Abstract

The invention entitled Knee Protection Pocket Two is a knee pocket arrangement attached to a pant garment safeguarding the exterior knee portion of each pant leg with identical shaped pocket designs. A locking zipper opens and closes the knee pocket arrangement allowing a comfort pad to be implanted or removed at will. The said invention provides the knee and the lower thigh area added comfort and added protection, from above the shin to the lower part of the thigh containing a larger durable panel below the locking zipper and a smaller durable panel above the locking zipper, said smaller durable panel above the locking zipper accommodates a portion of the comfort pad above the locking zipper.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The invention entitled Knee Protection Pocket Two is a knee pocket arrangement that has a large durable panel below a locking zipper and a small durable panel above said locking zipper allowing the knee and the lower part of the thigh the comfort and protection of a dimensioned comfort pad. Specific users will benefit from a higher reach comfort pad for engaging kneeling times and/or arduous activities. A comfort pad with a higher reach above said locking zipper provides comfort and protection for that portion above said locking zipper. All users will benefit, but specific users such as; carpet layers, off-road athletes, photographers, archeologists plus many others will have adequate comfort and protection with the durability and versatility their knee and lower thigh areas demand.
Possible harm or discomfort by said locking zipper is eliminated by placing said comfort pad substantially behind and above said locking zipper reaching the top edge of the smaller durable panel above said locking zipper. A complete system is formed combining said locking zipper with the larger durable panel below and the smaller durable panel above covering the knee portion from above the shin to the lower part of the thigh. Resilient performance makes the said invention appropriate without being clumsy, bulky or oversized; fluid movement is not hindered by placing said locking zipper above the knee portion. Users do not have to deal with additional equipment or additional apparel or additional devices nor do they have to ignore the irritations offered by other knee pad arrangements that have straps.
The smaller durable panel above said locking zipper allows a portion of said comfort pad to be accommodated above said locking zipper securing said comfort pad when it is fastened. Major comfort pad movement and/or dislodgment is prevented allowing it to be used for work, for kneeling, for arduous activities and/or for safeguarding the knees from possible accidents. The knee pocket arrangement design will be a unique choice for leisure, play, or work activities.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The objective of the invention entitled Knee Protection Pocket Two is to provide a knee pocket arrangement design that allows a comfort pad to be inserted or removed at will by using durable panels and a locking zipper. A smaller durable panel above said locking zipper allows said comfort pad a higher reach by accommodating the portion of said comfort pad above said locking zipper. The higher reach of said comfort pad above said locking zipper creates a dimensioned portion of comfort and protection for the knee area and the area above the knee into the lower part of the thigh. It, the said invention is a useful knee pocket arrangement design creating said higher reach of comfort and protection by placing said locking zipper above the knee portion with a larger durable panel below covering the knee and a smaller durable panel above covering the lower thigh. Fluid movement is not hindered nor compromised.

In this view we see a comfort pad uniquely fitted within the larger bottom durable panel resting behind and above the fastened locking zipper of the Knee Protection Pocket Two reaching the top edge of the smaller top durable panel. FIG. 4 is a profile view of FIG. 3 of the Knee Protection Pocket Two showing the comfort pad within the larger bottom durable panel, fitted behind and substantially above the fastened locking zipper fitting inside the smaller top durable panel reaching the top edge of said smaller top durable panel. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

