Abstract

The present invention is a medical sectional undergarment that includes a base panty garment that includes a first side end, a second side end and a crotch coverage end, a first hook and loop fastener to allow a user or a caregiver to put on and takeoff the base panty garment and a second hook and loop fastener that releasably secures the crotch coverage end to the secured first side end and second side end. The present invention can also be a boxer type of undergarment that includes a first side end, a second side end and a crotch coverage end, a plurality of releasable attachment snaps to allow a user or a caregiver to put on and takeoff the panty garment and a hook and loop fastener that releasably secures the crotch coverage end to the secured first side end and second side end.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD & BACKGROUND

Currently there are limited options for men and women who are concerned with unnecessary exposure of private regions while hospitalized. After medical procedures, patients are frequently checked for swelling, bleeding and other monitoring post-operative reviews which often result in embarrassing and uncomfortable experiences.
The present invention generally relates to undergarments. More specifically, the invention is a medical sectional undergarment.
It is an object of the invention to provide a medical sectional undergarment that serves as a dignified covering for a patients' genitalia area.
It is an object of the invention to provide a medical sectional undergarment that is a panty or brief type of undergarment that serves as a dignified covering for a patients' genitalia area.
It is an object of the invention to provide a medical sectional undergarment that is a boxer type of undergarment that serves as a dignified covering for a patients' genitalia area.
What is really needed is a medical sectional undergarment that serves as a dignified covering for a patients' genitalia area that is a panty or brief type of undergarment or that is a boxer type of undergarment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ILLUSTRATIVE EMBODIMENTS

Various aspects of the illustrative embodiments will be described using terms commonly employed by those skilled in the art to convey the substance of their work to others skilled in the art. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments. However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order not to obscure the illustrative embodiments.
Various operations will be described as multiple discrete operations, in turn, in a manner that is most helpful in understanding the present invention. However, the order of description should not be construed as to imply that these operations are necessarily order dependent. In particular, these operations need not be performed in the order of presentation.
The phrase “in one embodiment” is utilized repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms “comprising”, “having” and “including” are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.
FIG. 1A illustrates a front view of a panty type 100 medical sectional undergarment in a closed position, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The medical sectional undergarment serve as a dignified covering for a patients' genitalia area that is a panty or brief type of undergarment or that is a boxer type of undergarment typically while a user is in a hospital, nursing home or other medical or adult care facility setting.
The panty type 100 medical sectional undergarment includes a base panty 110 and a first hook and loop fastener 120 and second hook and loop fastener 130. The base panty garment 110 illustrated includes a first side end 112, a second side end 114 and a crotch coverage end 116. The first hook and loop fastener 120 is a VELCRO™ type of hook and loop fastener that releasably secures the first side end 112 with the second side end 114 of the base panty garment 110 to allow a user or a caregiver a relatively easy way to put on and take off the panty type 100, although other suitable types of fasteners such as a plurality of buttons, a plurality of snaps or a zipper can also be utilized. The second hook and loop type of fastener 130 is a VELCRO™ type of hook and loop fastener that also releasably secures the crotch coverage end 116 to the secured first side end 112 and second side end 114 secured by the first hook and loop type of fastener 120, forming the panty type 100 in a closed position.
FIG. 1B illustrates a front view of a panty type 100 medical sectional undergarment in an open position, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The panty type 100 has the same features and elements as the panty type 100 illustrated in a closed position in FIG. 1A, but is illustrated in an open position in FIG. 1B. The same elements include a base panty 110 and a first hook and loop fastener 120 and second hook and loop fastener 130. The base panty garment 110 illustrated includes a first side end 112, a second side end 114 and a crotch coverage end 116. The first hook and loop fastener 120 is a VELCRO™ type of hook and loop fastener that releasably secures the first side end 112 with the second side end 114 of the base panty garment 110 to allow a user or a caregiver a relatively easy way to put on and take off the panty type 100. The second hook and loop type of fastener 130 is a VELCRO™ type of hook and loop fastener that releasably secures the crotch coverage end 116 to the secured first side end 112 and second side end 114 secured by the first hook and loop type of fastener 120, forming the panty type 100 in a closed position.
FIG. 2A illustrates a front view of a boxer type 200 medical sectional undergarment in a closed position, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The boxer type 200 includes a base panty 210 and a plurality of snaps 220 and a hook and loop fastener 230. The base panty 210 illustrated includes a first side end 212, a second side end 214 and a crotch coverage end 216. The plurality of snaps 220 that releasably secures the first side end 212 with the second side end 214 of the base panty garment 210 to allow a user or a caregiver a relatively easy way to put on and take off the boxer type 200, although other suitable types of fasteners such as a plurality of buttons, a hook and loop fastener or a zipper can also be utilized. The hook and loop type of fastener 230 releasably secures the crotch coverage end 216 to the secured first side end 212 and second side end 214 secured by the plurality of snaps 220, forming the panty undergarment 200 in a closed position.
FIG. 2B illustrates a front view of a boxer type 200 medical sectional undergarment in an open position, in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The boxer type 200 includes a base panty 210 and a plurality of snaps 220 and a hook and loop fastener 230. The base panty 210 illustrated includes a first side end 212, a second side end 214 and a crotch coverage end 216. The plurality of snaps 220 that releasably secures the first side end 212 with the second side end 214 of the base panty garment 210 to allow a user or a caregiver a relatively easy way to put on and take off the boxer type 200, although other suitable types of fasteners such as a plurality of buttons, a hook and loop fastener or a zipper can also be utilized. The hook and loop type of fastener 230 releasably secures the crotch coverage end 216 to the secured first side end 212 and second side end 214 secured by the plurality of snaps 220, forming the boxer type 200 in a closed position.
The panty undergarments are light-fabric undergarments that provide an alternative option for full coverage protection. Made from a blend of cotton, polyester and rayon materials constructed in the shape of traditional undergarment styles such as a brief or boxer type of undergarment, the panty undergarments uses a plurality of snaps, hook and loop fasteners or a plurality of buttons positioned at the center region of the undergarment to allow for easy accessibility, as the wearer or caregiver can open or close the garment at the seams. The undergarments can includes panties, briefs, boxers, pants or other suitable types of undergarments, each designed to accommodate both male and female patients. The medical sectional undergarment can be marketed in various colors and styles to appeal to diverse consumers.
The medical sectional undergarment may improve the quality of life as well as the physical or mental wellbeing, of in-or-out patients recovering from intensive surgery or other medical procedures. The feature of a sectional undergarment, with a manipulative crotch design, simultaneously alleviates the necessity of utilizing diapers while allowing the person to feel confident when in engaging in daily activities.
While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention can be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.

