and the plurality of coupling rods,
wherein a concave stepped portion, which is recessed toward the inside of the crosspiece portion in the width direction, is formed over the entire length of the crosspiece portion, on an outer surface, in the width direction, of the crosspiece portion of at least one of the leg bodies, and
wherein the concave stepped portion is provided with an attachment seat which an optional member is connected to, and a cover member, which blocks the concave stepped portion, is detachably attached to the concave stepped portion.
2. The desk device according to claim 1,
wherein the cover member is formed in a shape substantially complementary to the concave stepped portion.
3. The desk device according to claim 1
wherein an outer exposed surface of the cover member forms a flat surface substantially flush with an outer surface of the crosspiece portion in the width direction in a state where the cover member is attached to the concave stepped portion.
4. The desk device according to claim 1
wherein the concave stepped portion is formed at a position separated upward from a lower end of the crosspiece portion.
5. The desk device according to claim 1
wherein the main leg body portion and the crosspiece portion are formed of a metallic material, and
wherein the crosspiece portion having the concave stepped portion is butted against upper side surface of the main leg body portion and is welded to the main leg body portion within the concave stepped portion.
6. The desk device according to claim 1,
wherein a bracket for butting and attaching an optional member against and to an outer end surface of the top plate in the width direction orthogonal to the depth direction that is a direction in which the crosspiece portion extends is detachably attached to the crosspiece portion, and the optional member has an article placement surface formed continuously with an upper surface of the top plate, and
wherein the bracket has an optional fixing wall that abuts against a lower surface of the optional member and supports and fixes the optional member, and a leg fixing wall that is attached to the outer surface of the crosspiece portion in the width direction.
7. The desk device according to claim 6,
wherein an outer surface of the leg body in the width direction is arranged inside the outer end surface of the top plate in the width direction.
8. The desk device according to claim 7, further comprising:
a cover member that covers the attachment seat of the bracket on the crosspiece portion when the bracket is not attached to the crosspiece portion,
wherein an outer surface of the cover member is arranged flush with the outer surface of the top plate in the width direction or inside the outer surface in a state where the cover member covers the attachment seat.
9. The desk device according to claim 7
wherein the outer surface of the crosspiece portion in the width direction is provided with a concave stepped portion, which is recessed toward the inside of the crosspiece portion in the width direction, and the attachment seat of the bracket is provided within the concave stepped portion.
10. The desk device according to claim 6
wherein the bracket is formed such that an upper surface of the optional fixing wall inclines upward toward the outside in the width direction, in a state where the bracket is attached to the crosspiece portion.
11. The desk device according to claim 2
wherein an outer exposed surface of the cover member forms a flat surface substantially flush with an outer surface of the crosspiece portion in the width direction in a state where the cover member is attached to the concave stepped portion.
12. The desk device according to claim 1
wherein the concave stepped portion is formed at a position separated upward from a lower end of the crosspiece portion.
