Abstract
An adjustable and pivotable seat includes a base, a backrest plate and an adjusting rod. The base has a receiving portion disposed on one end of the base and a receiving space defined in the receiving portion, and an opening inclinedly defined through the receiving portion. The backrest plate is pivotally connected with the base and has a series of teeth disposed on the backrest plate and a series of slots respectively defined in between the series of teeth. The series of teeth is correspondingly and movable received in the receiving space in the base. The adjusting rod is selectively inserted into the opening and selectively engages one of the series of slots. Therefore, the backrest plate is pivotable relative to the base and an angle between the backrest plate and the base is adjustable.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a seat, and more particularly to an adjustable and pivotable seat.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- A conventional seat includes a base, a back, and a connector. The base has a bottom provided for mounting an air pressure pump to adjust a height of the base. The back is mounted on the base. The connector is a L-shaped steel sheet and has a first end fixed on the base and a second end being perpendicular to the first end and connected to the back. The base and the back are able to slightly pivot relative to each other due to a steel restitution force of the connector.
- However, a pivot angle of the back relative to the base is relied on the steel restitution force of the connector and is restricted, such that the back of the conventional seat only provides a slightly elasticity. The pivot angle of the back relative the base is not truly adjustable.
- To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide an adjustable and pivotable seat to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.
- The main objective of the invention is to provide an adjustable and pivotable seat that includes a base, a backrest plate and an adjusting rod. The base has a receiving portion disposed on one end of the base. The receiving portion has a receiving space defined in the receiving portion and an opening inclinedly defined through the receiving portion. The opening extends toward a bottom of the base and communicates with the receiving space. The backrest plate is pivotally connected with the base. The backrest plate has a series of teeth disposed on the backrest plate and a series of slots respectively defined in between the series of teeth. The series of teeth is correspondingly received in the receiving space in the base and is movable relative to the receiving portion. Each slot is disposed between adjacent two of the series of teeth and extends toward an upper part of the backrest plate which is located higher than the series of teeth. The adjusting rod is selectively inserted into the opening and selectively engages one of the series of slots. The adjusting rod has at least one connecting arm extending from the adjusting rod for movably connecting with the base.
- Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
