Abstract
A survival staff kit including: a knife, where the knife includes a handle, a guard and serrated blade; a first chamber, where the first chamber includes a spyglass and a first compartment; a second chamber, where the second chamber includes compartments for water, fire starter tools, hooks, fishing cord and a flash light; and an end cap, where the knife, first chamber, second chamber and end cap assembly to create a staff. The top of the handle may include a compass. In the preferred embodiment, the knife is inserted into the first chamber and the handle functions as a handle for the knife and is a handle grip for the survival kit once in an assembled position.
Description
- This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 61/869,203 filed on Aug. 23, 2013.
- 1. Field of Invention
- The present invention relates to a staff designed to provide essential components for survival purposes.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- The need for a survival or emergency kit while hiking, camping or enjoying the outdoors is important. Many times individuals may be enjoying the outdoors through various activities and find themselves lost or stranded in the woods. At such time it is important to have certain tools and accessories to survive for a period of time until help arrives. Further it is important to have these essential items readily available in a light package or unit that is easily transported while hiking or camping in the woods. Although individuals take many precautions when hiking or camping many times individuals either become lost or abandoned in the woods during a camping trip.
- The present invention relates to a survival staff kit comprising: a knife, where the knife includes a handle, a guard and serrated blade; a first chamber, where the first chamber includes a spyglass and a first compartment; a second chamber, where the second chamber includes compartments for water, fire starter tools, hooks, fishing cord and a flash light; and an end cap, where the knife, first chamber, second chamber and end cap assembly to create a staff. The top of the handle may include a compass. In the preferred embodiment, the knife is inserted into the first chamber and the handle functions as a handle for the knife and is a handle grip for the survival kit once in an assembled position.

FIG. 1 depicts an exploded view of a survival staff in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 2 depicts the survival staff in accordance with the present invention in a compact portable assembly. - The present invention relates to a survival staff that is utilized to assist an individual who may be stranded or otherwise lost in the woods as a mechanism to provide survival supplies and tools. In reference to
FIG. 1 an exploded view of asurvival kit 100 is depicted. Thesurvival kit 100 includes several components that are provided in a staff configuration.FIG. 1 provides an exploded or expanded view of the components that make up the aspects of thesurvival kit 100. - A
knife 40 is included with thesurvival kit 100. Theknife 40 includes ahandle 43, aserrated blade 41 and aguard 44. Acompass 45 is provided at the top of thehandle 43. Theknife 40 is inserted into afirst chamber 30. Thehandle 43 of theknife 40 functions as a handle for theknife 40 and is a handle grip for the survival kit once in assembled position. Thefirst chamber 30 includes atop end 33 and abottom end 34. Within thischamber 30 is aspyglass 35 and acontainer 20 where thecontainer 20 may include a string or cord for tying purposes.Adjustment holes 32 are provided to adjust the length and fit of thesurvival kit 100 once in an assembled position. - A
second chamber 25 is provided below thefirst chamber 30. Thesecond chamber 25 also includesholes 27 for adjusting the positioning of the chambers once they are assembled together. Thesecond chamber 25 includes a small container ofwater 15, acompartment 22 for fire starting materials, a container 24 for hooks and strings for fishing purposes and acontainer 28 which encloses a small flashlight. Anend cap 50 is provided to enclose the shaft once the components are assembled in a complete condition. Aneyebolt 52 is provided at the distal end of theshaft end 50. -
FIG. 2 provides a view of the survival kit orsurvival staff 100 in an assembled condition. As shown theknife 40 inserts into thefirst chamber 30 where theblade 41 extends into thechamber 30. Thespyglass 35 is also in thefirst chamber 30, which adjoins to thesecond chamber 25. Thesecond chamber 25 has theshaft end 50 attached thereto to complete the assembly of thesurvival staff 100. Thesurvival staff 100 may be easily transported and utilized to assist in hiking purposes while venturing into the woods. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
Claims (7)
1. A survival staff kit comprising:
a. a knife, where the knife includes a handle, a guard and serrated blade;
b. a first chamber, where the first chamber includes a spyglass and a first compartment;
c. a second chamber, where the second chamber includes compartments for water, fire starter tools, hooks, fishing cord and a flash light; and
d. an end cap, where the knife, first chamber, second chamber and end cap assembly to create a staff
2. The survival staff kit according to claim 1 , wherein the top of the handle includes a compass.
3. The survival staff kit according to claim 1 where the knife is inserted into the first chamber and said handle functions as a handle for the knife and is a handle grip for the survival kit once in an assembled position.
4. The survival staff kit according to claim 1 , where the first chamber includes a top end and a bottom end and a container within the first chamber.
5. The survival staff kit according to claim 4 , where the container may include at least one of a string and a cord for tying purposes.
6. The survival staff kit according to claim 1 further including adjustment holes, wherein the adjustment holes enable length adjustment and fit of the survival staff kit.
7. The survival staff kit according to claim 1 , where the endcap includes an eyebolt.
