Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention generally relates to a container system, more specifically to a modular cosmetic container system that utilizes a detachable tray system for interchanging sets of cosmetic products. The present invention accomplishes this through the use of magnetically retained components that enable facilitated storage and removal of the detachable trays.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • It is well known to those familiar in the art, that cosmetic products are provided in a plurality of storage containers. Generally, cosmetic products, such as foundation, concealer, mascara, eyeliner, and various other products are provided to consumers in pre-packaged containers. These pre-packaged containers are provided by manufactures as a means of transporting and distributing their cosmetic products to retail and consumer markets. Typically these pre-packaged containers function as a re-sealable housing that allows the consumer to safely store the cosmetic product after use. While these re-sealable containers provide consumers with a standalone option to store individual cosmetics, most consumers normally require the use of several functionally different cosmetic products on a daily basis. This situation is further exacerbated by the variability between the size and shape of pre-packaged containers from different manufactures. This variability in size and shape complicates the storage and organization of large collections of cosmetic products, making it difficult for the consumer to transport, use, and store specific sets as well as large collections of cosmetic products. As a result of this current situation, a plurality of storage solutions have been created in an attempt to alleviate this situation.
  • One storage solution currently available provides the consumer with a non specific containers system that is able to accommodate the various dimensions of cosmetic products. The container system utilizes a plurality of non-specific shelves as well as non-specific compartments in order to accommodate various cosmetic products from different manufactures. These containers systems provide the consumer with the ability to store large collections of cosmetic products regardless of their size or shape of their container. While the abovementioned container system provides a versatile storage solution, it lacks the ability conveniently organize small sets of cosmetic products from large collections. This drawback is due to the lack of specificity that is inherent to most versatile design.
  • Another storage solution currently available provides the consumer with a cosmetic storage system that utilizes standardized pre-packaged containers for distributing cosmetic products. These standardized containers are incorporated into a separate housing that conveniently organizes the standardized pre-packaged containers according to the consumer's preference. The standardized pre-packaged containers are organized into convenient sets that can be customized or reorganized as needed through the use of a detachably engagement between the housing and the standardized pre-packaged containers. These convenient sets allow for facilitated storage and transport of large collections of standardized pre-packaged cosmetic products. While the aforementioned cosmetic storage system is able to improve some organization and storage limitations experienced by consumers, the aforementioned cosmetic system is largely dependent on standardized pre-packaged containers. This reliance on a standard size and shape limits the consumer's options in cosmetic products, requiring them to purchase cosmetics designed specifically for use with the prepackaged system.
  • It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a modular cosmetic container system that allows a consumer to organize, create, and substitute customizable cosmetic trays detachably retained within a cosmetic storage system. The present invention utilizes customizable tray assemblies as a means to store particular combinations of cosmetic products. Each cosmetic product is stored within specially designed receptacles in order to create a unique set of cosmetic products. These unique sets can be placed within the cosmetic storage system allowing for facilitated transfer and improved customization for user's who may need to frequently carry large collections of cosmetic products. The tray assemblies comprise variably sized receptacles that allow the attachment of a plurality of pre-packaged containers. The variably sized receptacles are configured to retain cosmetic products as well as cosmetic accessories. A housing system is provided for the tray assembly that allows the storage organization of large collections of tray assemblies. The housing system accommodates the tray assemblies through specific mounts that enable further customization and storage of cosmetic sets regardless. Due to the tray assemblies' ability to retain various types of cosmetic products, the housing system is able to store and organized a plurality of cosmetic sets regardless of their size or original manufacturer. Through the versatility of the tray assemblies and the specificity of the housing system, the present invention is able to provide consumers with an improved means of storing and organizing existing cosmetic products.
