  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing the operation of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective view showing the assembly of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing the application of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 7 is a perspective view showing the operation of a bottom cover and a top cover of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 8 is a perspective view showing the assembly of a body of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 9 is a perspective view showing the operation of the body of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the another preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • FIG. 10 is also perspective view showing the operation of the body of the expandable and collapsible cabinet according to the another preferred embodiment of the present invention.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Referring to FIGS. 1-7, an expandable and collapsible cabinet 100 according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a body 10, a bottom cover 20, and a top cover 30.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1-3, the body 10 is integrally made of wood or cardboard and is an elongated plate on which a plurality of grooved areas are formed, wherein the plurality of grooved areas are equally spaced apart from and parallel to each other.
  • The body 10 includes plural board portions 11, a plurality of bending portions 12, and a covering portion 13. In this embodiment, there are six board portions 11 provided, and each board portion 11 has a predetermined thickness and width, six widths of the six board portions 11 are increased gradually from a left side to a right side of the body 10 as illustrated in FIG. 2. Each bending portion 12 integrally connects with and between two abutting board portions 11. In this embodiment, there are five bending portions 12 are provided, and each bending portion 12 has a predetermined thickness and width, five widths of the five bending portions 12 are increased gradually from the left side to the right side of the body 10 as illustrated in FIG. 2, and between the each bending portion 12 and the each board portion 11 is defined a first grooved area 121 to provide a collapsible space. The covering portion 13 is integrally connected on a free side of one outermost board portion 11, and between the covering portion 13 and the one outermost board portion 11 is defined a second grooved area 131.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1 and 4, the bottom cover 20 is integrally made of wood or cardboard.
  • The bottom cover 20 has a first C-shaped slot 21 formed on a top surface thereof and a first opening 22 defined on one side of the top surface thereof and communicating with the first C-shaped slot 21.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1 and 4, the top cover 30 is integrally made of wood or cardboard.
  • The top cover 30 has a second C-shaped slot 31 formed on a bottom surface thereof and a second opening 32 defined on one side of the bottom surface thereof and communicating with the second C-shaped slot 31.
  • In assembly, the body 10 is folded as illustrated in FIG. 4, and then four first grooved areas 121 are folded 90 degrees so that the body 10 is folded into a rectangular frame, thereafter a bottom end of the body 10 is inserted into the first C-shaped slot 21 of the bottom cover 20, and a top end of the body 10 is inserted into the second C-shaped slot 31 of the top cover 30 as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, such that the bottom cover 20 and the top cover 30 are covered on the bottom end and the top end of the body 10, and two outermost board portions 11 of the body 10 allow being opened or closed between the first opening 22 and the second opening 32 as illustrated in FIG. 6, thus the expandable and collapsible cabinet 100 allows receiving objects.
  • Yet as desiring to collapse the expandable and collapsible cabinet 100, the bottom cover 20 and the top cover 30 are removed from the body 10, and then the body 10 is unfolded from the rectangular frame, thereafter each first grooved areas 121 of the body 10 is folded so that the body 10 is collapsed in a small size as shown in FIG. 1, hence the cabinet is assembled, stored, and portable easily.
  • In addition, the covering portion 12 is provided to be held by a user like a door grip.
  • Referring to FIG. 7, the bottom cover 20 and the top cover 30 are capable of being folded as well to decrease a stored size.
  • Likewise, there are four board portions 11 and three bending portions 12 provided in another preferred embodiment to obtain the body 10 as shown in FIGS. 1-10, thus expanding and collapsing the cabinet 100.
  • While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiments of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.
