- Hand tools are ordinary and widely used in houses and factories. People often assemble and fix things by using the hand tool with various tool bits. Therefore, a tool box can make a user more convenient to carry the hand tool and the various tool bits.
- A conventional tool box comprises a box. The box has a top cover and a bottom cover which are pivoted on each other. A clamping plate is fixed on a bottom of the bottom cover. Two receiving spaces are respectively defined in the top cover and the bottom cover so as to receive the hand tool and the various tool bits. Under this arrangement, the user can not only carry the hand tool and the various tool bits by the conventional tool box, but also hang the conventional tool box on his (or her) belt. However, the conventional tool box still has one disadvantage as following:
- When the conventional tool box is hanged on the belt of the user, the conventional tool box can only be positioned at one direction (such as a vertical direction) so that it is not convenient for the user to carry. For example, when the user is sitting in a vehicle, the conventional tool box which is vertically hanged on the belt might cause the user to sit uncomfortably, and it is difficult for the user to take the tool bits out form the conventional tool box which is vertically hanged on the belt when the user is sitting.
- The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the disadvantages of the conventional. Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
- The main objective of the present invention is to provide an improved tool box.
- To achieve the objective, a tool box comprises a box body having a pivoting hole opened thereon, a plurality of positioning protrusions protruded around the pivoting hole on the box body, a clamping plate having a pivoting shaft defined at one end thereof, the pivoting shaft of the clamping plate inserted into the pivoting hole of the box body, the pivoting shaft having a positioning hook at a top end thereof, the positioning hook of the clamping plate used to hook at the periphery of the pivoting hole of the box body, a plurality of positioning notches opened around the pivoting shaft on clamping plate, each positioning notch receiving each positioning protrusion. Wherein, the box body has a extending block formed thereon; the pivoting hole is opened on the extending block; the positioning protrusions are protruded around the pivoting hole on the extending block of the box body; the box body has a bottom cover and a top cover; the bottom cover has two first pivoting units; the top cover has two second pivoting units; the two second pivoting units are respectively inserted into the two first pivoting units so that the top cover is pivoted on the bottom cover; each first pivoting unit is formed as groove-shaped; each second pivoting unit is formed as cylinder-shaped; a tool handle and a plurality of tool bits are placed into the bottom cover; at least one abutting locker is assembled across one first pivoting unit and one second pivoting unit; two ends of the abutting locker respectively abut against the bottom cover and the top cover so that the box body is locked and would not be opened by an unexpected force; the clamping plate has a hanging hole defined at another end thereof; a plurality of spacing gaps is crisscross opened from a top of the positioning hook to the pivoting shaft.
- Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a tool box of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the tool box of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view for showing the connection between a box body and a clamping plate along line 3-3 inFIG. 2 ; -
FIG. 4 is a perspective view for showing the box body which is rotated relative to the clamping plate; and -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view for showing the tool box which is opened. - Referring to
FIGS. 1-3 , a tool box in accordance with the present invention comprises abox body 1 and aclamping plate 2. Thebox body 1 has apivoting hole 11 opened thereon. A plurality ofpositioning protrusions 12 is protruded around thepivoting hole 11 on thebox body 1. Theclamping plate 2 has a pivotingshaft 21 defined at one end thereof. Thepivoting shaft 21 of theclamping plate 2 is inserted into thepivoting hole 11 of thebox body 1. Thepivoting shaft 21 has apositioning hook 22 at a top end thereof. Thepositioning hook 22 of theclamping plate 2 is used to hook at the periphery of thepivoting hole 11 of thebox body 1 so that theclamping plate 2 is connected to thebox body 1. Therefore, it does not need a further connecter (such as a screw) to connect theclamping plate 2 and thebox body 1. Thebox body 1 is rotatable relative to theclamping plate 2. A plurality of positioningnotches 23 is opened around thepivoting shaft 21 onclamping plate 2. Eachpositioning notch 23 receives eachpositioning protrusion 12. - Under this arrangement, when the tool box of the present invention is hanged on a belt of a user and the user is sitting in a vehicle, the user can rotate the
box body 1 on the clamping plate 2 (as shown inFIG. 4 ) and the tool box is horizontally positioned on the belt. Therefore, the tool box which is horizontally hanged on the belt would not make the user feel uncomfortable when the user is sitting. In addition, the user can easily take tool bits out from the tool box which is horizontally hanged on the belt when the user is sitting. - Furthermore, when the
box body 1 is rotated relative to theclamping plate 2 until eachpositioning protrusion 12 of thebox body 1 is received into eachpositioning notch 23 of theclamping plate 2, a click sound alerts the user that thepositioning protrusion 12 is completely received into thepositioning notch 23 for adjusting the orientation of the tool box. Theclamping plate 2 has a hanginghole 24 defined at another end thereof so that the user can hang the tool box on a wall hook (not shown) via thehanging hole 24. A plurality ofspacing gaps 25 is crisscross opened from a top of thepositioning hook 22 to the pivoting shaft 21 (there are twospacing gaps 25 which are vertical to each other in this embodiment of the present invention) so that when thepositioning hook 22 is inserted into thepivoting hole 11, thepositioning hook 22 can be compressed because of thespacing gaps 25. Thebox body 1 has a extendingblock 13 formed thereon. Thepivoting hole 11 is opened on the extendingblock 13. Thepositioning protrusions 12 are protruded around thepivoting hole 11 on the extendingblock 13 of thebox body 1. Thebox body 1 has abottom cover 14 andtop cover 15. The extendingblock 13 is formed on thebottom cover 14. Thebottom cover 14 has twofirst pivoting units 141. Thetop cover 15 has twosecond pivoting units 151. The twosecond pivoting units 151 are respectively inserted into the twofirst pivoting units 141 so that thetop cover 15 is pivoted on thebottom cover 14. Eachfirst pivoting unit 141 is formed as groove-shaped. Eachsecond pivoting unit 151 is formed as cylinder-shaped. Atool handle 16 and a plurality oftool bits 17 are placed into the bottom cover 14 (as shown inFIG. 5 ). At least one abuttinglocker 3 is assembled across onefirst pivoting unit 141 and onesecond pivoting unit 151. Two ends of theabutting locker 3 respectively abut against thebottom cover 14 and thetop cover 15 so that thebox body 1 is locked and would not be opened by an unexpected force. - Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
