- Further, the disclosed bath mat may be configured in a variety of shapes. In one embodiment of the present invention, the disclosed bath mats, such as the bath may be configured to assume a square shape. It will be, however, evident to a person skilled in the art that the bath mat may be configured to have any other shape, such as a circular shape, an elliptical shape, a rectangular shape, or any other polygonal shape.
- In one embodiment of the present invention, the bath mat may be configured to have a length of about 16 inches (about 40.6 cm), a width of about 13.5 in (about 34.3 cm), and a thickness of about ½ in to 1 in. (about 1.3 to 2.6 cm).
- In another embodiment of the present invention, the bath mat can be of any dimension suitable to fit within a portion or the entirety of the floor space of a tub or shower stall, and may have ridges disposed on the entirety of the bath mat surface; a portions of the bath mat surface; the portion of the bath mat surface closest to the leading surface; the portion of the bath mat surface farthest from the leading surface; or any combination thereof.
- In one embodiment, the bath mat is configured to be used in a bathtub while taking a bath or shower.
- In another embodiment, the bath mat is configured to be used in a shower stall while taking a bath or shower.
- In another embodiment, the bath mat is adapted to be placed on a floor of a bathtub or shower stall or other location proximate to a drain for partially or fully covering the floor of the bathtub, shower stall, or other location proximate to a drain .
- In another embodiment, the bath mat is adapted to be placed on a floor of a bathtub or shower stall or other location proximate to a drain for partially or fully covering the floor and to form a surface which may be occupied while standing, sitting or otherwise being disposed within the bathtub, shower stall, or other location proximate to a drain.
- In another embodiment, the bath mat is adapted to be placed on a floor of a shower stall for partially or fully covering the floor and to form a surface separate from the surface which may be occupied while standing, sitting or otherwise being disposed within the bathtub or shower stall.
- In one embodiment, the bathmat may be used to direct water disposed on the bath mat to a drainage direction deviant from parallel with respect to the major axis perpendicular to the leading surface of the bath mat, so as to direct water flow from the bath mat to the drain to one side of the shower or tube and thus create an unbalanced water flow towards the drain.
- In another embodiment, creation of an unbalanced water flow and subsequent vortex may enable creation of a “vortex” around the drain and thus contribute to improved drainage.
- While a number of embodiments of the present invention have been described, it is understood that these embodiments are illustrative only, and not restrictive, and that many modifications and /or alterations may become apparent to those of ordinary skill in the art. For example, any steps may be performed in any desired order (and any desired steps may be added and/or any desired steps may be deleted).
