Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of Invention
  • The present invention relates to a dual packet condiment packaging configuration.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • Condiments are usually liquids or add-on accessories that enhance the taste of larger food items. Traditional condiments are usually ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, tartar sauce, barbecue sauce, jellies, jams or honey to name a few. Condiments may come in large bottles or smaller bottles, jars or containers for consumption. Many fast food establishments and restaurants provide individual packaging of condiments that may be easily consumed and transported by the consumer. The advantage of the smaller packaging is that the consumers may use this packaging when transporting their food or purchasing food to go. Many of the packaging provided for condiments is individual packaging of a single condiment such as ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, hone or jelly. These condiments come in foil, tin and plastic containers that allow easy access and application of the condiment onto the food product.
  • Many times individuals use more than one condiment on a particular food product such as ketchup and mustard or mayonnaise and ketchup or in certain instances honey and mustard. It would be advantageous to have a package that may contained two different types of condiments in a single package so that a user may use the condiments in combination.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a condiment package for storing and supplying condiments comprising: a first packet, where the first packet stores a first condiment; a second packet, where the second packet stores a second condiment; a removable foil cover, where the cover seals the first packet and the second packet; and a removable divider, where the divider separates the first packet and the second packet. The removable foil and removable divider may be made of plastic. The first condiment or the second condiment may be selected from the group consisting of honey, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and soy sauce.
  • The present invention also relates to a method of consuming condiments using a dual condiment package comprising the steps of: removing a foil cover from a dual condiment package, where the dual condiment package includes a first packet, a second packet and a removable divider separating the first packet and the second packet; removing the removal divider from the dual condiment package; and mixing a first condiment stored in the first packet with a second condiment stored in the second packet.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 depicts a dual packet condiment package according to the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The present invention relates to a dual packet condiment package that combines two condiments in one package for consumption. The dual packet condiment package according to the present invention enables the consumer to consume two condiments or to have access to two condiments in a single package.
  • In reference to FIG. 1, a dual packet condiment package 100 according to the present invention is depicted. The dual packet condiment package 100 includes a first packet 20 and a second packet 22 for the containment of a particular condiment of choice. In one particular embodiment, honey may be provided in one packet and ketchup may be provided in the adjoining packet. A plastic foil 24 seals the condiment package 100 so that a consumer may simply peel back the foil to access the condiments within the first packet 20 and/or second packet 22. The dual packet condiment package 100 further includes a plastic foil divider 26, which separates the first packet 20 from the second packet 22. Removal of the divider 26 allows the consumer to premix the condiments in each separate packet. This dual packet condiment package 100 therefore provides the consumer with the option to mix the condiments prior to consumption. Further the consumer may simply remove the foil 24 and gain access to each individual condiment as desired.
  • The package 100 according to the present invention provides dual packets of condiments that may be combined or used individually. Various condiments may be placed in either the first packet 20 or the second packet 22, such as honey, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise or soy sauce. In the preferred embodiment, a distinct condiment is placed in each packet. The package 100 is convenient, portable and suitable for food on the go. The package 100 includes a cubicle shape as defined by side 25 so that the package may be placed in a stationary position during consumption of the condiments. The condiments may be applied to meats, vegetables or other food products as desired by the consumer. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
