Abstract

A golf putter includes a putter head comprising a putter block and an aiming block and a shaft fixedly connected to the putter block. The putter block includes a putting face on one side for putting a golf ball, a mounting portion on an opposite side for the mounting of the aiming block. The aiming block is a transparent block affixed to the mounting portion of the putter block, carrying an aiming mark that guides the player to put the golf ball accurately. In another embodiment, a golf putter includes a transparent putter head and a shaft connected to the putter head; and the putter head has a putting face on one side and an aiming mark on an opposite side.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to golf clubs and more particularly to a structural design of golf putter.
(b) Description of the Prior Art
Golf clubs include woods, irons, diggers and putters. Each type includes a series of numbers corresponding to different sizes for selective use by a player. When the ball reaches the putting green, a putter will be used for putting the ball into the hole. “Putting” is the most essential part of the golf game, more particularly at the moment the ball enters the hole. Either a beginner, amateur or professional player, it is necessary to frequently practice the action of putting, controlling the applied force and posture and making the correct judgment. Many golf putters are commercially available for selection by players. A golf putter generally provides an aiming line aimed at the center of the putting face to help the user aim the putting face at the center of the ball for accurate putting. A special golf putter may also be equipped with a leveling.
However, due to the constraint of the metal structure and color of the putter head, the aiming line may not be clearly seen when aiming the putter head at the ball. Further, people may putt on an artificial lawn or putting green in a house or office to practice putting. Thus, there is a need for a special design of golf putter that is suitable for practicing putting in a house or office.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide a golf putter, which has a fine shape and a transparent structure design at the putter head for enabling the player to easily view an aiming mark at the putter head to assure accurate putting.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a golf putter, which has a transparent structure design at the putter head for enabling the player to view the green beneath the putter head, so that the player can accurately control the distance between the putter head and the green when putting the ball in order to assure putting accuracy.
To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, a golf putter according to a first embodiment comprises a putter head and a shaft. The putter head comprises a putter block, and an aiming block affixed to the putter block. The putter block comprises a putting face located on one side thereof for putting a golf ball, and a mounting portion located on an opposite side thereof. The aiming block is a transparent block affixed to the mounting portion, comprising an aiming mark. The shaft has one end thereof fixedly connected to the putter block.
To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, a golf putter according to a second embodiment comprises a putter head and a shaft. The putter head is a transparent block, comprising a putting face located on one side thereof for putting a golf ball and an aiming mark located on an opposite side thereof. The shaft has one end thereof fixedly connected to the putter head.
Further, the aiming mark can be a straight dent or a straight rib extending toward the putting face and colored with a predetermined color.
Thus, by means of the transparent aiming block or the transparent putter head, the colored aiming mark at the transparent aiming block or putter head is clearly seen, thus helping the player aim the ball at the hole. Further, the transparent structure enables the player to view the aiming mark clearly and correct the posture in an indoor practice. When compared to various conventional non-transparent metal putter head designs, the golf putter of the present invention is more attractive as an item for collection.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

