Abstract

The top of the handle may include a compass. In the preferred embodiment, the knife is inserted into the first chamber and the handle functions as a handle for the knife and is a handle grip for the survival kit once in an assembled position.

  • This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 61/869,203 filed on Aug. 23, 2013.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of Invention
  • The present invention relates to a staff designed to provide essential components for survival purposes.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • The need for a survival or emergency kit while hiking, camping or enjoying the outdoors is important. Many times individuals may be enjoying the outdoors through various activities and find themselves lost or stranded in the woods. At such time it is important to have certain tools and accessories to survive for a period of time until help arrives. Further it is important to have these essential items readily available in a light package or unit that is easily transported while hiking or camping in the woods. Although individuals take many precautions when hiking or camping many times individuals either become lost or abandoned in the woods during a camping trip.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a survival staff kit comprising: a knife, where the knife includes a handle, a guard and serrated blade; a first chamber, where the first chamber includes a spyglass and a first compartment; a second chamber, where the second chamber includes compartments for water, fire starter tools, hooks, fishing cord and a flash light; and an end cap, where the knife, first chamber, second chamber and end cap assembly to create a staff. The top of the handle may include a compass. In the preferred embodiment, the knife is inserted into the first chamber and the handle functions as a handle for the knife and is a handle grip for the survival kit once in an assembled position.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 depicts an exploded view of a survival staff in accordance with the present invention.
  • FIG. 2 depicts the survival staff in accordance with the present invention in a compact portable assembly.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The present invention relates to a survival staff that is utilized to assist an individual who may be stranded or otherwise lost in the woods as a mechanism to provide survival supplies and tools. In reference to FIG. 1 an exploded view of a survival kit 100 is depicted. The survival kit 100 includes several components that are provided in a staff configuration. FIG. 1 provides an exploded or expanded view of the components that make up the aspects of the survival kit 100.
  • A knife 40 is included with the survival kit 100. The knife 40 includes a handle 43, a serrated blade 41 and a guard 44. A compass 45 is provided at the top of the handle 43. The knife 40 is inserted into a first chamber 30. The handle 43 of the knife 40 functions as a handle for the knife 40 and is a handle grip for the survival kit once in assembled position. The first chamber 30 includes a top end 33 and a bottom end 34. Within this chamber 30 is a spyglass 35 and a container 20 where the container 20 may include a string or cord for tying purposes. Adjustment holes 32 are provided to adjust the length and fit of the survival kit 100 once in an assembled position.
  • A second chamber 25 is provided below the first chamber 30. The second chamber 25 also includes holes 27 for adjusting the positioning of the chambers once they are assembled together. The second chamber 25 includes a small container of water 15, a compartment 22 for fire starting materials, a container 24 for hooks and strings for fishing purposes and a container 28 which encloses a small flashlight. An end cap 50 is provided to enclose the shaft once the components are assembled in a complete condition. An eyebolt 52 is provided at the distal end of the shaft end 50.
  • FIG. 2 provides a view of the survival kit or survival staff 100 in an assembled condition. As shown the knife 40 inserts into the first chamber 30 where the blade 41 extends into the chamber 30. The spyglass 35 is also in the first chamber 30, which adjoins to the second chamber 25. The second chamber 25 has the shaft end 50 attached thereto to complete the assembly of the survival staff 100. The survival staff 100 may be easily transported and utilized to assist in hiking purposes while venturing into the woods. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.

Claims (7)

What is claimed is:
1. A survival staff kit comprising:
a. a knife, where the knife includes a handle, a guard and serrated blade;
b. a first chamber, where the first chamber includes a spyglass and a first compartment;
c. a second chamber, where the second chamber includes compartments for water, fire starter tools, hooks, fishing cord and a flash light; and
d. an end cap, where the knife, first chamber, second chamber and end cap assembly to create a staff
2. The survival staff kit according to claim 1, wherein the top of the handle includes a compass.
3. The survival staff kit according to claim 1 where the knife is inserted into the first chamber and said handle functions as a handle for the knife and is a handle grip for the survival kit once in an assembled position.
4. The survival staff kit according to claim 1, where the first chamber includes a top end and a bottom end and a container within the first chamber.
5. The survival staff kit according to claim 4, where the container may include at least one of a string and a cord for tying purposes.
6. The survival staff kit according to claim 1 further including adjustment holes, wherein the adjustment holes enable length adjustment and fit of the survival staff kit.
7. The survival staff kit according to claim 1, where the endcap includes an eyebolt.
