Abstract
The present invention discloses a lid mounted on a liquid container. The lid has a human-lip shaped opening allowing for the dispensing of the liquid from the liquid container. The human-lip shaped opening includes an upper border and a lower border. The upper border is at a predetermined angle towards the lower border. The upper border is flat in the middle and curved at the edges. The human-lip shaped opening prevents puckering and provides a better surface for placement and support of human lips while drinking.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention generally relates to a lid for a liquid container, and generally relates to a lid having a human-lip shaped opening for allowing dispensing of liquid from the liquid container.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- Recent studies have shown that drinking from the commercially available water bottle on a daily basis may result in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, or deterioration of skin around the lips and mouth. This is due to the breakdown of collagen and elastin caused by the repetitive puckering of lips while drinking. These fine lines around lips are also known as “water lips” or “smoker lines”. Consumers drink plenty of bottled water in an attempt to stay healthy, vibrant, and young. What many do not realize is the potentially negative effects that the bottled water design can have on the lips and skin around their mouth. Research has indicated that any activity which causes the mouth to pucker can lead to the production of lines and wrinkles around the mouth.
- Various water bottle lids with a round opening are pervasive in the industry. Most of these openings allow for sucking of a liquid from the container. However, most of the dispensing means in such lids cannot prevent puckering of the lips during dispensing of the liquid. Therefore, there is a need for a lid that prevents puckering of lips and reverses the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.
- An object of the present invention is to mount a lid on the neck of a liquid container which provides a human-lip shaped opening that prevents puckering and provides a better surface for placement and support of human lips while drinking.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide an air opening for the release of air while drinking so as to maintain a smooth and constant flow of liquid while drinking.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a small lid mounted on the large lid to cover both the human-lip shaped opening and the air opening.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a portable drinking apparatus having a liquid container, a large lid having a human-lip shaped opening for preventing puckering of mouth and an air opening for allowing release of air while drinking for maintaining a smooth and constant flow of liquid.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a portable drinking apparatus having a small lid mounted on a large lid for covering both human-lip shaped opening and the air opening.

FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of a lid in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 illustrates a side view of a lid in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 illustrates a perspective view of a portable drinking apparatus in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 illustrates a side view of the portable drinking apparatus in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention; -
FIG. 5 illustrates a side view of the large lid in accordance with another embodiment of the present invention; and -
FIG. 6 illustrates a side view of the small lid in accordance with another preferred embodiment of the present invention. - While this technology is illustrated and described in a preferred embodiment, the lid for preventing puckering of mouth may be produced in many different configurations, forms and materials. There is depicted in the drawings, and will herein be described in detail, as a preferred embodiment of the invention, with the understanding that the present disclosure is to be considered as an exemplification of the principles of the invention and the associated functional specifications for its construction and is not intended to limit the invention to the embodiment illustrated. Those skilled in the art will envision many other possible variations within the scope of the technology described herein.
- Reference will now be made in detail to several embodiments of the invention which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever feasible and convenient, the same reference numerals are used in the figures and the description to refer to the same or like parts. The drawings are in a simplified form and not to precise scale. For purposes of convenience and clarity only, directional terms, such as top, bottom, left, right, up, down, over, above, below, beneath, rear, and front may be used with respect to the accompanying drawings. These and similar directional terms should not be strictly construed to limit the scope of the invention. In addition, words such as attached, affixed, coupled, connected and similar terms with their inflectional morphemes are used interchangeably, unless the difference is noted or made otherwise clear from the context. These words and expressions do not necessarily signify direct connections, but include connections through mediate components and devices.
