Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a device used for hair removal and, more particularly, to a device that removes depilatory cream from a face and/or body.
  • Currently, a user that shaves may experience Pseudo Folliculitis Barbae (razor bumps) and ingrown hairs. The razor bumps and ingrown hairs cause irritation and prevent the user from regularly shaving. Some user's use depilatory cream that works by dissolving the hair from the face or body parts, eliminating the need to use razors. However, using any sort of blade to remove the depilatory cream from the face may cause even further irritation. Some users have resorted to using wash clothes, sponges, spatulas, butter knives, Popsicle sticks and other makeshift devices. However, such items tend to be inefficient and ineffective.
  • As can be seen, there is a need for a comfortable and effective depilatory cream remover.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In one aspect of the present invention, a depilatory cream remover comprising: a handgrip; a shaft connected to a top of the handgrip; and a head comprising a front end and a rear end, wherein the head is connected to a top of the shaft, wherein the head is substantially perpendicular to the shaft, and wherein the front end of the head has a substantially straight edge with rounded corners.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, the handgrip is wider than the shaft.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, the front end to the back end of the head has a length from about 30 mm to about 50 mm.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, the thickness of the head is between about 0.1 mm to about 0.5 mm.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, the depilatory cream remover is made of at least one of a polymer and a metal.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, the polymer is Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, the metal is at least one of aluminum alloy and stainless steel.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, a tapered stability member connects the head with the shaft, wherein the stability member tapers from the head down to the shaft.
  • These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the present invention shown in exemplary use;
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the present invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a side view of the present invention;
  • FIG. 4 is a backside view of the present invention; and
  • FIG. 5 is a side detail view of the present invention shown in use.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
  • Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a depilatory cream remover. The depilatory cream remover may include a head, a shaft and a handgrip. The head may be substantially perpendicular relative to the shaft. The head may include a length long enough to accumulate the depilatory cream while the depilatory cream remover is in use. The head may further include rounded corners to prevent irritation.
  • The present invention may include a hand held shaving tool designed for the removal of depilatory cream from the face. The present invention may be used for scraping off applied depilatory cream and depilated hair from the face and other parts of the body with the advantage of a manufactured scraping edge and a large scraping surface that keeps used depilatory cream from falling onto the hands of the user. The hand held shaving tool may include a shaving head that has a dull edge, such as plastic, stainless steel or the like.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 through 5, the present invention may include a depilatory cream remover 10. The depilatory cream remover 10 may include a handgrip 11, a shaft 12, a stability member 13 and a head 14. The handgrip 11 and the shaft 12 may comprise a handle. The handle may be designed to provide control with strength and stability to the scraping head 10 which may comprise a manufactured scraping edge and a large scraping surface that keeps used depilatory cream from falling onto the hands of the user.
  • The present invention may be made of aluminum alloy, stainless steel, or a polymer, such as plastics rubber and the like. For example, the present invention may be made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastic. ABS combines the strength and rigidity of acrylonitrile and styrene polymers with the toughness of the polybutadiene rubber. The present invention may be used repeatedly because the materials and the manufactured thickness of the scraping edge may not degrade rapidly and may last a number of years
  • The handgrip 11 and the shaft 12 may have a length of about 100 mm to about 150 mm, with the handgrip 11 itself being from about 15 mm to about 60 mm in length. The handgrip 11 may have a width that is greater than the shaft 12. In certain embodiments, the handgrip 11 may have a grip of about 10 mm to about 30 mm wide. The handgrip 11 may include a bulbous cylindrical shape with a rounded end. The shape may be designed for easy grip.
  • The shaft 12 extends from the top of the handgrip 11. In certain embodiments, the shaft 12 may be substantially perpendicular relative to the head 14, i.e. may be oriented in about a 90 degree angle relative to the head 14. The angle of the handle may be designed so that when the depilatory cream remover 10 is in use and placed at an appropriate angle on the face or other parts of the body, the user's hands do not come in contact with the cream 20 during the removal process as illustrated in FIG. 1.
  • In certain embodiments, a stability member 13 may be attached to the top of the shaft 12. The stability member 13 may connect the shaft 12 to the head 14. However, the stability member 13 is not necessary and the shaft 12 may connect directly with the head 12. The stability member 13 may be thicker than the shaft 13 to provide stability and strength to the depilatory cream remover 10 while in use. The stability member 13 may have a width of between about 20 mm and about 32 mm with a length of about 7 mm to about 12 mm. The stability member 12 may have a radius of RD 480 on both sides and may taper towards the handle until the stability member 13 is the same width as the shaft 12.
  • At the top of the stability member 13 or shaft 12 may be the head 14. The head 14 may include a scraping blade which may have a manufactured edge of about 0.1 mm to about 0.5 mm in thickness. The head 14 may include a front end 22 and a back end 24. In certain embodiments, the head 14 may taper from the back end 24 to the front end 22. The front end 22 may include rounded corners. The rounded corners may prevent the device from digging into the skin, for example, when the blade is not placed squarely on the face or other parts of the body. The rounded corners may also be used to remove depilatory cream in hard to remove areas such as from a clef chin or from other inclusions on the face. Other than the rounded corners, the front end may be a smooth and have straight edge to ensure consistency and effectiveness of the depilatory cream removal.
  • In certain embodiments, the scraping head 14 may be about 30 mm to about 50 mm from the front end 22 to the back end 24. The head 14 may have a width of about 15 mm to about 26 mm. The dimensions of the head 14 may allow the head 14 to retain the applied depilatory cream and depilated hair during the removal process. Further, due to the retainment of the cream, the size of the head 14 may prevent the cream from falling into the user's hands.
  • A user 16 may use the depilatory cream remover 10 to remove depilatory cream 20 from the user's skin 18. While in use, the depilatory cream 20 and the depilated hair may accumulate on the head 14 of the depilatory cream remover 10 due to the head 14 length. The accumulation of scraped off depilatory cream 20 and depilated hair may be rinsed off after one to three strokes. This process may be repeated until the depilatory cream 20 has been removed from the users face.
  • It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
