Abstract
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present disclosure relates to an electronic device with connector modules.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- A server includes a plurality of data storage units connected to a backplane of the server through a plurality of connectors. Each connector is fixed on the backplane with two screws. Thus, assembling and disassembling the connectors can be inconvenient.
- Many aspects of the present embodiments can be better understood with reference to the drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

FIG. 1 is an exploded, isometric view of an embodiment of an electronic device, wherein the electronic device includes a connector module. -
FIG. 2 is an exploded, enlarged view of the connector module ofFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 3 is similar toFIG. 2 , but viewed from another aspect. -
FIG. 4 is an assembled, isometric view ofFIG. 3 . -
FIG. 5 is an assembled, isometric view ofFIG. 1 . - The disclosure, including the accompanying drawings, is illustrated by way of examples and not by way of limitation. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 , an embodiment of an electronic device includes achassis 10, abracket 20 received in thechassis 10, a plurality ofdata storage assemblies 30 received in thebracket 20, and a plurality ofconnector assemblies 40. In the embodiment, eachdata storage assembly 30 includes a plurality of hard disk drives. - The
chassis 10 includes abottom wall 11. Thebracket 20 is fixed on thebottom wall 11. Twoblocks 12 protrude on thebottom wall 11, aligning with adata storage assembly 30. - The
bracket 20 includes a plurality of receiving spaces each receiving adata storage assembly 30. Thebracket 20 includes atop plate 21 opposite to thebottom wall 11. Twolocking holes 211 are defined in thetop plate 21, corresponding to the twoblocks 12. - Referring to
FIG. 2 andFIG. 3 , eachconnector module 40 includes amain body 41, twomounting members 43, and twoscrews 45. Themain body 41 includes afirst side surface 411 and asecond side surface 412. Afirst signal connector 413 and apower connector 414 are set on thefirst side surface 411. Thefirst signal connector 413 is a serial attached small computer system interface (SAS), for electrically connecting with a motherboard of the electronic device. A plurality of parallelsecond signal connectors 415 are set on thesecond side surface 412. Thesecond signal connectors 415 are SAS, for electrically connecting with thedata storage assemblies 30. Tworails 416 are formed from opposite end walls of themain body 41. Amounting piece 417 extends outward from a top of eachrail 416. Eachmounting piece 417 defines adepressed portion 418 and a throughhole 419 in a center of thedepressed portion 418. - Each
mounting member 43 includes alocking portion 431 having a U-shaped cross-section and a groove define therein, aprotrusion 433 formed from a bottom of a sidewall of thelocking portion 431, and amounting piece 435 formed from a top of thelocking portion 431 opposite an opening of thelocking portion 431. Theprotrusion 433 defines alocking 434. Themounting piece 435 defines amounting hole 436. Aflange 438 extends down from an end of themounting piece 435. - Referring to
FIG. 4 , in assembly, theconnector module 40, therails 416 respectively slide into the grooves of thelocking portions 431, with the throughholes 419 aligning with themounting holes 436 respectively. Twoscrews 45 extend through the throughholes 419 to screw into themounting holes 436, respectively. The head of eachscrew 45 is received in the correspondingdepressed portion 418. - Referring to
FIG. 5 , in assembling theconnector module 40 to the electronic device, theconnector module 40 is positioned to align with the correspondingdata storage assembly 30. Theblocks 12 engage into thelocking holes 434 respectively. Theflanges 438 engage into thelocking holes 211 respectively. Therefore, theconnector module 40 is mounted to thebracket 20 aligning with the correspondingdata storage assembly 30. Thedata storage assembly 30 is then inserted into thebracket 20 to connect with thesecond signal connectors 415. - In the embodiment, the
connector module 40 are convenient to be mounted to or detached from thebracket 20 through manipulating themain body 41 and themounting members 43. - It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the embodiments have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in the matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the disclosure to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