Claims

1. A medical sectional undergarment, comprising:

a base panty garment that includes a first side end, a second side end and a crotch coverage end;

a first hook and loop fastener that releasably secures said first side end with said second side end of said base panty garment to allow a user or a caregiver to put on and takeoff said base panty garment; and

a second hook and loop fastener that releasably secures said crotch coverage end to said secured first side end and second side end.

2. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 1, wherein said crotch coverage is secured by said first hook and loop type of fastener, forming said base panty garment in a closed position.

3. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 1, wherein said first hook and loop type of fastener is opened to access said user.

4. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 1, wherein said second hook and loop type of fastener is opened to access said user.

5. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 1, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is a base panty type of undergarment.

6. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 1, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is a lightweight base panty type of undergarment.

7. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 1, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is made of a cotton material.

8. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 1, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is made of a cotton material and a polyester material.

9. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 1, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is made of a cotton material, a polyester material and a rayon material.

10. A medical sectional undergarment, comprising:

a base boxer garment that includes a first side end, a second side end and a crotch coverage end;

a plurality of releasable attachment snaps that releasably secures said first side end with said second side end of said base panty garment to allow a user or a caregiver to put on and takeoff said panty garment; and

a hook and loop fastener that releasably secures said crotch coverage end to said secured first side end and second side end.

11. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 10, wherein said crotch coverage is secured by said first hook and loop type of fastener, forming said base panty garment in a closed position.

12. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 10, wherein said releasable attachment snaps are opened to access said user.

13. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 12, wherein said releasable attachment snaps are made of plastic.

14. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 12, wherein said releasable attachment snaps are made of metal.

15. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 10, wherein said hook and loop type of fastener is opened to access said user.

16. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 10, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is a boxer type of undergarment.

17. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 10, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is a lightweight boxer type of undergarment.

18. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 10, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is made of a cotton material.

19. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 10, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is made of a cotton material and a polyester material.

20. The medical sectional undergarment according to claim 10, wherein said medical sectional undergarment is made of a cotton material, a polyester material and a rayon material.