There is shown in FIG. 1 a pant garment 10 that has two equal pant legs in length surpassing the knee area and reaching the ankles. Each pant leg 12 and 14 has a larger bottom durable panel 16, a locking zipper 22 and a smaller top durable panel 18 attached by stitches to the exterior knee and lower part of the thigh portion of said pant garment 10 forming an identical garment knee pocket 32 for each said pant leg 12 and 14. The said larger bottom durable panel 16 has strong durable stitching 20 at the side and bottom perimeter edges attached to said pant garment 10, the top perimeter edge remains unattached from said pant garment 10; said top perimeter edge is attached by stitches 26 to a bottom edge tape of said locking zipper 22; the side perimeter edges of said locking zipper 22 are attached to pant garment 10 by stitches 24; said smaller top durable panel 18 has strong durable stitching 30 at the side and top perimeter edges attached to said pant garment 10; the bottom perimeter edge remains unattached from said pant garment 10; a top edge tape of said locking zipper 22 is attached by stitches 28 to the said bottom perimeter edge of said smaller top durable panel 18; said locking zipper is in between said smaller top durable panel 18 and said larger bottom durable panel 16. The width of said locking zipper 22 is the full length of the width of the rectangular shape that forms a garment knee pocket 32.
Access into said garment knee pocket 32 is achieved by opening or closing said locking zipper 22 at will. It is shown in FIG. 2 an enlarged fragmentary view of FIG. 1 showing how said locking zipper 22 covers the full length of the width of said garment knee pocket 32. The said bottom edge tape of said locking zipper 22 is attached by durable said stitches 26 to said top perimeter edge of said larger bottom durable panel 16 and said top edge tape of said locking zipper 22 is attached by durable said stitches 28 to said bottom perimeter edge of said smaller top durable panel 18. Placement of said garment knee pocket 32 will always be placed around the knee area along each said pant leg 12 and 14 of pant garment 10 from above the shin area to the lower part of the thigh area.
A uniquely fitted dimensioned comfort pad 34 can be implanted or removed at will from said garment knee pocket 32. It is shown in FIG. 3 an enlarged fragmentary view of said garment knee pocket 32 of FIG. 1 showing a dimensioned said comfort pad 34 implanted into said garment knee pocket 32 resting inside said larger bottom durable panel 16, behind and above the fastened said locking zipper 22 and inside said smaller top durable panel 18 reaching said top perimeter edge of said smaller top durable panel 18. It (the comfort pad 34) is smaller in its rectangular dimensions having generally smooth surfaces, generally resting flat and uniquely fitted to the dimensions of said garment knee pocket 32. Durable said stitches 20, 24, 26, 28 and 30 along with the fastened said locking zipper 22 prevent major said comfort pad 34 movement and/or dislodgment; each said pant leg 12 and 14 of said pant garment 10 have identical said garment knee pocket 32.
A uniquely fitted said comfort pad creates a distinct unique relationship with said stitches 20, 24, 26, 28 and 30, said garment knee pocket 32 and the fastened said locking zipper 22 minimizing movement and preventing dislodgment from said garment knee pocket 32. It is shown in FIG. 4 a profile view of FIG. 3, the garment as shown in FIG. 4 includes said pant garment 10 having two said pant legs 12 and 14 that extend to the ankles; each of the two said pant legs 12 and 14 includes said smaller top durable panel 18 with said perimeter edges, a fastened said locking zipper 22 with said perimeter edges and said larger bottom durable panel 16 with said perimeter edges, each are stitched to the knee portion thereof said larger bottom durable panel 16 has said bottom and said side perimeter edges stitched by said stitches 20 to the knee portion thereof with said top perimeter edge unattached; said bottom edge tape of said locking zipper 22 is stitched by said stitches 26 to said top perimeter edge of said larger bottom durable panel 16 and said top edge tape of said locking zipper 22 is stitched by said stitches 28 to said bottom perimeter edge of said smaller top durable panel 18, said smaller top durable panel 18 has said top and said side perimeter edges stitched by said stitches 30 to the knee portion thereof defining said garment knee pocket 32 for said pant leg 12 and 14 of said pant garment 10; a fastened said locking zipper 22 has said stitches 24 attached to said pant garment 10 while extending substantially full width of said garment knee pocket 32 and defines a opening therethrough; the dimensioned said comfort pad 34 is positioned through the opening of the fastened said locking zipper 22 of said garment knee pocket 32 and has an upper edge of said comfort pad 34 extending substantially above said locking zipper 22 while an outer surface thereof faces an interior surface of said larger bottom durable panel 16 and said smaller top durable panel 18 and toward said top perimeter edge of said smaller top durable panel 18 when fastened as depicted in FIG. 4.
A different thickness said comfort pad 34 can be used (from ⅛″ to ⅜″). It is shown in FIG. 5 a view of said comfort pad 34 showing one example of thickness 36 for said comfort pad 34 and a second example of thickness 38 for said comfort pad 34. The examples only demonstrate that said comfort pad 34 could vary in thickness. The appropriate application of said garment knee pocket 32 would determine the appropriate thickness of said comfort pad 34; said comfort pad 34 will have the appropriate dimensions uniquely fitted to the appropriate dimensions required by the chosen combined design elements of said garment knee pocket 32.
The construction is as shown and described. I claim the invention entitled Knee Protection Pocket Two 32, it will be understood by those skilled in the field that modifications may be made to the said invention 32 without departing from the scope of the said invention 32.

Claims

1. A Knee Pocket protection system adapted to protect the knees from rigid surfaces during Kneeling, wherein the said invention comprises: a pair of pants having two pant legs that extend to the ankles; each of the two said pant legs has a smaller top durable panel and a larger bottom durable panel with perimeter edges stitched to the knee and the lower part of the thigh portion thereof with said bottom and said side perimeter edges of said larger bottom durable panel stitched to the knee portion thereof with said top perimeter edge unattached; said smaller top durable panel has said top and said side perimeter edges stitched to the lower part of the thigh portion extending down into the knee portion thereof with said bottom perimeter edge unattached;

a bottom edge tape of a locking zipper is stitched to the said top perimeter edge of the said larger bottom durable panel and a top edge tape of said locking zipper is stitched to the said bottom perimeter edge of said smaller top durable panel thereof with said side perimeter edges of said locking zipper stitched to the said pant leg defining a garment knee pocket; said locking zipper extends substantially full width of the said garment knee pocket and defines a opening therethrough;

a dimensional comfort pad is positioned through the opening of said locking zipper of said garment knee pocket and has an upper edge of said comfort pad extending substantially above said locking zipper while an outer surface thereof faces an interior surface of said larger bottom durable panel and said smaller top durable panel and toward the said top edge of said smaller top durable panel when fastened.

2. The Knee pocket protection system in accordance with claim 1, wherein the said garment knee pocket extends approximately from the lower part of the thigh to above the shin area without being attached to the seams of the said pair of pants.

3. The Knee pocket protection system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said larger bottom durable panel and said smaller top durable panel are made of leather.

4. The Knee pocket protection system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said top edge tape and said bottom edge tape of said locking zipper extend equally in length.

5. The Knee pocket protection system in accordance with claim 1, wherein the dimensioned said comfort pad is made of various thickness.
