Abstract

This invention relates to a portable container for tissues and comprises the following:
    • (1) a portable disposable container for holding tissues having at least two compartments;
    • (2) a multiplicity of paper tissues positioned in a first compartment of the container and folded to be easily removable;
    • (3) a second compartment positioned adjacent to the first compartment of the disposable container and separated from the first compartment and
    • (4) positioned in the second compartment a multiplicity of bags that are easily removable and sealable for disposal of used tissues;
    • whereby when a tissue is removed and used, a bag is removed from the second compartment and the tissue is placed therein and the bag is sealed and disposed of in a sanitary manner.
Other aspects of the invention comprise an antiseptic barrier between the first and second compartments to prevent contamination of the tissues. The bag for disposing of used tissues is of a thin plastic having a seal that is easily opened and closed and the seal can be an adhesive or a mechanical seal or a folded flap that forms a seal. Also, the tissue can be in contact with the bag so that the tissue and the bag are removed simultaneously from the container and after the tissue is used, it can be placed immediately into the bag.

Description

    FIELD OF INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a tissue container and dispenser.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Tissues, typically positioned in a tissue dispenser, usually a cardboard box are widely used for a number of purposes mostly for blowing ones nose due to cold, flue or allergies. Tissues have replaced handkerchiefs and are considered very sanitary but the problem is in the disposal of the tissues after use. Typically, after use, the tissue is placed in a trash container but often trash containers are not readily available and the used tissue is simply placed on a nearby location, dropped, placed in the users pocket or in some other place each of which result in unsanitary conditions and causes the spread of germs that can cause infections in others. There is a need to be able, in a sanitary and convenient manner, to dispose of used tissues.
  • This invention provides for such a means for disposing of used tissues in a convenient and sanitary manner by providing for a disposal means directly associated with the tissue.
  • SUMMARY OF INVENTION
  • This invention relates to a portable container for tissues and comprises the following:
      • (1) a portable disposable container for holding tissues having at least two compartments;
      • (2) a multiplicity of paper tissues positioned in a first compartment of the container and folded to be easily removable;
      • (3) a second compartment positioned adjacent to the first compartment of the disposable container and separated from the first compartment and
      • (4) positioned in the second compartment a multiplicity of bags that are easily removable and sealable for disposal of used tissues;
      • whereby when a tissue is removed and used, a bag is removed from the second compartment and the tissue is placed therein and the bag is sealed and disposed of in a sanitary manner.
  • Other aspects of the invention comprise an antiseptic barrier between the first and second compartments to prevent contamination of the tissues.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 shows a cross sectional view of the invention of a portable container having two compartments, one for holding tissues and a second for holding bags for disposing of tissues.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The portable disposable container for tissues and sanitary means for disposing of used tissues typically comprises at least two separate compartments that are positioned adjacent to each other. The container can be made of cardboard that is easily disposed of but can be of other materials, such as, plastic of various types, like polyethylene, polypropylene, copolymers and blends thereof; thermoplastics, glass or wood can be used for reusable containers. The size of the container can be varied to make it easy to use in the home, car or in a handbag. It may be desirable to vary the colors of the container and designs, FIGURES and pictures can be placed on the container, particularly to make the container attractive to young children.
  • The container has at least two compartments adjacent to each other. The first for tissues that are folded in such a manner as to be readily removable. The second compartment that is separated from the first compartment, preferably with an antiseptic divider to prevent germs from used tissues coming in contact with the clean unused tissues of the first compartment. The second compartment also contains bags that are easily removable for holding used tissues.
  • Typically, when all of the tissues have been used, the entire container is placed in the trash. However, the container can be reused if made of a durable material by filling the first compartment with clean tissues and adding bags to the second compartment.
  • FIG. 1 illustrates the invention. Tissue box 1 contains tissues 2 in the first compartment 3 of the box 1 and bags 4 are in the second compartment 5 of the box 1.
  • A variety of designs for the portable container can be used. The first and second compartments of the container can be placed side by side or the first and second compartments can be stacked on top of each other. The first and second compartments can be positioned vertically in a side by side position. Other combinations can also be used to obtain similar results.
  • Tissues used are those that are in conventional use and are of a very thin absorbent paper product. The tissues must be folded and stacked in such a manner that they can be easily removed and start the next tissue after the first has been removed.
  • The bags for the disposal of used tissues can be made of a variety of sheet materials, typically plastics, such as, polyethylene, polypropylene or copolymers thereof or a coated paper sheet material can be used. These also must be stacked in such a manner that allows easy removal and the next bag must be positioned to allow for its removal. These bags require a seal to contain the used tissue and prevent the spread of germs. A self sealing mechanical pressure seal can be used, a re-sealable adhesive, or a foldable flap seal such as used for sandwich bags also can be used.
  • Another aspect of the invention is to have the tissue directly attached to the disposable bag. The attachment of the tissue to the bag preferably is a very weak seal so the tissue can be readily separated from the bag. After use, the tissue is place in the bag and the bag and tissue can be discarded in some other manner to avoid the spread of germs.
  • Another aspect of the invention is to use tissues and bags of contrasting colors making it very easy to recognize the tissue when used and when placed in a bag for disposal.
