Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to fitness equipment and more specifically, to a fitness device, which is selectively mountable on the floor in two reversed directions for different exercise applications.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Yoga equipment, fitness machines and body sculpting machines are commercially available for different types of fitness exercises. However, these exercising apparatuses commonly have a complicated structure consisting of a large amount of component parts and requiring much storage space. Thus, these conventional exercising apparatuses are not convenient for delivery or storage.
- Therefore, it is desirable to provide a fitness equipment that has the advantages of simple structure and ease of use and, that is suitable for different types of fitness exercises.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a fitness device that is selectively mountable on the floor in two reversed directions for different types of exercises and has the advantages of simple structure and ease of use.
- To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a fitness device comprises a chair body and a plurality of support frame bars mounted at the bottom side of the chair body in a parallel manner. Each support frame bar comprises a first base frame bar portion and a second base frame bar portion longitudinally connected in a line and defining therebetween a contained angle facing toward said chair body and smaller than 180 degrees.
- Further, two handheld portions are provided at the periphery of the chair body and bilaterally disposed near the front side of the chair body, and a handlebar is fixedly mounted at the back side of the chair body on the middle and protruding over the two opposite lateral sides of the chair body.
- Further, a circuit recess is located in the top wall of the chair body near its front side, and a rotating wheel is rotatably mounted in the circular recess.
- Further, a headrest is provided at the top side of the chair body, and a stop block is provided at one end of each support frame bar.
- Further, a ball bearing ring is provided between the rotating wheel and the circular recess.
-
FIG. 1 is an oblique elevational view of a fitness device in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is an oblique bottom elevational view of the fitness device in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is an exploded view of the fitness device in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 4 is a sectional view taken along line A-A ofFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 5 is a schematic drawing illustrating an application example of the fitness device in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is a schematic drawing illustrating another application example of the fitness device in accordance with the present invention. -
FIG. 7 is a side view of an alternate form of the fitness device in accordance with the present invention. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-4 , a fitness device in accordance with the present invention is shown comprising achair body 11 and a plurality ofsupport frame bars 2. - The chair body 1 comprises a
chair seat 11, achair back 12 obliquely upwardly extended from a rear side of thechair seat 11 defined with the chair seat 11 a predetermined contained angle, twohandheld portions 111 bilaterally located at and formed integral with front bottom sides of thechair seat 11, acircular recess 112 located in the top wall of thechair seat 11, anaxle hole 114 located at the center of thecircular recess 112, an axle bearing 113 mounted in theaxle hole 114, a rotatingwheel 13 horizontally and rotatably mounted in thecircular recess 112 and having awheel axle 131 downwardly extended from the center of the bottom side thereof and rotatably coupled to the axle bearing 113, ahandlebar 14 fixedly and transversely mounted at the back side of the chair back 12 on the middle and respectively protruding over two opposite lateral sides of the chair back 12, atop connection bar 16 located at the top side of thechair back 12, aheadrest 15 adjustably mounted at thetop connection bar 16, and a ball bearingring 17 set between the rotatingwheel 13 and thecircular recess 112. Theball bearing ring 17 comprises anouter race 171 fixedly mounted at the bottom side of the rotatingwheel 13, aninner race 172 fixedly mounted in thecircular recess 112, and a plurality ofballs 173 rotatably supported between theouter race 171 and theinner race 172. During rotation of the rotatingwheel 13, theballs 173 keep therotating wheel 13 in balance. - The
support frame bars 2 are arranged in parallel, each defining a first baseframe bar portion 21, a second baseframe bar portion 22 longitudinally connected to one end of the first baseframe bar portion 21 and defining with the first base frame bar portion 21 a contained angle smaller than 180 degrees, a first connectionframe bar portion 23 extended from the other end of the first baseframe bar portion 21 at a predetermined angle and fixedly connected to the bottom side of thechair seat 11, a second connectionframe bar portion 24 from the other end of the second baseframe bar portion 22 at a predetermined angle and fixedly connected to the bottom side of the chair back 12. - Further, a
transverse reinforcing bar 25 can be connected between each two adjacentsupport frame bars 2 to reinforce the structural strength. Further,anti-slip pads 3 can be provided at the bottom side of the first baseframe bar portion 21 of eachsupport frame bar 2. In this embodiment, the fitness device comprises twosupport frame bars 2. However, this support frame bar arrangement is not a limitation. - Referring to
FIGS. 5 and 6 andFIG. 4 again, the user can place the fitness device on the floor to keep the first baseframe bar portions 21 of thesupport frame bars 2 in direct contact with the floor, and then rest the knees on the rotatingwheel 13 and hold thehandlebar 14 with the hands, and then twist the body to let the knees be turned back and forth with the rotatingwheel 13, achieving the desired effects of exercise (seeFIG. 5 ). Alternatively, the user can place the fitness device on the floor to keep the second baseframe bar portions 22 of thesupport frame bars 2 in direct contact with the floor, and then rest the hips on the rotatingwheel 13, the back on the top side of the chair back 12 and the head on theheadrest 15 and hold thehandheld portions 111 with the hands, and then twist the body to turn the rotatingwheel 13 back and forth and/or to extend and retract the legs, achieving the effects of exercise (seeFIG. 6 ). - Referring to
FIG. 7 , an alternate form of the fitness device is shown. This alternate form is substantially similar to that shown inFIGS. 1-4 with the exception of the arrangement ofadditional stop blocks 4 that are respectively mounted at the second baseframe bar portions 22 of thesupport frame bars 2 remote from the respective first baseframe bar portions 21. The bottom edge of eachstop block 4 is kept in flush with the bottom surface of the second baseframe bar portion 22 of eachsupport frame bar 2. Thus, thestop blocks 4 are workable with the second baseframe bar portions 22 of thesupport frame bars 2 to support the fitness device on a flat surface stably. - Subject to the design that the first base
frame bar portion 21 and second baseframe bar portion 22 of eachsupport frame bar 2 define a predetermined contained angle smaller than 180 degrees, the fitness device can be selectively supported on the floor to keep the first baseframe bar portions 21 or second baseframe bar portions 22 of thesupport frame bars 2 in direct contact with the floor for different types of exercises. The fitness device has the advantages of simple structure and ease of use.
