Description
- The present invention relates to a cabinet, and more particularly, to an expandable and collapsible cabinet.
- Conventional cabinet is assembled by glue or screws. However, after the cabinet is assembled by the glue, it can not be disassembled, so a size of the conventional cabinet is fixed without being stored in a small size.
- Likewise, if the conventional cabinet is assembled by the screws, it can not be assembled and disassembled quickly.
- The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages.
- The primary object of the present invention is to provide an expandable and collapsible cabinet which is stored and portable easily.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide an expandable and collapsible cabinet which is assembled and disassembled quickly.
- To obtain the above objectives, an expandable and collapsible cabinet contains:
- a body being an elongated plate and including plural board portions and a plurality of bending portions;
- each bending portion integrally connecting with and between two abutting board portions, and between the each bending portion and each board portion is defined a first grooved area to provide a collapsible space;
- a bottom cover;
- a top cover;
- when the body is folded into a rectangular frame by folding four first grooved areas 90 degrees, the bottom cover and the top cover are covered on a bottom end and a top end of the body.
- The foregoing, as well as additional objects, features and advantages of the invention will be more readily apparent from the following detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing the operation of the body of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing the operation of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing the assembly of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing the application of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 7 is a perspective view showing the operation of a bottom cover and a top cover of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 8 is a perspective view showing the assembly of a body of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 9 is a perspective view showing the operation of the body of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the another preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 10 is also perspective view showing the operation of the body of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the another preferred embodiment of the present invention. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-7 , an expandable andcollapsible cabinet 100 according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises abody 10, abottom cover 20, and atop cover 30. - As shown in
FIGS. 1-3 , thebody 10 is integrally made of wood or cardboard and is an elongated plate on which a plurality of grooved areas are formed, wherein the plurality of grooved areas are equally spaced apart from and parallel to each other. - The
body 10 includesplural board portions 11, a plurality of bendingportions 12, and a coveringportion 13. In this embodiment, there are sixboard portions 11 provided, and eachboard portion 11 has a predetermined thickness and width, six widths of the sixboard portions 11 are increased gradually from a left side to a right side of thebody 10 as illustrated inFIG. 2 . Eachbending portion 12 integrally connects with and between two abuttingboard portions 11. In this embodiment, there are fivebending portions 12 are provided, and eachbending portion 12 has a predetermined thickness and width, five widths of the fivebending portions 12 are increased gradually from the left side to the right side of thebody 10 as illustrated inFIG. 2 , and between the eachbending portion 12 and the eachboard portion 11 is defined a firstgrooved area 121 to provide a collapsible space. The coveringportion 13 is integrally connected on a free side of oneoutermost board portion 11, and between thecovering portion 13 and the oneoutermost board portion 11 is defined a secondgrooved area 131. - As shown in
FIGS. 1 and 4 , thebottom cover 20 is integrally made of wood or cardboard. - The
bottom cover 20 has a first C-shaped slot 21 formed on a top surface thereof and afirst opening 22 defined on one side of the top surface thereof and communicating with the first C-shaped slot 21. - As shown in
FIGS. 1 and 4 , thetop cover 30 is integrally made of wood or cardboard. - The
top cover 30 has a second C-shaped slot 31 formed on a bottom surface thereof and asecond opening 32 defined on one side of the bottom surface thereof and communicating with the second C-shaped slot 31. - In assembly, the
body 10 is folded as illustrated inFIG. 4 , and then four firstgrooved areas 121 are folded 90 degrees so that thebody 10 is folded into a rectangular frame, thereafter a bottom end of thebody 10 is inserted into the first C-shaped slot 21 of thebottom cover 20, and a top end of thebody 10 is inserted into the second C-shaped slot 31 of thetop cover 30 as shown inFIGS. 4 and 5 , such that thebottom cover 20 and thetop cover 30 are covered on the bottom end and the top end of thebody 10, and twooutermost board portions 11 of thebody 10 allow being opened or closed between the first opening 22 and thesecond opening 32 as illustrated inFIG. 6 , thus the expandable andcollapsible cabinet 100 allows receiving objects. - Yet as desiring to collapse the expandable and
collapsible cabinet 100, thebottom cover 20 and thetop cover 30 are removed from thebody 10, and then thebody 10 is unfolded from the rectangular frame, thereafter each firstgrooved areas 121 of thebody 10 is folded so that thebody 10 is collapsed in a small size as shown inFIG. 1 , hence the cabinet is assembled, stored, and portable easily. - In addition, the covering
portion 12 is provided to be held by a user like a door grip. - Referring to
FIG. 7 , thebottom cover 20 and thetop cover 30 are capable of being folded as well to decrease a stored size. - Likewise, there are four
board portions 11 and three bendingportions 12 provided in another preferred embodiment to obtain thebody 10 as shown inFIGS. 1-10 , thus expanding and collapsing thecabinet 100. - While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiments of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.
