Abstract

A driving unit for a caulking gun includes at least two push portions respectively located on two respective rear ends of at least two tubes of a dual-tube unit so as to push material in the at least two tubes toward an outlet on a front end of the dual-tube unit. At least one connection portion is connected between the at least two push portions and a blade is formed on the front end of the at least one connection portion. The blade cuts two adjacent walls of the dual-tube unit so that the at least two push portions are moved forward when the driving unit is pushed forward. The materials in the at least two tubes are mixed and quickly solidified.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Fields of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a driving unit gun, and more particularly, to a driving unit cooperated with conventional caulking gun to drive two different sealing materials in the same time.
  • 2. Descriptions of Related Art
  • The conventional caulking or sealing material such as epoxy resin for sealing cracks in the tiles, walls, tanks, glasses or even concrete buildings cannot solidified or dried completely after the sealing material is filled in the cracks. Some of the un-solidified sealing material flows down from the cracks when used in a vertical object, and this makes the cracks not be completely sealed while the escape sealing material catches dirt and scraps forms an ugly trace on the wall.
  • Some sealant manufacturers add hardening agent in the sealing material such as AB glue or anchorage glue so that the sealing material can solidify quickly to improve the above-mentioned drawbacks.
  • The conventional caulking gun 4 that is able to drive the sealing material and the hardening agent is disclosed in FIG. 4, and comprises a support 41 and a handle 42 which is connected to one end of the support 41. A trigger 43 is pivotably connected to the handle 42 so as to push the first push rod 44 which extends into the support 41. The push rod 44 has a disk which contacts the rear end of the first tube 46 in which the sealing material is received. A second push rod 45 is connected to the rear end of the first push rod 44 and is able to push a second tube 47 in the hardening agent is received. Both of the first and second tubes 46, 47 are connected to the same outlet 48 so that when the user pulls the trigger 43, the first and second push rods 44, 45 are moved to squeeze the sealing material in the first tube 46 and the hardening agent in the second tube 47 respectively. The sealing material and the hardening agent are mixed in a mixing tube 49 which is connected to the outlet 48 by a spiral mixer in the mixing tube 49. By this way, the sealing material can quickly solidify.
  • However, the caulking gun with two push rods are specially designed for using two different materials, in other words, the existed conventional caulking guns with only one push rod cannot achieve the same purpose. The caulking guns as disclosed in FIG. 4 are expensive and have only one function so that purchasing of the special caulking guns becomes a kind of waste.
  • The present invention intends to provide a caulking gun that drives two different sealing materials while the shortcomings mentioned above are improved.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a driving unit for a caulking gun and the driving unit comprises at least two push portions which are respectively located on two respective rear ends of at least two tubes of a dual-tube unit so as to push material in the at least two tubes toward an outlet on the front end of the dual-tube unit. At least one connection portion is connected between the at least two push portions and a blade is formed on the front end of the at least one connection portion. The blade cuts two adjacent walls of the dual-tube unit so that the at least two push portions are moved forward.
  • Preferably, the at least two push portions and the at least one connection portion are integrally formed.
  • Preferably, there are two push portions and the dual-tube unit has two tubes.
  • Preferably, the at least one connection portion is axially connected between the at least two push portions and a space is defined between the at least two push portions and the at least one connection portion. The space accommodates the adjacent walls of the dual-tube unit so as to retain the driving unit in the support of the caulking gun.
  • The primary object of the present invention is to provide a caulking gun which can be used as a single-tube caulking gun and also able to deliver two different materials in a dual-tube unit.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a driving unit that is driven by the less expensive conventional caulking gun and is easily purchased.
  • Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a driving unit which does not need to be cooperated with special-designed caulking gun.
  • The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 shows the driving unit of the present invention and a caulking gun;
  • FIG. 2 is a side cross sectional view to show the driving unit of the present invention in the caulking gun;
  • FIG. 3 is a side cross sectional view to show that the driving unit of the present invention pushes the dual-tube unit in the caulking gun, and
  • FIG. 4 is a side cross sectional view to show the conventional special designed caulking gun.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, a driving unit 1 of the present invention comprises two push portions 111, 112, wherein diameter of the push portion 111 is larger than that of the push portion 112, and the two push portions 111, 112 are respectively located on two respective rear ends of two tubes 22, 23 of a dual-tube unit 2. The two tubes 22, 23 receive the sealing material and hardening agent respectively. The sealing material and hardening agent in the two tubes 22, 23 are pushed toward an outlet 21 on the front end of the dual-tube unit 2. A connection portion 12 is connected between the two push portions 111, 112 and a blade 13 is formed on the front end of the connection portion 12. The blade 13 cuts two adjacent walls 221, 231 of the dual-tube unit 2 so that the two push portions 111, 112 are moved forward.
  • In this embodiment, the two push portions 111, 112 and the connection portion 12 are integrally formed.
  • As shown in FIG. 2, the connection portion 12 is axially connected between the push portions 111, 112 and a space 14 is defined between the two push portions 111, 112 and the connection portion 12. The space 14 accommodates the adjacent walls 221, 231 of the two tubes 22, 23 so as to retain the driving unit 1 in the support of the conventional caulking gun 3.
  • As shown in FIG. 3, the driving unit 1 is used in the conventional caulking gun 3 which has a push rod 31 and a disk is connected to the push rod 31, the disk contact the rear end of the push portion 111. When the push rod 31 moves the push portion 111 forward, the other push portion 112 is also moved due to the connection of the connection portion 12. When the connection portion 12 moves forward, the blade 13 cuts two adjacent walls 221, 231 of the two tubes 22, 23 of the dual-tube unit 2 so that the two push portions 111, 112 are moved forward. The sealing material and the hardening agent in the two tubes 22, 23 are then squeezed out from the outlet 21, and the sealing material can dry quickly.
  • The present invention is able to be cooperated with the conventional caulking gun instead purchasing a special designed caulking gun. The sealing material and the hardening agent in the two tubes 22, 23 of the dual-tube unit 2 are squeezed out from the outlet 21 and mixed, and the sealing material can dry quickly.
  • While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