A golf putter in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention is shown in FIG. 1. The golf putter includes a putter head 10, and a shaft 20 affixed to the putter head 10.
Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3 and FIG. 1 again, the putter head 10 comprises a putter block 1 and an aiming block 2. The putter block 1 comprises a putting face 11 located on one side thereof for putting a golf ball, and a mounting portion 12 located on an opposite side thereof. The aiming block 2 is a transparent block affixed to the mounting portion 12 of the putter block 1. The aiming block 2 can be made of fiber reinforced plastics or tempered glass, having an aiming mark 21 marked thereon. Further, the shaft 20 has one end thereof affixed to the putter block 1. Owing to the transparent characteristic of the aiming block 2, the aiming mark 21 can be clearly seen.
Further, as shown in FIG. 3, the mounting portion 12 of the putter block 1 is preferably a mounting surface 121 located on one side of the putter block 1 opposite to the putting face 11; the aiming block 2 is attached to the mounting surface 121. In one example of the present invention, the aiming block 2 is adhered to the mounting surface 121. In another example of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 4, the aiming block 2 is affixed to the mounting surface 121 with at least two screws 22. In still another example of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 5, the aiming block mounting structure for joining the aiming block 2 to the mounting portion 12 (mounting surface 121) of the putter block 1 is a plug joint comprising a plurality of first fastening means, for example, pins 13 located on the mounting portion 12 (mounting surface 121) of the putter block 1 and a plurality of second fastening means, for example, pinholes 23 located on the aiming block 2. By means of press-fitting the respective pins 13 into the respective pinholes 23, the putter block 1 and the aiming block 2 are fastened together.
In order to enhance the connection stability between the putter block 1 and the aiming block 2, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, an opening 122 is formed in the mounting portion 12 of the putter block 1; the aiming block 2 is configured to be press-fitted into the opening 122 in the mounting portion 12 of the putter block 1. Further, an adhesive may be applied to the abutment surface between the aiming block 2 and the putter block 1 before press-fitting the aiming block 2 into the opening 122 in the mounting portion 12 of the putter block 1. FIG. 8 illustrates still another design of the mounting structure between the putter block 1 and the aiming block 2. In addition to the design of the opening 122 in the mounting portion 12 of the putter block 1, screws 22 are also driven through the putter block 1 into the aiming block 2 to affix the aiming block 2 to the putter block 1. FIG. 9 is an exploded view of a part of the present invention, illustrating still another design of the mounting structure between the putter block 1 and the aiming block 2. According to this design, the putter block 1 further comprises a plurality of first fastening means, for example, pins 13 suspending in the opening 122; the aiming block 2 comprises a plurality of second fastening means, for example, pinholes 23 that are respectively fastened to the pins 13 when the aiming block 2 is press-fitted into the opening 122 of the putter block 1.
As stated above, the aiming block 2 is a transparent block so that the aiming mark 21 can be clearly seen. Further, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 6, the aiming mark 21 can be a straight dent 211 extending toward the putting face 11 of the putter block 1 and colored with a predetermined color. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 10, the aiming mark 21 can be a straight rib 212 extending toward the putting face 11 of the putter block 1 and colored with a predetermined color.
FIG. 11 illustrates a golf putter in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention. Similar to the aforesaid first embodiment, the golf putter comprises a putter head 10, and a shaft 20 connected to the putter head 10. The putter head 10 is a transparent block, comprising a putting face 11 located on one side thereof and an aiming mark 14 located on an opposite side thereof. Further, the shaft 20 has one end thereof affixed to the putter head 10. Owing to the transparent characteristic of the putter head 10, the aiming mark 14 can be clearly seen.
Further, as shown in FIG. 12, the aiming mark 14 can be a straight dent 141 extending toward the putting face 11 and colored with a predetermined color. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 13, the aiming mark 14 can be a straight rib 142 extending toward the putting face 11 and colored with a predetermined color.
Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.

Claims

What is claimed is:

1. A golf putter, comprising:

a putter head comprising a putter block and an aiming block affixed to said putter block, said putter block comprising a putting face located on one side thereof for putting a golf ball and a mounting portion located on an opposite side thereof, said aiming block being a transparent block affixed to said mounting portion, said aiming block comprising an aiming mark; and

a shaft having one end thereof fixedly connected to said putter block.

2. The golf putter as claimed in claim 1, wherein said mounting portion of said putter block is a mounting surface; and said aiming block abuts said mounting surface.

3. The golf putter as claimed in claim 2, wherein said aiming block is adhered to said mounting surface, or fixedly fastened to said mounting surface with at least one screw, or fixedly fastened to said mounting surface by a plug joint.

4. The golf putter as claimed in claim 2, wherein said aiming mark is a straight dent or a straight rib extending toward said putting face and colored with a predetermined color.

5. The golf putter as claimed in claim 1, wherein said mounting portion of said putter block is an opening formed in said putter block opposite to said putting face; and said aiming block is press-fitted into said opening of said putter block.

6. The golf putter as claimed in claim 5, wherein said aiming block is adhered to said putter block in said opening, or fixedly fastened to said opening of said putter block with at least one screw, or fixedly fastened to said opening of said putter block by a plug joint.

7. The golf putter as claimed in claim 5, wherein said aiming mark is a straight dent or a straight rib extending toward said putting face and colored with a predetermined color.

8. A golf putter, comprising:

a putter head being a transparent block, said putter head comprising a putting face located on one side thereof for putting a golf ball and an aiming mark located on an opposite side thereof; and

a shaft having one end thereof fixedly connected to said putter head.

9. The golf putter as claimed in claim 8, wherein said aiming mark is a straight dent or a straight rib extending toward said putting face and colored with a predetermined color.
